And They Lived Happily Ever After - A June '11 Disneymoon TR! THE END - NEW PTR!

Wow those meals look so big! Thats the one thing that's we noticed last year when we went to the states that the meal sizes between Aussies n Americans. But I must say they look so yummy as well ! We are thinking of making reservations at T-Rex too for our trip in December. Can't wait to hear about your trip to the water parks :)

T-Rex looks really good! I can't believe all of the people outside waiting. It definitely pays off to make those ADRs way ahead of time :)

Love the ornament!

We love T-Rex, too! It's really fun and the food is great. I love the just married ornament-- what a great deal!

Wow, you really had a packed day at Epcot. We tend to make it a habit to take late afternoon breaks as well. The heat/humidity really wears on you after a while.

I have never eaten at T-Rex. It all looked so yummy though!
I am glad you could save that $5!!! I wouldn't want to spend that much money on a glass I didn't want as a souvenir!

Can not wait to hear all about your first time in a Disney waterpark!!! :)

I am always excited when I get an email showing there has been an update to your TR! I have tried to get into others on the Wedding TR thread, but no one is posting any pictures! I couldn't believe it!

I am enjoying yours so much! It is making me so excited for my honeymoon in 335 days... Um.. Not that I'm counting or anything... :rolleyes1 Cannot wait for another update!! popcorn::

Ooooh, I can't wait for the next installment to find out which water park you visited and how you liked it!!:thumbsup2

It looks like a successful end to your day! The crowds definitely look to be a bit extreme!

I've never eaten at T-Rex, and from what I've read here, it's more about the atmosphere than the food. I'd like to drop in there sometime and just be able to look around. I wonder if they'd let me?:rolleyes1

Can't wait to see which water park you venture to!

Ooof, I was behind! A minor disaster at work has sucked up all of my life...

Great updates, loved reading about World Showcase!

Parking at DTD is always an adventure! I'm glad you guys found a spot and got into dinner fairly quickly. I've never eaten there before, but the atmosphere looks so fun! Might have to give it a try on future trips.
The ornament is adorable! :thumbsup2 Such a nice reminder of your Disneymoon. :)

Phew, I caught with the last two weeks!

Never thought the segway would be so tiring! I too thought it would make traveling long distances a breeze, but guess not.

With all the trouble you went through just to get to DTD and then park, I'm kinda glad I took the bus.

I also ended up with a Christmas ornament as a honeymoon souvenir from Disney. I think it's a great souvenir as you get to use it every year. :goodvibes

We LOVE the Mexico pavilion! David and Rachel LOVE to watch the glass blower, he fascinates them! Your drinks look delicious! Rachel and I have gotten that Strawberry drink sans liquor...YUMMY!

LOVED your towels decorations and that you were taking time to enjoy the world and each other with downtime!

Dinner looked YUMMY!!! Someday we will eat at T-Rex...it looks fun.

I loved your purchases at the store. I want those S&P shakers.

Looking forward to more when you have time!

I don't know how I missed this update!

Fun day in World Showcase! We never get to see the Japanese drummers, or the Mariachi band! I hope to catch some of the WS performers this year! :thumbsup2

The Mexico pavilion is so pretty, it's one of my favorite places to relax when you need a break!

TRex looks like so much fun, I hope to get there someday! We seriously never have time, it's so annoying!

Yay, can't wait to see what you thought of the water parks! :thumbsup2

Hi Courtney! I saw your post on a PTR and I'm loving your report! I was at the poly the same time after we went to vero beach but we were in Hawaii CL but it was for my parent's 30th wedding anniversary (they had their Disneymoon at CR in 1981). Great job so far!!,

Those dishes at T-Rex look huge! That one really was a mega pile of bones.

I'm all about afternoon naps. ;)

The T-Rex dishes are huge! They are definitely share-able.

I love the picture of Miguel drinking the margarita! He looks so happy. It makes me so excited for our trip coming up in just a little over a month! :goodvibes (In fact I just expressed my excitement to my husband in a very childlike giddy manner.)

I got the SAME souvenirs on our honeymoon! :) I don't use the salt & pepper shakers either, they are in a buffet cabinet in our kitchen. :) We get an ornament from Disney each time we go now. It's hard to find ornaments for every place we visit so we also collect magnets from every place we travel to together!

I am very excited to read about your first time at a waterpark in Disney. Greg and I will be visiting TL for the first time (well my first time, he's been to TL before with his family). :)

I can't wait to put the salt and pepper shakers out. I think they are adorable! All of the wedding stuff that Disney has is so cute. I had a hard time not buying everything!

Hey I'm still hear:)I am amazed to hear that the segway's wear you out. But it's good to know. And I have never done PaP but after hearing about it I just might do it next trip:goodvibes
I do find it funny how many people walk into Disney restaurants and are surprised by the wait. I am sure these are the same people who laugh at me when I talk about planning my next trip. :lmao: I guess some people have to experience the wait times to believe them.

