My Trip to the 2011 D23 Expo - TR Complete!

Beautiful necklace!!

We were able to get tickets for today and I looked all over for the DISer LGMHs. We were there 6 hours, had to leave just because we all were tired and i know we missed so much.

Can't wait for the rest of your report.

Just checking in....AWESOME day at the Expo, but we were gone from about 7:15AM until about 20 minutes ago. Going to bed! :faint:

PS. Pictures are uploading to PB as I pass out....Lots of great pics today!

Hate that they moved this so took awhile to remember it was gone :)
OK..no pics and quick filler: Sorcerers had the Archive tour and hardhat tour which was done by Stephen Clark and really fun seeing how much they had to do to make magic in such a short time. We went to the Wally Boag & Betty Taylor tribute which was great and so touching. I knew they were good, but really didn't know how amazingly talented they were and how funny Wally was. Then as an unexpected treat we had seating for the fireworks. Amazing

Don't want to hijack thread..just a little addition.
Again,,,why can't Arena presentations start on time!??? Allison, where were your seats? Good view? Were you able to get into the smaller venues? We walked out of Parks to make it to Small World..since Parks also started 20 minutes late. Dick VanDyke started 45 minutes late (Trivia thing ran late, room change, ets.)..did you make it in? Exhausting, again..don't know how you post so many so many pics..but glad you do!

Can't wait to read your day by day report.

SO. EXCITED. Thanks for the early a.m. update!

I hope you made it here OK, and enjoyed your night at VGC!

I love all your pics!! Excellent update! I LOVE your new necklace!

Your hotel looks nice. We like to stay in Hilton brand hotels (also Marriott). We find them to be clean, and comfy. Looks like everyone had a good time at your DIS meet! I am soooo jealous that you live so close! I am closer to WDW than Disneyland, and I still have to drive for a couple of days to make it down there!

Those art pieces are very nice too. I like the Alice one. No room in my house for any of those, but it is nice to dream! ;)

I'll have a little bit on Fantasyland, so stay tuned!

I LOVE that. And I love all those cute ear hats!
Have fun! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Unfortunately that copy sold yesterday, so we'll have to look for the set when they get into the parks!

You have a really great room view of (the back of) Cars Land. I like how you can see Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Matterhorn, Space Mountain, and Cars Land all at once - sort of past, present, and future view.

I'm surprised that I didn't see dozens of Disneyland Monorail sets in the Dream Store pictures - are they gone already?

Between your updates, Disney has been posting some good pictures of the Legends ceremony: http://twitter.com/#!/DisneyD23

I really wish I were there!
Robert

It's awesome, I'm not sure about the monorails, but things here are crazy!

Looks great, thanks for the preview shots and setting up shots.

You're welcome :goodvibes

Great update and I want your necklace too!

Thanks! :)

Love your latest update! But then I'm a tragic where food is concerned....and yes, that store looks FANTASTIC! Wish I were there.

Nice looking DisMeet crowd. Anyone want to point out who's who?

(It's a B-I-G Castle. Surely there's at least one room INSIDE?) :rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

Loving your live report from the Expo.....I would have loved to have gone & after seeing just a few pics today.....I'm gonna make a point on going to the next one!!!

I'd love to know on the auction items, how much they end up going for!!!

Hi Linda & Bree!! (mom & daughter on the far left)

The auction is tonight, so we'll see!

Thanks for the update and I love the necklace... I think it is beautiful.:lovestruc

Thanks! :goodvibes

There is so much to pack in, sort of boggles the mind.

Allright! Allright! I'll se if I can pop something out before we take off this morning!

The Expo sold out for today (Sat) so it is insanely crowded. Lines for all the panels are very long. I'm currently in a line for a panel that doesn't start until 230 pm!! And we've been in it since 1215! A little ridiculous...

OK so the update before I left didn't happen! I just left the Studios session to come back and get the cell phones and cameras! So I do a quickie in five minutes!

We thought about going to that one, but decided that everyone who didn't make it to the 10:30 presentation in the arena would be lined up there. If we don't get into the 2:45 one, we'll just check out the floor or get a drink in the lounge.

So back to Friday morning opening day. I went to Starbucks to see if anyone was gathering for a meet. The line was INSANE! and I waited about 15 minutes for my coffee. I met Hydroguy, he seemed real nice, but we both wanted to get into the lines because evidently people had arrived at midnight to queue up, but they were chased away. I heard 4AM was when the lines began.

Here is what the D23 member line looked like (on the right, Premiere is on the left)

In this picture the member line is on the left, the Premiere line is on the right.

They let Sorcerer's and Premiere in just after 8AM and we were allowed to queue up for whatever destination was at the top of our list. Here is the show floor queue.

Once in we made a mad dash for Mickey's of Glendale, the CM only shopping outlet.

The store was tiny and it was absolutely mobbed.

While waiting in line, I was standing in front of Deb Wills and we had a nice chat.

I won't even mention how much Fran spent there! :scared1: Put it this way we had three large bags (FULL) of T-shirts, jackets etc, and one bag full of pins.

After that we looked through some of the art vendors and found two of the other three of our paintings we liked (the fourth has not been painted yet)

I thought this one was cute too

Part of our Premier passes is that we had guaranteed seating at the Arena, so we decided it was time to head over there for the Legends Ceremony.

I was expecting to be underwhelmed by the whole thing as I really didn't know who most of them were. I'll leave you hanging here as I don't have time right now to cover the Legends ceremony and do it justice!

We didn't make it into the Studios one, so we hit the Archives and then just brought lunch to the Pixar queue. Not what I had hoped, but it is crazy crowded!

Looking forward to your report on the studios!

Firefly is RIGHT (at last)......those paintings are AWESOME!

I almost met Deb Wills last year at the F&G Show. She was there at the same time I was and there was a DisMeet walking tour with her round Epcot. I really wanted to go but that was the trip with the extended family and duty called instead.

Now I am even more curious about what could show in pictures as Fran buys the whole store.

I mentioned your idea about taking a picture on the bed of all our loot and she said, " It's not big enough!" :rotfl2:
