I read a brochure a few years back and was impressed, but since it's just DH and I, and I'm a fairly seasoned world traveller, and obsessive planner/budgeter I just figured I could do better on most tours on our own and see what we want.

Recently I heard about the Back Stage Magic Tour and thought, hmm that could be interesting.

Today I read about it and WOW do we HAVE to go on it!

We are already planning WDW for our 10th anniv in Dec 2012 and 2011 is out, so it's going to have to be later in 2013. Any idea if this tour will still be offered then?

I saw about the Dis Unplugged version, we will sign up if you do one in 2013!

If you've been on it, do tell more, show pictures, etc. DH and I just watched a DVC promo dvd recently and drooled over the part where they toured Disney Archives. This portion of the trip is enough to sell me, let alone Walt's Apt, backstage at WDI and D Studios. Plus I've only done DL pre CA Adv, DH has never done either, so that'd be awesome too.

I read some of the trip reports and am super excited.

There is no guarantee what will and will not be offered in a couple of years, but the Backstage Magic tour is one of the most popular ones that ABD offers. If you go to the Sticky at the top of the page that says "Links to ABD Trip Reports", you can scroll through and find several trip reports on Backstage Magic. Here is the link as well http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2167714

:thumbsup2 You beat me to it! Good job. :goodvibes

Sayhello

Have not done this trip yet but plan to early next year.Have done other ABD's and whats nice is at the beginning of each adventure you check your bag and brain with Disney and seat back and enjoy.Like it was said this a very popular trip and you will only see things that are strictly Disney, no other tour company would be allowed to go behind the scenes because it is Disney.

thanks,

I already looked through that thread, was just hoping for more info.

I agree that this tour is definetely a Disney only thing, that's what's got me soooo excited. It's like going to the Motherland or something, lol.

This was the first ABD I did and it was awesome, I would say 90% of the things on this tour you cannot do on your own as the places you go and things you do are not open to the General Public. I enjoyed it so much I am going to do it again, in either 2012 or 2013 It is one of the most popular and also has the most repeat guests.

I'm planning a 2013 trip as well! We are counting on this tour still being available. I know it seems far away but time flies! My best friend and I are taking this trip to celebrate our 40th birthdays.

2013 will be my 40th Birthday as well, lol
We should plan on the same trip and celebrate Mickey style!

I think the 2012 prices just came out if I remember right. I don't know about fluctuating prices. It does give a price range. I'd assume the cruises are based on the cruise season you are in?

Oops, thought the 2012 were out.

We have 2 friends that now want to go with us in 2013. Keepin' our fingers crossed they have it again!

This tour just sounds so wonderful and special. :tinker:

I did the Backstage Magic in December 2008. I really enjoyed it, but there are things we did not do that later BSM tour groups were able to do.

The DIS Unplugged tours have been very popular. Enough so that I would think they would continue to do this in 2012. I am purely speculating, of course.

I am currently booked on the first non-Backstage Magic ABD trip they are doing, and I am beyond excited. :)

What is the non-backstage magic tour? I haven't seen that one listed.

Thanks for the info. At this point Backstage Tour is more interesting to Hubby and I than Knights & Lights, plus we need to do this in 2013 regardless, so keep those Sept spots open for someone else, lol!

We have 2 friends who are committed to 2013 too, so let's work on a Dis Backstage Tour for 2013 Kevin :cool1:

As everyone is eagerly awaiting the August announcement of 2012 Adventures and pricing, I would expect that we wont hear about 2013 until August 2012.

As others have said, I expect that the Backstage Magic Adventure will continue to be offered.

Is there a possibility of a ABD for Canada? So some could tie it in with a 5 night Canada cruise? (Which we just happened to be booked! :))