I was very surprised about the Segways, too! It was definitely a work-out for our legs!

I'm still getting all caught up, but love your TR! My SO and I get comments about age, too. I'm 27, he's 34, but I look really young and he looks older than he is. People think I'm his daughter. I expect comments, but at least our waiter at CG was professional and nice about it.

The Poly looks sooo nice!

So glad you're enjoying the report! :goodvibes The Poly was amazing!

The portions were so large! Too big, really. I don't know how anyone could eat that much and walk out of a restaurant without feeling miserable!

T-Rex looks really good! I can't believe all of the people outside waiting. It definitely pays off to make those ADRs way ahead of time :)

Love the ornament!

Seeing how long the waits for the restaurants are makes getting up extra early 6 months before a trip so worth it!

We love T-Rex, too! It's really fun and the food is great. I love the just married ornament-- what a great deal!

I just couldn't pass up the ornament - it is too cute! I am normally very picky about my Christmas trees and I only do ornaments that match my theme, but I think I can make an exception for this one! :goodvibes

Wow, you really had a packed day at Epcot. We tend to make it a habit to take late afternoon breaks as well. The heat/humidity really wears on you after a while.

We have found that we just can't survive without those breaks! We have yet to do a full day in a park, even when it's not hot. I don't know how some people do it, especially with kids!

I have never eaten at T-Rex. It all looked so yummy though!
I am glad you could save that $5!!! I wouldn't want to spend that much money on a glass I didn't want as a souvenir!

Can not wait to hear all about your first time in a Disney waterpark!!! :)

T-Rex is a lot of fun! I think it's definitely worth a visit. :thumbsup2

Ooooh, I can't wait for the next installment to find out which water park you visited and how you liked it!!:thumbsup2

It's coming up right now! :goodvibes

It looks like a successful end to your day! The crowds definitely look to be a bit extreme!

T-Rex is definitely about the atmosphere, but the food isn't bad either. We've always been impressed. :thumbsup2 You can go in and look around for sure! There is a large gift shop and a build-a-dino (like build-a-bear) so there are lots of people that go in there just to shop.

Hope you enjoyes your water park. We have done both and love blizzard beach the best.

I discovered that I like BB the best, too! :goodvibes

Ooof, I was behind! A minor disaster at work has sucked up all of my life...

Great updates, loved reading about World Showcase!

Thanks, Joyce! I hope the work disaster is all cleared up now! :goodvibes

Great update! The salt and pepper shakers and the ornament are super cute!!! :goodvibes

Thank you! All of the Disney wedding stuff is so cute! :cutie:

Parking at DTD is always an adventure! I'm glad you guys found a spot and got into dinner fairly quickly. I've never eaten there before, but the atmosphere looks so fun! Might have to give it a try on future trips.
The ornament is adorable! :thumbsup2 Such a nice reminder of your Disneymoon. :)

It really is an adventure, isn't it? It's really a pain to get there no matter how you go. I think the busses are even worse, though! I find that I always have to wait forever if we take the bus there! :sad2:

Phew, I caught with the last two weeks!

Never thought the segway would be so tiring! I too thought it would make traveling long distances a breeze, but guess not.

I think I will really enjoy looking at the ornament every year and remembering the trip. I don't have many like that, so it will be nice to have a special one. :goodvibes

We LOVE the Mexico pavilion! David and Rachel LOVE to watch the glass blower, he fascinates them! Your drinks look delicious! Rachel and I have gotten that Strawberry drink sans liquor...YUMMY!

I have never seen the glass blower! I would really like that. When I went to Italy last year we went over to the island that they make all of the Venetian glass on and we got to watch a demonstration and it was amazing! :thumbsup2

I don't know how I missed this update!

Fun day in World Showcase! We never get to see the Japanese drummers, or the Mariachi band! I hope to catch some of the WS performers this year! :thumbsup2

It was fun to stop and watch the musicians. That's something that we normally don't do, but we really enjoyed them. :thumbsup2

Hi Courtney! I saw your post on a PTR and I'm loving your report! I was at the poly the same time after we went to vero beach but we were in Hawaii CL but it was for my parent's 30th wedding anniversary (they had their Disneymoon at CR in 1981). Great job so far!!,

:welcome: So glad to have you following along! :goodvibes

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates this week. I started back to school on Wednesday and I've been busy with that. :guilty: After being off three months for the wedding and honeymoon, it was so hard to go back! Thankfully, I am on the downhill slide, though. I've only got two more classes and then in December will officially have my MBA! :woohoo:

To keep things moving along, I thought I would just combine my next two updates into one big update. Sorry there aren't too many pictures from the water park - I kept my camera in the locker most of the day!

