Counting Our Nuts Like Chip & Dale, a Financially Aware PTR *Update 4/17 Pg 62 *

Oh no. This trip is Marc & I. Though we have invited my Mom along, we know my dad is hopeless. My mom seems interested but it might be a last minute addition. It drives me nuts but whatever, it will be great if she joins but if not we will still have a great trip.

Que sera, sera! :lmao:

Epcot seems to be the breaking point in a lot of people, Marc swears it is because it is mostly concrete. He calls it the concrete jungle.

Too funny! :rotfl2:

Thank you!! I am so excited to get on the boat tomorrow and even better I think I have found a lobster pound right on the lake to get a lobster roll. My dad can drop me off and I can run in and get one for myself and whoever else wants one. So excited.

A lobster roll sounds so good right now. :thumbsup2

I always forget about the light fixtures now, don't get me wrong a pretty light fixture can still make me super happy but I don't take as many pictures of them as I used too. Maybe I will dig out some of my favorite light fixture posts or....oooh maybe I should have a light fixture contest! Maybe whoever posts the best Disney light fixture picture will win! Me likey.

I think this is one of those quirky things that I love about you. You notice things, like light fixtures, or signs, or something, and you make me see Disney in a way that I haven't before.

Then the next time I go, when I think of it, I notice those things, and it's pretty cool. :thumbsup2

Joining in! I lurked on some of your past reports and really enjoyed them - I'm excited to read along with your plans for January! (same month we're going!)

Your plans sound great so far! I didn't try the cheesecake at Narcoosees, but their creme brulee is really good (if that's a sign of their other desserts, then I'm sure the cheesecake is fabulous!) :goodvibes

Disney light fixtures always make me think of you. In fact, I think I posted one in my latest update for you.

Hmmmm....honestly favorite park is so hard for me. AK is a definite no, but the other 3? Can it be a 3 way tie? :)Even though I adore World Showcase and Cinderella Castle IS WDW to me, I'd have to go with Hollywood Studios. It's the theming. I love the old Hollywood glamour of it all. The lights, the streetmosphere, and at night it's truly spectacular. Last December, we had the last ADR at Brown Derby and we rode TOT right before dinner. First, we saw the whole park lit up before us when the elevator doors opened and it was truly an awe inspiring view. And then walking down the empty streets leaving the park and feeling immersed in the story of the park was dazzling. Throw in the Muppets and TSM and Fantasmic and it's my favorite too!

I agree with you on MK! It IS Disney!!
Epcot is my second choice. It's best broken up in two days or more, and not when it's hot!

Those pictures are so cool! I'll have to explore that site!

I am sure we can help keep your PTR going strong! We always find something to talk about!

Have a great weekend in Maine!! I wish I could get some fresh lobster!
I don't know what my 3rd and 4th favorite parks would be. I do love Soarin' and Spaceship Earth so probably Epcot would be my 3rd favorite.

I will never move away from New England because I couldn't deal with being away from fresh lobster. And yes, I know how sad that sounds. :rotfl2:

Awww shucks. Thanks!! I think I am most obsessed with signs now. I don't know but I just love them and I have an absolute favorite sign, do you know what one it is?

Thanks for joining in!! I've heard such good things about Narcoossee's cheesecake that I can't wait to try it!

I did notice the one you threw in your report for me, it made me smile. :goodvibes

I almost feel disloyal to the Magic Kingdom if I don't say it's my favorite park. I really do love Hollywood Studios, I love the size of it, I never get overwhelmed, I adore Toy Story Mania and Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Hollywood Brown Derby is probably my favorite disney restaurant. Why am I not going there in January? Sigh.

Yes, I'm all about those wings. They look so good. I heard you can get them if you're having drinks at the bar, too. :thumbsup2

Yes, Tambu Lounge has a small menu to nosh off of and they're on there.

Traveling with family is hard. You know I've done it. I've got some great memories, but it can also bring out the worst in people.

Usually in Epcot. :lmao:

Funny...I seem to get a lot of calls from you in Epcot...LOL!

