Birthday in Epcot

Alright Dad's, some of you already know that this Saturday we bought our annual passes and they've been burning a hole in my pocket ever since. Yes, that same night we hit MK for dinner, just because.

Anyhow, my oldest daughter will be celebrating her birthday in September and after she saw a picture of a bunch of kids eating with Alice on my pc screen and started begging to eat with Alice in Wonderland, we went ahead and made reservations for breakfast and Grand Floridian.

From there, we decided to make it a bigger deal and go to Epcot afterwards for the day. Taking it a step further, invited all of our friends to join us.

Anyhow, since it looks like there might be a few people actually coming, we thought that maybe a cake would be in order. Might as well go all the way with it now.

Our first thought was France, mind you, the last time I was at Epcot was for New Year's Eve 1995, and well, I don't remember a whole lot from that night. I'm sure there's a bakery in France, but does anyone know if they'll make a birthday cake, or at least decorate something they've already have made or any other suggestions.

Obviously we're trying to not spend too much on this, but since everyone is paying their own admission, we can afford to do a little something special for a cake.

Any idea's would be appreciated. We just moved to Orlando and she really doesn't have any friends yet, so we want to try and make this something special for her.

I saw the Facebook invitation, and was bummed when I noticed that the party is two days before we get there! We would have loved to have celebrated with you!

As far as birthday cakes, you have a couple of options. You can try the Boulangerie, which is the French bakery. You could also try Kringla, which is the Norwegian Bakery. And there's the caramel shop in Germany that might be able to do a special caramel apple for her. I don't know that any of them can do a traditional birthday cake though.

"Missed it by that much"

Too bad about the timing, we were originally shooting for the 24th, but was only able to get the breakfast that she wanted on the 17th. Maybe if we don't burn out that day I can convince the girls to pop over the next week.

I read that most sit downs have a 6 inch cake for 21 bucks which is an option, but we will definitely check out the caramel apple.

Yeah, the sit downs pretty much all have a basic birthday cake. IIRC, the more extravagently decorated birthday cakes come from the Grand Floridian bakery. IIRC, at one time the bakery at the Boardwalk Inn also did birthday cakes, but I'm not sure if they still do. It may be possible to get a cake from BWI delivered to a sit-down restaurant in Epcot (I don't think Epcot will let you carry it in).

Oscar!!!

How's the job going...keeping Beverly in line? :lmao:

The job is going great, and Beverly is pretty awesome Ihave to admit, my probabtion is up this Friday and she's setting up this big lunch to mark the occasion. I'd prefer a raise, but beggers can't be choosers.

I've been slacking on the boards lately, Facebook is making me lazy....