Day 3 – Part 1

On day 3 of our honeymoon, I had scheduled something for us that we had never experienced before at Disney: a trip to the water park! Every since Miguel found out that Disney had water parks, he has been begging me to go. However, since our previous trips have taken place during some of the colder months of the year, we hadn’t made it there yet. So, one of the absolute must do’s for this trip was a visit to both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.

Because TL seemed like the tamer of the two water parks, I decided it would be best to start out with it since I am not much of a thrill seeker, especially when it comes to water rides! I will admit, I was a little apprehensive about going to either of the water parks, but after walking around in the hot sun for a few days, I was more than ready to spend a day getting to cool off in the water!

I originally thought that the water parks opened at 10:00, but my times guide that the Poly gave us when we checked in showed that the opening hour was 9:00, and that that particular day, TL was having morning EMH. It seemed a little strange to wake up extra early to put on a bathing suit, but that’s exactly what we did! It was nice to not have to put on makeup or fix my hair that day, and we were able to make it out of our room around 8:00.

We followed the signs to the DTD area, and soon enough we had found TL.

After we were given our EMH bracelets, our first order of business was to purchase our park tickets. I decided at the time to only purchase a one-day ticket just incase we ended up not enjoying our time at TL and deciding not to go to DTD later in the week. I moved through the line quickly, we got our tickets and then we were on our way into the park. It’s so fun getting to see a whole new area for the first time!

Since I brought my pool bag with me, we decided to rent a locker and a couple of towels. Since I don’t ever go to water parks, it never crossed my mind to bring towels. I was actually kind of surprised that you had to pay $2 a towel, although I guess it makes sense since people could take them out of the park pretty easily. It would be nice to get the money back when you return them though!

We found our locker, stuffed my bag inside and went off in search of a chair. Since it was still very early and was still before the actual park opening, we very easily found a seat in front of the wave pool.

Miguel was anxious to get started on the attractions, so off we went to try out our first ride of the day. We really had no clue what we were doing or where we were going, but we ended up at the “falls” slides, which includes Gang Plank Falls, Mayday Falls and Keel Haul Falls. I can’t remember what the name of the one we tried first was, but I know that it was the wilder of the two single person slides I’m pretty sure it was Mayday. I enjoyed it, but I wished that we had started out with the tamer falls slide. It wasn’t too bad, though. I would do it again! After Mayday, we tried Keel Haul falls, which I much better!

Next we decided to finish out the last of the three “falls” and grabbed a tube for Gang Plank Falls, which is the family raft ride at TL. I thought we were going to have to share a raft with some other people since there was just two of us, but we ended up going down alone. I really liked this one! I really liked the rides that allowed us to be in one tube or raft.

At this point, I was feeling a little bit more confident in my water park abilities, so I decided to seek out Crush N Gusher. I had remembered watching Stacy’s must-do’s about TL and her saying this was the big thrill ride at TL. We kept wondering around and around, though! Every time I would look at a Map, it was as though the attraction wasn’t even on it. Eventually we just gave up and decided to hop in the lazy river.

We floated by two stops before we got out to take a little break at our chairs. By this point, our chairs were completely in the sun, so we both decided to try out the wave pool.

Wow is all I have to say. For someone who’s biggest fear is drowning, this was NOT fun. The waves are huge and are so powerful. We were always towards the front of the pool where the wave was pretty much dying out and I couldn’t stand it. I couldn’t imagine being all the way at the back where the wave starts! It looked so dangerous! I lasted through two waves before I left Miguel to fend for himself and I went to brave the sun in our chairs.

After about 15 minutes, Miguel made his way out of the wave pool. His verdict: he loved it! At this point, I was starting to get a little bit hungry, but it was only about 11:00, so it was no way near time for a meal. I had remembered passing the little donut stand towards the entrance of the park and thought that sounded like an excellent snack.

Oh my goodness, these were so good! I ordered them with the chocolate dipping sauce, but they were actually better plain. We got a dozen, but we ended up not being able to eat them all, even though I wanted to. I hated to throw some away because they were so tasty! Haha. If you are at the water parks, you must get some of these donuts!

Since we weren’t at our chair too often, I was keeping all of my things in the locker, so after getting our donuts I had to go back to the locker to stow away my wallet again. I thought about putting on some more sunscreen, but I figured that we would be leaving fairly soon and that it probably wasn’t necessary.

Back to the lazy river we went! We floated around the entire river twice and it was so relaxing. It also takes a pretty long time to get around, and by the time we got out almost an hour had passed.

I was pretty much done for the day at this point, but Miguel wanted to get back to the wave pool. I thought he would only be there for 10 minutes or so, but it turned out it was a “bobbing wave” period, so he waited the full 30 minutes for the big waves to come back.

Meanwhile, I was pretty much roasting in the sun waiting for him, and wishing that I had put on some more sunscreen. Thankfully a little after one, Miguel had had his feel of the waves, and we gathered our things and made our way back to the Poly.

Up Next: A huge mistake is realized.
