DISmoms 3! If the Tiara fits... 5/13-5/17/11 Complete! 11/8!

"Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh ..... All the single riders, all the single riders......."

Just figured that since I am singing that song all morning, you should be too......

Look Ellen, it's still 2011 and here I am!!!! :thumbsup2

I LOVED KOUZZINA!!! So much so that when my parents, and sister, and BIL and neice and nephew, and even my own daughter are eating breakfast at Cape May in December, Jeff and I will be at Kouzzina that morning!!! It was so good!!!!

DSC_1697.jpg

And what better way to kickstart your day?

DSC_1696.jpg

DSC_1693.jpg

And Kouzzina is not overly themed. It's not overly Mickey. It's not even overly WDW. I guess you could say it is very subtle in its theming, which is neither here nor there for me. I love Mickey, and I can eat Mickey waffles any day, but sometimes we grownups like a little subtlety, too, right?

Lonnie, was it your birthday AGAIN?????

DSC_1700.jpg

AFter eating that big ole breakfast, I had no problem waddling over to the Swolphin to catch the boat to DHS. One thing I can say about WDW, even with as much as I eat, I never gain weight there because I walk sooooo much! Now if I would actually consider NOT eating so much, it would be a great diet and fitness program for me.......

I chickened out on RnR this time.... but I would be back later to do the single rider dance (you're singing again aren't you!!!!). This time I just hung out with Lonnie and then threw myself on the ground for the obligatory photo.....

DSC_1704.jpg

But I was ALL about ToT! This is my favorite "thrill" ride in WDW. It just makes me giggle so much!!!!!

DSC_1706.jpg

After ToT I was so glad Ellen suggested the Magic of Disney animation..... This was my first time as an artiste (yes, you must add the "e" on the end, it makes you sound smarter and more talented......). So as an "artiste" I got my Pooh on. Now I"m thinking of drawing the turtle, or the pirate, and getting a full scholarship..... cause it can happen ya know......

DSC_1708.jpg

DSC_1709.jpg

And let me just tell you, after all that drawing, and becoming all artiste and all..... I was Poohped. Yeah, I just went there. I was Poohped.

And this was a welcome sign......

DSC_1710.jpg

It's like I walked in, and the heavens opened up and the angels collectively sang, "Ahhhhhh!"

This was my first time in the Tune In Lounge. Although we will be eating here in December so I'm sure I will be arriving early with Jeff and my Dad to escape the rest of the crazies (that are my family!).........

Well, actually, the heavens DID open up while we were in there. And there were some wet and squishy people outside (I think Laura among them as she ran off to get a souvvie for her DH). But we were not wet OR squishy inside.

We were happy.

DSC_1711.jpg

We were sated.

DSC_1712.jpg

We were giggly.

But that was our mood for most of the trip.

So gnarly.

I want the bartendar's uniform to be as pretty as the drinks. That's a fairly dowdy uniform she had to wear. The onion rings look delicious. :cloud9:

I've been to WDW during those storms; they may be temporary but man do they come on quickly. :scared1:

Yea- and there is no escape when you get stuck in one- you just have to suck it up.

I agree about her costume- but it does fit the theme, I guess. And those rings are really, really good. I highly recommend! :thumbsup2

The Tune-In Lounge is the bar at 50's PTC- you most likely thought it was just part of the restaurant! But it's a seperate entity, although you can order most, if not all, of that 50's menu there- not sure which drink the pink one was- best guess is a Mowie Wowie.

And I love your location.....Ms. Swan.....:beach:

I think I had the Mowie Wowie and that was the green one...... was the pink one the signature drink of the year?

Blisters maybe. :confused3 Naw, I bet it was to give us something to puzzle about.

Actually, I am surprised she is allowed to walk about in socks. A few years ago, Sarah was sitting on a bench with her shoes off. She stood up to walk a few feet to her dad to hand him something. Before she made it to him, a CM quickly told her she could not walk around without her shoes.

A few years ago while at a small amusement park near here, my sister & I spotted young woman wearing socks like that. By the end of the day all that she had left were the tops of the socks left around her ankles! The funniest thing ever! :rotfl2:

You guys seem to always have so much fun, no wonder there are groupies!

Yeah! Updates! Dismon Groupie checking in.

Ellen, glad all is well on the home front and happy anniversary.

Breakfast at Kouzzina looked great. Somehow we never manage to make it out to breakfast. Either trying to hit rope drop or sleeping in. Might have to change that strategy.

I agree about caatching the boat at the Swolfin. Much faster from the BW. Actually last trip most of time we just walked to DHS and Epcot. I hate waiting for transportation.

Loved the Animation Academy pictures. You all did wonderfully. Last trip I asked the instructor for his as mine was so bad. He signed it and gave it to me.

Socks only was very strange.

Looking forward to more!

I love Buckeyes..... the teams AND the candy!

