Quick backstory - as some of you know, I have been trying to convince my DBF to squeeze in a 3rd short trip before our AP's expire. He has but the kybosh on it several times leaving me sad and pouty and just plain tantrum-like. :rotfl:

Well, yesterday he gave a little. Said he was going to check with his boss and see if he could take a few days at the end of Oct/early Nov. FOOD AND WINE!!

We LOVED that last year! We went for the first time for my 40th birthday.

So I got MS on the phone and found a few things, 2 of which sparked my interest:

1. Kidani, DS, Savannah view from 11/13-11/17
2. SSR, DS from 10/30-11/4 or 11/13-11/18

We have always wanted to stay at KV, as I love AKL and couldnt wait to experience the other side of it. BUT...one less day is a BIG thing, dont you think??

I think we have decided to go our normal week of 10/30-11/4 (for my birthday) and wait to do AKV the right way - with the kids for more than just a few days, more like a week or more.

Oh, and our home, OKW...no availablity! I think peeps are starting to catch on! :cloud9:

So I am asking for magical vibes that his boss says ok and I can call them back like yesterday!!! Dont these people realize this is some seriously time restrictive issues of the upmost importance!! :scared1:

I'm thinking I would call back and book whatever you can get. You know how the availability is, there one minute, gone the next! Then you can always cancel it, if (heaven forbid) he can't get the time off.
I would opt for the extra night and give SSR a whirl. Extra night is always good. But you can't go wrong at Kidani either!
Pixie dust either way!:wizard:

Hmmm...I should, right? I know that it seems like a no-brainer, but I thought I would lose my points if I did that. Oh, wait - only if they were banked points, right?? They arent! *rushes to phone*

F&W ends on 11/13, so your earlier dates at SSR will work out better if you want to be there during that event. As stated, grab the room while you can and cancel later if needed (watch that banking deadline!). You could even WL for Kidani and you may get lucky.

Good luck!pixiedust:

I booked it, in hopes I dont have to cancel!

I went with the extra night - 5 nights is barely long enough as it is, and we had a wonderful time in SSR last Feb so why not? Plenty of time to visit AKV when we can stay longer.

But as I am currently still waiting to hear from DBF on whether or not boss gave the thumbs up, I am happy you all suggested I just book it! I think I was lucky it was still available! I did do another check on OKW, as it is our home and I do love it so! But still nothing, and to be honest, I like the layout of the deluxe studios at SSR better than OKW - not a fan of the 2 dbl beds but adore the surroundings.

Would now be a good time to talk ADR's?? :rolleyes1

Confession time: I made all my ADR's yesterday just after DBF gave in and I got these dates from MS...*input giggling smiley here*

I wanted to go to other places we hadnt been before and I will welcome any and all thoughts and opinions!

All ADR's are for dinners: Cape May, Ohana, Teppan Edo, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and we will also hit up Beaches & Cream, Cosmic Rays, Planet Hollywood (one of DBF's faves) and I hope to also try GF Cafe for breakfast! :cool1:

:worship:

THANK YOU for all of your magical vibes and pixie dust!

It's official - we are going!! :yay::banana::woohoo::dance3:

Now will someone help me on my ADR's...what did you think?

Congratulations! That is definitely great news.

I don't know if I am much help on the ADRs. Are you adding the DP? I always like to have LESS ADRs during F&W because we like to snack a lot. We are trying dinner at CMC for the first time this December. Ohana is enjoyable, but a tough one to get. It can be hit or miss as well.

We love Teppan Edo (going back in December) and WCC is fun. None are BAD choices, but it may be much with F&W. Good luck and enjoy the trip!!

If you really want to try Kidani you can always waitlist it for the same dates and see what happens. That way you still have SSR reserved but if there is a cancellation, you still can try Kidani. Kidani is our home resort and we absolutely LOVE it! We have had very good luck having our waitlist come through when there hasn't been availability at Kidani when we called to book. I just booked what was available and waitlisted Kidani. Both times pixie dust has descended upon us and Kidani came through. Once was for a week over Memorial Day weekend! If you have reservations eleswhere they just change the reservation to your waitlist request and cancel the other reservation. Good luck and I'm sending pixie dust with hopes it all works out for you!pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Agree with Disney Princess that Ohana can be hit or miss (we prefer Kona) & that F&W offers so many options maybe doing more of that instead of regular meals might be a fun plan. WCC is fun but I think of it more as a place to go with the kids along. Have you tried Maya Grill or Sanaa ?

:goodvibes
