Hello all!

My father and I are going to WDW this September for our 10th trip(I believe). The last time we went in 2009 we had the quick service dining plan. This year we got the Dining plan with the 1QS and 1TS (im forgetting the name of this d.p but you all know what im saying) We made an advanced reservation for Via Napoli and I was wondering if anyone knew what you could order for the TS credit.
I guess overall what Im asking is if my father and I go to Via Napoli can we just use one TS credit and get the big pizza to share instead of us both using a TS credit for 1personal pizza each.

Any other tips or tricks you have about the dining plan also, please let me know. We usually just do one or two sit down meals when we come to disney so having to go to one everynight is going to be way different for us then normal. We're already worried that its going to take up alot of time :scared1:

Thank you all in advance!!!

I don't think your able to use a TS credit for the big pizza - You'd have to use both of your credits, and get 2 personal pizzas.
And as far as having to eat a TS meal every day - You could make reservations at some of the Signature restaurants, which require 2 TS credits each. That way, you'll use up more, and get better food for it.

I believe if you get the large pizza, they use 2 TS credits.

Here's the lowdown on Via Napoli on the dining plan:

1 TS credit: individual size pizza, drink and dessert. They will NOT allow two people on DDP to share one individual pizza. You would each have to spend a credit and order your own entree.

2 TS credits: Large pizza, 2 drinks and 2 desserts. They will allow only two people to share this. Any extra persons at the table will have to order their own entree and spend a credit.

4 TS credits: 1/2 meter pizza, 4 drinks and 4 desserts. Again, any party of more than 4 will mean the extra persons will need to order their own entree and spend a credit.

When paying OOP you can order and share whatever you like.

I was just looking at their menu - If paying with the ddp, can you get the signature personal pizza? Its $2 more than the regular.

You will both have to order your own meal. However, each of you could order something different and then share. While I didn't like DHs pizza, we split the two appetizers and then sort of shared desserts.

You'll have to pay extra for this but definitely try the aqua frescas. So worth it!!!

EDIT: I don't remember being offered the sharing of the larger pizza or anything. Hmmmm.

Anyone know if on the DP (we're on the deluxe, actually), is there a limit to the toppings you can get on a "build your own" individual pizza?

When I was there, yes, you could get the signature pizzas.

From what I have read... since they created the "build your own" -- Extra toppings are not included in the DDP. So you can get a "plain" or a signature. But if you want to add toppings to a plain, you need to pay OOP.

They didn't offer this option when I was there. But I've read around here, that the limit is 0 --- No toppings are including in the build your own. (Which is kind of ridiculous, since there are many entrees more expensive than a plain build-your-own).

My guess is that they don't want to deal with it. There have been reports (from guests and CMs) about how people get the dining plan with no real understanding of how it works. So, they just make it easier on themselves and just say that the "make your own" section is not covered by the dining plan instead of having to deal with how many of what sort of toppings might be covered.

Seems ridiculous to me. How difficult is it to say there is a 2 or 3 topping limit if on the DP? :confused3 Oh well.

So does that mean you're limited to pizza only when you use the dining plan? No option for the chicken parm or the entree salads on the menu?

No. You can order anything on the menu. But I do not know if you can share the entrees. You cannot share the pizzas past the number of guests paying a credit for that particular pizza, but I haven't heard if they extend the same rule to the other entrees.

this year (DD's choice), VN was not my favorite place. Being Italian myself, I hate to say they were not particularly friendly or accommodating. We were not on DDP when we ate there. The waiter kept insisting that the personal pizza was very small and not enough for 2 but I INSISTED that was all we wanted so he finally gave in. It was plenty, 2 large slices each. If you are going for pizza, I would pay OOP and order 1 personal pizza however you like it. If it was not enough, you could get a delish snack as one of the countries later!! IMHO, the large pizza is way too big for 2 people.

It is really about Via Napoli not being owned by Disney. Thus, they go by their own rules to maximize their reimbursement from Disney for dining. They basically offer the minimum required, to still be allowed to participate in the dining plan. Thus, they don't offer any of their specialty beverages, nothing considered an "add on."

Just as most Disney dining plan guests seek to maximize value of the plan.... Via Napoli wants to squeeze profit out of their reimbursement.
