Counting Our Nuts Like Chip & Dale, a Financially Aware PTR *Update 4/17 Pg 62 *

I :lovestruc your countdown calendar! It is so cute! I would love to start one for our trip early like that, but my DH won't play along until we are 30 days out! He says he's not counting down a trip for a year! You are very lucky that your DH is as into it as you are. That's pretty rare I think.

Love, love, love the countdown, LL!! So cute and love the post it idea!! And the pics are adorable of you guys! Keep up the great work, guys!:thumbsup2

I love your calendar! I never thought of using a separate post it pad for each number! Great idea! :thumbsup2

I love that countdown calendar! Such a cool idea! And $8.22 isn't so much if you break it down per day that you would count on it! from 175 days it's $0.046 per day! Not too shabby! :)....I need to do one of those! :) And how cute is it that you and Marc coloured together?! Love it! :)

Love the countdown calendar, great idea to help count the days. Southwest released their fares today, did you decide who you were flying with yet??

What a great countdown calendar. Well done :thumbsup2
Thank you!

I love your countdown...sooo creative... And you look A-mazing!!! :thumbsup2
Thanks, I need to get back on track, I have been eating too much junk lately. :headache:

I won't lie. I think the pic of the Pina Colava is my favorite!
I think it is my favorite too, I have really been craving one of those little beauties. I need to go Unos like you suggested.

Randy just saw your countdown over my shoulder and wanted to know why we didn't have a nice "adult" one :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: Should I make one and mail it to you?

LL, I love it!!! I totally want to steal this idea from you for my next trip! :goodvibes
You can steal away!

Sounds like a great way to spend a hot weekend!

And I love the countdown calendar. :thumbsup2
It was a fantastic weekend, I really want to do it again before summer is over but who knows if that will work out.

What a great countdown!!! And wonderful pics of the two of you!!
Thanks!

What a fun countdown calendar!
I like to count down by weeks. It makes the numbers so much smaller from the beginning. I have to play mind games with myself.

I want to make a countdown calender like that! I am not that creative though :lmao: Ok my favorite park is Hollywood Studios since I love ToT and RnRC. I also love to eat at Sci-Fi. I think we are going to skip it in September so we can try some new ones (Brown Derby for one).
You don't have to be creative, pick out some photos and slap them on a piece of posterboard!

Adorable calendar. Can you come do one for me now? I am so NOT that creative. Love creative people!

You need to get that AC fixed. OMG. It took 10 minutes just for my AC to cool off the car yesterday. I can't imagine having it broken. UGGGHHHHHHHH!
I would love to make one for you. Maybe I could put the pieces together and you can just tape to your own posterboard? :rotfl2:

I know but it kills me to spend the money on it as it is not completely necessary. Sigh. Sometimes I hate being a grown up!

I love your countdown calendar!! I'm just randomly writing "we're going to Disney!" on a whiteboard we have up on our fridge, with the occasional poorly-drawn Cinderella castle . Yours (obviously) looks MUCH better!
:lmao: I am sure your castle looks just fine.

Yeay for a fun day of boating and tubing! Love the picture of you and Marc! The thought of lobster rolls is making my mouth water. I wonder if our Publix has any good lobster meat...it wouldn't be as good as fresh Maine lobster, but it might do.

Okay, I am in total love with your countdown calendar!!! I WILL be stealing that idea later on!!! Hurray for Marc getting involved! I know what you mean because I always feel the same way when Charles gets involved in vacation planning as well.
Any lobster is good lobster. You need to come visit me up here and I will take you out for some good ol' Maine lobster. Yum!

I'm glad you get what I mean, it's nice to see him interested in planning our vacation and lately he's been the one talking about it more. Shocking!!!

Very cool calendar! Awesome job on it!!!

Sounds like a very fun day was had out on the boat!!! Glad you were able to have a fun, relaxing weekend with your family!
Thanks! I liked getting my creative juices flowing for it.

I love your countdown calendar! I just stick with the numbered Mickey heads on my door, I'm not super creative. Wicked cute!
It's not hard, you could totally make one! Though I do like your Mickey heads.

You are just the crafty girl! CUTE, CUTE, CUTE, countdown calendar!
Thank you!! I enjoy being crafty and I don't do it often enough. It helps keep me sane. :rolleyes1

That is the CUTEST countdown calendar EVER!!! You Rock!!! :thumbsup2
Thank you!

Aww, you are only 3 months out aren't you? I think you should make one, at least make one when you are in double digits!!

I am very lucky that Marc likes to help plan our vacations. He is even picking up the Disney lingo which is helpful so I can talk fast and not have to explain every other word or abbreviation. :lmao:

Love, love, love the countdown, LL!! So cute and love the post it idea!! And the pics are adorable of you guys! Keep up the great work, guys!:thumbsup2
Thank you!!

I love your calendar! I never thought of using a separate post it pad for each number! Great idea! :thumbsup2
Your post it idea is awesome. I really like how it turned out. I just made the numbers 0-9 for the last two piles and will rotate them. I am sure if the stickiness starts to wear out I will have to replace them but that is okay because I have plenty left.

I love that countdown calendar! Such a cool idea! And $8.22 isn't so much if you break it down per day that you would count on it! from 175 days it's $0.046 per day! Not too shabby! :)....I need to do one of those! :) And how cute is it that you and Marc coloured together?! Love it! :)
That is a very good point, aren't you clever!! I had fun coloring with him, I was worried his wouldn't make the cut but he surprised me with this coloring skills. :rotfl:

Love the countdown calendar, great idea to help count the days. Southwest released their fares today, did you decide who you were flying with yet??
Thanks for the heads up. I have to be honest, I am not loving the Southwest times or prices. I think Jetblue is going to win our flight monies. I just have to figure out parking and such, I hate going into Boston but I guess I need to suck it up if the times and price are better.

