I caught episode 1 of Miracle Day and really liked it. I haven't seen the more recent episodes yet, however. :-S

Yup, saw the original run of the series....

Now watching the new U.S. version....though I have to admit, I prefer the original....maybe I should just wait and see if this one grows on me.

And I said I watched the original series in the early to mid 2000s. I did not research the exact air date. The original productions were a joint venture between CBC and BBC or ITV, i believe BBC... it was on CBC here when it first aired; i believe in 2006 in the original un-edited formats.

Like the Doctor Who reboot in '05, Torchwood was a product of BBC Wales for the first three series; the current, fourth, series is a "joint venture" between BBC and Starz in the US. (It's really a Starz production under license from the BBC.)

The original Torchwood was a CBC/BBC production and had far more explicit material as those things are allowed on public TV on BBC and here in Canada.

Sorry, it was definately produced by BBC Wales for the first 3 series.

I know it's a quote from Wikipedia but in this instance it's right.

Also, although Torchwood was post watershed (9pm un the UK) it was always on "free to air" TV available to all of the UK with a digital box (which is most of the UK as we're switching to Digital transmission only over here).

In fact the last episode aired over here has to have the raciest scene I've seen in Torchwood (Jack get's his freak on! Way cool!) and that wen't out at 9pm on BBC1.

Ok, having said that, yes I'm watching the current series, I'm a big fan. I must admit though I'm not liking it as much as the previous series but I think that's because to an extent it's been 'Americanised' and in this case if doesn't really work for me.

I love the production values of Season 4. Very polished. Though I'm going crazy trying to figure who or what is running Ficor and why they are creating these "plague hospitals" for the dead. Oh, and the ending of the last episode with Mare Winningham and the car (I won't spoil it for those who haven't watched it yet) was so creepy!

As soon as you saw where she was, you knew it was coming, which was even creepier. Yeesh!