I love your 30 Day Challenge idea! :thumbsup2 Plus, I don't think your list is boring at ALL! I love hearing about all the little things leading up to a trip. :goodvibes

I think your park plans will be fine - January has low crowds, so even if the park is busier on those days, it will still be bearable I'm sure. Plus, like you said, you can break and come back during those EMH, so it'll be fine! Plus, if it works better for you guys on those days-you'll enjoy it more anyway!

Congratulations on your ADRs! Your meal plans sound delicious!!

Just signed up for yapta and found out I have a 25.00 JB voucher!! Thanks for the heads up on this thread!!!!!

:banana::banana: I LOVE Yapta! I've saved $60 so far on our August trip!

Ooo, which sign is your favorite? Do you want to turn that into a game for your ptr?

Hmmm. Maybe....maybe not. I actually was just thinking of ANOTHER game for the PTR. Apparently I'm the game queen. Speaking of games, have you ever played Apples to Apples, it's my new favoritest game EVER.

Okay, so here it is. It's really small but the best picture I can find. I might have a better one at home. It's the sign of the girl on the right hand side of the street. I just love it, especially when it's lit up at night. I think I love it so much because the girl reminds me of a younger version of my grandmother.

I'm glad you don't find me boring because you have 6 more months of this PTR. :rotfl2:

I think you are right on the low crowds vs. EMHs in January. I'm really going to try to chill out and relax about this. :goodvibes

You know what, I never would have guessed that. It's such a pretty, old Hollywood style sign. I notice it every time I'm there.

I haven't played Apples to Apples, but my dad gave us two versions for Christmas. We need four players. As Squirt is too little to officially count, we haven't been able to play yet. LOL

I think it's where I miss you most. :goodvibes

Awww. I miss you most there too.
Although, now that I've gone with BF, I'll never ever be able to go into Mitsukoshi without thinking of him and his new obsession. But, don't want to spoil that part of the story. ;)

I think you DO have a better picture. It's a close-up. I'm almost positive I saw it on one of your TRs. I like that one too, though there's one of a lovely reclining lady that makes me think of Jessica Rabbit that is my personal fav.

BF and I had a lot of fun the last time we played that.

Your new ADRs sound yummy!! I recently ate at Narcoossee's and loved loved loved it!!!! SO GOOD!! I'm sure you are eyeing that cheesecake...you won't regret it!

I'm glad to hear this, I changed from the Yachtsman to Narcoossee's. We were going to be eating steak all the time & I wanted lobster!:cool1:

Eat lots of lobster for me. One of my favorite places is Cape Cod, but it has been many years since we were last there. I love those lobster pounds! ;)

My DDs have Apples to Apples Jr and we have so much fun - laughing our heads off - playing that game! It makes us even sillier!

Boring PTR? You? Never!!

Have a wonderful weekend in Maine. I hope its cooler there than everywhere else! Nice borrowed pictures! Perfect!

Oooh I love the 30 day park challenge! I might have to steal that if I get bored on my PTR later on...:rolleyes1

I love the signs at DHS! I love all of the old Hollywood stuff there!

My friends and I used to play Apples to Apples all the time!:thumbsup2

Hope you are having a blast this weekend!

My boys are both out on the water, too. Trent is wakeboarding on the lake and Drew is going down the Harpeth River by either canoe or raft, I can't remember if he said. I'm landbound. Homebound, even. Gotta recuperate from this week and just stay in this house and go nowhere. I'll be back to normal tomorrow.

Isn't it great that there are different tyes of parks to give everyone the experiences they love best. Your least favorite is one of my favorites, and that's one of the great things about Disney - there is something for everyone!

Magic Kingdom is the classic park.
I love exploring the countries of Epcot, and Soarin' is my very favorite ride in all parks.
Animal Kingdom speaks to my heart in so many ways.
Hollywood would be my fourth pick, but how can I say that when I so love to see Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast with my girls.
And what's my favorite freefall hotel?
And Fantasmic - oh, how I love that big white boat full of Disney friends!

I can't pick one park. :sad2:

No way. No how. :upsidedow