Well I was mid way through my getting caught up reply when we had some impromptu company last night and then grrr I timed out or something so try two...

YAY for your successfulk ADR day and good luck deciding on flights...I just booked ours yesterday and was very VERY happy w/ the fares!

I have actually started jotting down ideas for PTR updates on a piece of a paper, yes my list obsession has been taken to a whole new level. Some ideas so far are as follows....

*Trip Budget Description
*Packing List
*Shopping List
*Past Trips
*Countdown Calendar
*Park Must Dos

Not terribly exciting if you ask me. I actually had a flash of brillance this week, I've been doing a 30 Day Disney Challenge on Facebook and I decided to see what other 30 Day Disney Challenges were out in google land. I found a great Disney Parks one. Now, I'm not going to do this challenge in 30 straight days, I figure it will be nice to sprinkle throughout this PTR. I even found a couple of different ones so we might do more than one. So let's do the first day, shall we? (I don't have the link with me at work, but if anyone is interested I will post it since it is saved at home)

Day 1 - Your Favorite WDW Park

Marc & I have the exact same answer for this question. We both think that Magic Kingdom is our favorite park but Hollywood Studios is a very close second for both of us.

Marc likes Magic Kingdom for the reason that is a more nostalgic park for him. For me, I think it's just the atmosphere. Magic Kingdom is what Disney is to me.

Hollywood Studios to me is about the glamour of Walt's Hollywood. I wish I could go back in time and see what Hollywood was really like back then. Hollywood Studios is a close second for Marc because of the thrill rides, mainly Rock N' Roller Coaster.

I like your PTR list of topics...I do the same thing  I need to make one up for the Jan PTR going to have the kids pick some topics they want to discusss...should be good...

And I was thinking of the same thing w/ the 30 day challange I am doing one on FB too and was wondering how to convert one over to here...very clever!

Love the photos must check out that site :thumbsup2 and I'd say my favorite park would be MK too...for both of your answers

Speaking of games, have you ever played Apples to Apples, it's my new favoritest game EVER.

Yes we have a couple versions and I love that they whole family can play...do you have the Disney version?

Here is the final product.

Isn't it cute? I love it. We used post-it notes for the numbers, coloring sheets online, pictures and stickers. We had the stickers and Mickey Heads at home. Everything else we bought today. I colored the alien from Toy Story and Marc colored the other two.

I love your countdown calendar it is so bold and fun and I bet it is very satifying taking off those numbers each day :woohoo:

Cool countdown calendar! I think that would be a good way for us to do a countdown to Europe - except with pictures of London and Paris!
So thanks - now I have one more thing to put on my list! We're not going until March, so when I get to it is when we'll start counting down! LOL!
I'll have the kids do the coloring.

Cute calendar and it sounds like you had a great weekend in Maine (minus the unintended gulping of water of course)! :thumbsup2

We do not have the Disney version, just the regular one. I adore Apples to Apples, I really want to play now.

I wasn't happy with the Southest times or prices yesterday. They don't seem to have a non-stop early flight out of the airport we normally fly out of. Not sure what we are going to do. Thinking about our flight just stresses me out right now so I'm ignoring it. :rotfl2:

I think that would make an excellent countdown for London and Paris. I am so jealous you are going there by the way. I want to go so badly!!

We really did have a great weekend. :thumbsup2

I have this fear that this PTR is going to become boring because our trip is pretty much planned out and we only have 177 days to go. ;)

I have a teeny obsession with the signs in Hollywood Studios. :rolleyes1 I hope you have enjoyed Day 1 of the Disney Parks 30 Day Challenge. I also hope everyone has a fabulous weekend, Marc & I are headed to Maine to rent a boat with my parents again like we did last summer. I really can't wait!

Thanks for the tip on WDW live, never been on that site before! Love it and the backgrounds, just changed mine!! :cloud9:

Nice countdown calendar. You two did a fantastic job picking out the pictures for them. That one of Mary and Bert especially is just pure magic. Plus, I love that Marc wanted to include the Everest one- too funny.

Thank you. :goodvibes I have that picture of Mary and Bert at work and I get a lot of comments on it. I just love that picture. Marc is trying to convince me that riding Everest again is a good idea - I think not!

Riddle me this.

What is it about having a Disney trip planned that induces this mania that makes you feel like you should have more than one planned.

Case in point. Since booking January 2012, I have this desire, no that's not quite right. It's more like this unexplainable urge to go for a quick solo weekend trip in September.

Why September? Why Solo? Well because I have an AP and Marc doesn't. That is being financially aware, right? :rolleyes1

I feel like a little kid, I want to stomp my feet and DEMAND that someone (ok, Marc) agrees that I should go. I know it's a bad idea, I know financially we could afford but that doesn't mean I should book it.

I just need to focus on January. January. January. January is so far away.

Sigh.

Let's do Day #2 of the 30 Day WDW Challenge.

Favorite land in Magic Kingdom.

Marc: Adventureland

At first Marc was trying to pick his favorite land according to his favorite rides, no so honeypie. I think your favorite land should be due to theming. What do you think? So Marc went with Adventureland, he says he really likes the music in Adventureland and he thinks it has the most interesting details.

Me: Liberty Square.

I wish I could live in Liberty Square. Call me a dork but I love it. I feel it is too small and just doesn't give the love and attention that it so rightly deserves! If I could pick any Cast Member costume to wear, it would be one of the ones in Liberty Square.

What is your favorite land in Magic Kingdom? Show me your favorite picture!
