My husband and I are contemplating having breakfast at Akershus during our upcoming stay. We don't have any children. Are we going to get that disapproving look for going to such an elaborately themed meal without kids? I just wanted to try somewhere different and since its included in the dining plan i thought, why not? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,
Jennifer

You won't get any funny looks but I'm not sure it will be that enjoyable either. The food is kind of ehh and it's a cattle call type set up where they seat a bunch of people at the same time per room plus a zillion little kids. Are you staying on site where you might have nicer options? Boma, Kona, GF Cafe, Wave are all really nice more adult options.

Sadly my husband is then most insanely picky eater I have ever met so Boma and Wave are out. We are going to Kona for breakfast on another day, I did check out the menu for the GF Cafe. Not sure what well end up doing. Thanks for the info.

Dh and I went for breakfast. We thoght the food was good. We were not up to date on who the different princesses were. But they were very nice at explaining who they were.We had a great time.

I thought the breakfast there was great! The cheesy potatoes are fantastic! No, you won't get disapproving looks. There were people without kids there when we went. You might not get as much attention from the princesses, but I say go for it. We really enjoyed Akershus and will definitely be going back!

We're a couple and we have it scheduled in for our next trip and we've never had any funny looks at any of the other character breakfasts - enjoy :thumbsup2

My husband and I enjoyed many character meals before we had kids. In fact, on our honeymoon, I think we went to every single character meal that they had back then. So enjoy!

You won't get any disapproving looks - for Disney your a kid from 0 - 100, and the only reason the characters would spend more time at a kiddie table is because kids take longer...they have more questions, it's more difficult to get them to pose for the pictures (I know, I have two - age 4 and 2 and it takes forever:lmao:).
I have seen lots of couples, groups of friends - just go and have a great time!!!:yay:

My girlfriend and I go to character meals all the time with just the 2 of us, no kids. While we have had issues at some of the character meals ::cough cough crystal palace cough cough::, the face characters have always given us great interaction and sometimes it seems they spend more time with us than with some families.

Exactly.:)

You will be at a place where Adults wear Mouse and Dog Ears on their heads and don't receive funny looks,so you will be fine at Akershus!;):)

We are going for breakfast on our honeymoon! I don't think you'd be out of place at all- and I have heard it is a great opportunity to see the Princesses and you get a free photo!

we so enjoyed our visit there...
There were four groups of adults and I dont think they got a glance of disapproval from anyone..
AND the only thing I didnt care about in the food area, was the potatoes...The hot food at the table was delicious and plentiful and the cold buffet food was excellent.....Fresh fruit of watermelon, cantelope, honeydew, black berries and raspberries..plenty of different types of other foods and I mean plenty...

go and have a good time..
We always do Crystal Palace by ourselves and for some reason I always get a kiss from the critters...

We have Akershus booked for breakfast....4 adults going. I've been with just my friend, no kids at all. I've been with my dd's, then 15 and 32. Yes, there are tons of kids there. But, adults seem to enjoy it too. My friend and I are looking forward to the princess interactions with our dh's!!!! Yes, we are kind of mean!!:thumbsup2
