Donald's Safari breakfast in Tusker House at AK
Cape May with Goofy if at breakfast as no characters at other meals but is still good
Hollywood & Vine has characters for breakfast in HS
1900 Park Fare has princess and step sisters for all meals in GF
Crystal Palace has Winnie the Pooh and friends at all meals in MK
Norway has a princess breakfast not sure about other meals
Chef Mickeys in Contemporary is characters all meals but food been terrible last two trips so not for us this trip...
50's Prime Time Diner in HS is not characters but servers are good for some laughs and food good
of course Cinderella breakfast has all the princess but is 2 TS and hard to get into but is worth the time to go to castle to eat and ihas character all meals
O' Hana's in POLY breakfast is with characters and is good dinner they do other things for the kids but no characters
Garden Grill was good and is neat to see how it moves and can see Small World while your eating as well
Whispering Canyons over to WL is fun time is not character but again the servers are a hoot....and if you have kids they have things for them to do and the food at any meal you can order off menu or have family style and we take the boat from Mk over to WL and that is fun trip in itself
we will be leaving in 28 days for our 59th trip and we still love it all.:cheer2:

I am so excited! I have always wanted to go to chef mickeys, just because we pass it on the monorail. I'm pretty excited for garden grill...Do any other characters (like Mickey) just pop in? lol.

Garden Grill is our favorite! I love Chip and Dale, and the interaction there is so great. It has to be the most subdued character meal we have ever done and I like it that way! We must have seen Micky, Pluto, and C&D twice in our 45 minutes we spent there eating and enjoying the atmosphere. Have fun! You'll be hooked!

The attraction you can see as GG rotates is Living with the Land. The restaurant is inside the Land pavilion at Epcot.

No

The only tip I have is to request a table on the lower level. It's really neat to be able to see over into the Land ride as the restaurant rotates. It is also my favorite character meal. The last time we were there, Mickey sat down at our table and played tic-tac-toe with my kids. They loved it!

Hands down our favorite meal this past trip... and it was spur of the moment... DS saw Mickey inside GG one night last week and asked if we can have dinner with Mickey. The next afternoon I was checking online and noticed an ADR popped up for that evening - so off to Epcot we went!

The setup for the plates when we sat down (they brought the food to us on serving platters and bowls).

Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale each came around twice.

Chip noticed DS's Star Wars shirt and started a mock lightsaber fight with him.

Character interaction was GREAT... not rushed at all. Food was excellent - I could have filled up on the bread and salad. Maple butter - yum! The turkey was super moist and flavorful. Beef and fish were great, too. Most of all, we loved the service from our CM - you can get refills of whatever items you want (even the kids' platter - DS wanted more drumsticks and got three!) The CMs were soooo attentive!

To be honest, I never really considered this place before, but I wanted to do another character meal for DS and we can't stand Chef Mickey's - too loud, the food's not so great. GG was a pleasant surprise - our new must do!

I love that Mickey is in his farmer gear..don't know why, but I get a kick out of it! I also really like that you don't feel like you are sitting with a million other people and are "sharing" your time with them. The booth that we sat in really made it feel like we were dining all alone, and we were "surprised" when the character arrived, as we hadn't seen them working the whole room waiting. From my perspective, it made the meal feel very relaxed, even though it was a character meal [I normally consider a character meal to be organized chaos and a necessary evil] GG is really my favorite character interaction....HAVE FUN! :)

thanks for all of the great info! the pictures were great. i will do my best to request a lower level booth. can i request that there or do i need to put it in my reservation?

You'll have to request that at the podium when you check in.

Character meals are the best !!! We are so much older than 23..and we book character meals all the time....sometimes, not so much for the food, but the character interactioin....ENJOY !!!
