HEB gift card offer

I was just at HEB (grocery stores in Texas) and they have the following gift card offers. I will be buying some disney gift cards as well as amazon. They have a variety of cards.

1) Buy $50 and receive $5 off
2) Buy $100 and receive $ 15 off
3) Buy $300 and receive $50 off

Can they be used for dining at WDW?
Can they be used to purchase a premier passport at WDW?

We owe $640 on the trip. I hope to buy $600 & then I'll get $100 off the balance of our trip! Plus, I'll put it on the Disney card & get rewards there & get my HEB rewards points too.

Sounds like a great way to save alittle $.

Darn. I was just at HEB. According to the Disney Moms Panel forum it looks like they are accepted for dining. I'm leaving on the 5th. Looks like a return trip to HEB is in order. I'm in the Houston area ( Katy)

I'm such an idiot! I had looked at the ad again because I saw this promo when I skimmed the ad last Wed. It says that the offer dates are 7/20-8/2/11, so it's still on. I thought it said it was over the 22nd, which is entirely possible so I didn't bother to go. Oh well, guess there's always tomorrow.

Right before the holidays last year, HEB had an awesome deal on GCs. Since then I always try to find a GC deal in the ad, and even visit the GC kiosk when I can remember, in case there's a GC deal I can get in on. Search for the thread here, but I was able to buy 12 (I think I did it in 2 separate trips) $15 Disney GCs and got a $5 HEB GC for each one. What a deal, huh? I used it to pay off my Disney room tab. We had the dining plan (*free*) and we just charged the tip and whatever else to the room tab and paid it off w/ the Disney GCs. I actually had a few left over.

On the coupon I have from HEB it says : Giftcards include.. I interpret it as " may be used for also". I'll probably go buy them today and report what I was able to use coupon on.

Look at Post #8 in this thread, made about an hour and a half before yours. It addresses the fact that you can't buy Disney Gift Cards with this deal and includes a link to the thread you reference in the second paragraph.

Don't worry about the coupon. All H-E-B's have plenty of the Yellow coupons hanging on the gift card shelf.

HEB did have a generic Buy $50 Gift Card, get a $5 HEB coupon deal in May that unlike this thread could be used for Disney Gift Cards. See thread here. So keep checking the Gift Card kiosk at HEB. If coupons apply to Disney Gift Cards, I'll post it here.

And of course, we all are hoping that the 1/3rd off Disney deal returns in December. That is the big one.

I went to 2 of the HEB stores in Waco. However, the $50 off the $300 does not work on the Disney cards. They work only on the 6 cards someone listed above.
I even went to the Customer Service counter & the checker there was really nice & tried to make it work but it wouldn't. Thought I'd pass on my experience with it today.

Thanks. Sometimes you might get lucky and get a manager who will force a non-applicable coupon through for you, but when dealing with large figures like this, it is unlikely.

I hear ya. When I saw the yellow coupons on the kiosk, I got excited. Dang fine print.