I am hooked on your TR. As I read your installments, I smile constantly! Love "Single Rider" :thumbsup2

Come on! We all know the shoes are for the peeps in the wheelchairs! This is how they Roll! :rotfl:

Either that or she smacked Cletus upside the head with them and the DIS police impounded them for evidence? :confused3

Are those light up ice cubes in the drinks? Yummo! :thumbsup2

Great update ladies! :goodvibes

Kouzzina is a great place for breakfast. Those waffles looked amazing.

We love Tune-In Lounge. One of me and my DH's favorite watering holes while at Hollywood Studios. We always make a stop in there for some refreshments.

And knock on wood, but we have not been caught in rain like that while we have been down there. Let's hope that trend continues.

So, what's up next. . . . . . .popcorn::

Ok- if you say so! I truly have no idea- I just remember not being all that impressed and thinking next time I'm going back to a mojito- but I'll miss the flashy cube!

Well, that's interesting, and that makes sense- someone with barefeet walking behind someone who breaks glass somehow and Disney gets sued (I HATE that mentality- makes me crazee!!). I wonder if if sock girl was also told to get some shoes on at some point.

Hi there! :thumbsup2

Ellen, glad all is well on the home front and happy anniversary.

Breakfast at Kouzzina looked great. Somehow we never manage to make it out to breakfast. Either trying to hit rope drop or sleeping in. Might have to change that strategy.

We never did, either- just couldn't see getting up earlier for eggs and sausage I could have at home- but when I saw Kona's breakfast porn, all that changed for me! Now we have breakfast somewhere at least once a trip.

I agree about caatching the boat at the Swolfin. Much faster from the BW. Actually last trip most of time we just walked to DHS and Epcot. I hate waiting for transportation.

Me too! I'd much rather be busy hoofing it!

Loved the Animation Academy pictures. You all did wonderfully. Last trip I asked the instructor for his as mine was so bad. He signed it and gave it to me.

Thanks! Can't wait to see who I'll be drawing next!

Awww....that's AWESOME!! Nothing is better than making someone smile! :goodvibes Thanks for telling us!

I think this will have to remain one of life's great mysteries for us all....

Are those light up ice cubes in the drinks? Yummo! :thumbsup2

Yes- didn't they make the drinks look so pretty?

Great update ladies! :goodvibes

I agree wholeheartedly!:thumbsup2

ARe there other bars? Does Mama Melrose have one? I've never been inside there, so I don't know....

And knock on wood, but we have not been caught in rain like that while we have been down there. Let's hope that trend continues.

You'd better knock on some wood, girlfriend- you just tempted fate! :rotfl:

So, what's up next. . . . . . .popcorn::

Hmmmm...yes, it IS puzzling!

Oh how far behind I am.....Yes Kouzzina was awesome. I loved my waffle. I am a fan of sweet vs savory although the marscapone cheese helped cut the sweet just a bit. Really we have women stop us and give us high fives for taking the time for ourselves. We did have the fuddy duffy couple behind us. They definately were not morning people. I did learn one thing this week, always have your camera out as you never know when a photo opportunity would present itself.
Yes walking over the swalphin was a great idea because it burned off that breakfast and let us chat more. :) Really we all got a long wonderfully. Pulling into HS on the boat was great. No lines and right on to RnRC. This is one of my favorite rides. I love a good rock song and a loopy roller coaster--heck yes! We did sing single rider song as we blew thru the queue. Seriously it is the only way to do a ride. We went so fast one time we never saw the opening movie..We did do it two times in a row, then over to TOT. Now I had my 3 year old ride this last fall so my last ride was not to enjoyable. She loved it but I was terrifed that she was going to fly out. But this time no worries, we only on how many times we would get dropped. My little camera didn't do the photo justice but Kara's shows Joan's and my hair flying up. Laughed the whole time.
The art of animation was a great break from the adventure. I never knew how easy it was to draw. My girls are still amazed that I drew winnie. Now i have a future in all drawing at our house and face painting...but that is another tail.
Oh Ellen--One man's dream.....that was a killer no matter who you are. I cried. don't know why but it just moved me. Loved all the inspirational quotes. Glad I had tissues but we don't dwell on tears for too long as it was off to the bar!!!!
I have the collection of those light up cubes. I do think mine as a mowie wowie. Very yummy!

The skies opened up at this point. We were grateful for being in side. Well they were. I have to run over to Star Tours to pick up a souvie for DH. Why would a DisMom do such a thing---well because it was DH birthday and I had a little twang of guilt. While in the store the sky opened up like the behind the scenes tour. No really it was like buckets of water being poured out of the sky. I needed to get back to the tune in lounge and what dis'er would be complete with out the $$store poncho. So out it came and I was a a drowned mom when I got back and of course it stopped raining. I think it may have been the heavens telling me to forget about those at home and enjoy the moment. Wish I would have listened.....LOL
We started to head back to the room as it looked like rain for the rest of the day and we had ressies at Saana that night. Yes it rained again when we got back off of the boat. Really it rained sooooo hard.

You guys are famous. My daughter and I opened DHS Saturday morning. We were at the boat launch to go to Epcot and after the people had gotten off and were walking up the ramp the gentleman in front of me said "There goes the DISMOMS."

That is so cool! The moms are gathering a cult following!:cool1:
