Reservation question for Palo Brunch/Tea

Hello Cruisers,
So, we reached the 75 day mark on Monday and found that Palo brunches and teas were already full for our 7 day MR cruise.

Does anyone know how much space they hold for on board booking?

We really wanted to do one of each in addition to the dinner.

Thanks!

Nobody here knows for sure - it's only guesses. I've heard some people say as many as 50%, but I'm not sure that's a reliable number.

But, make sure you keep checking back daily. For instance, for my particular cruise, there were NO dinner Palo reservations for the night we wanted, and today, there was. So just keep checking back, and if you don't get one, just head on over to Wavebands when you get on board and see if you can get one then. ;)

I guess checking for this along with my stateroom assignment gives me something to do!

I'm in your same boat! I'm trying to CHANGE our brunch Palo ressies and switch for a different day, but that day wasn't available when we were able to start booking Palo and still isn't. But if we keep our date the way it is, then we'll be going to Palo on the same day for brunch AND dinner! Has anyone ever done that before? Does it feel like "too much" Palo in one day? :confused3

So, I too am constantly watching like a hawk for that brunch date to open up as well as to find out our room assignment. Hopefully both of us will get lucky on both accounts! ;)

I wish DCL would save your reservation number so I don't have to re-enter it along with my bday every time.

I gotta admit... it's REALLY helped me solidify EXACTLY what FH's birthdate is. I mean, I always knew the month, but when we first got engaged, I have to admit, I couldn't remember exactly what year he was born, and sometimes, wasn't sure on the exact date (yes... I'm a horrible fiance! LOL!) But now, after logging into the Disney site nearly everyday for the last several months, I've got it DOWN! LOL! :lmao:

I just got off the 4 night Dream July 1-5. I had looked online several times for Palo's champagne brunch and couldn't get a reservation. We wanted to send my parents for their 40th anniversary. On day 2 onboard I called Palo and left a message asking for a day 4 brunch reservation, also explaining the anniversary. The woman working there called me back THREE times to make and confirm a reservation with me. My parents said it was great...made them want to not look at food again, there was so much of it. Hope it works out for you! Enjoy the Dream!!

Totally.

With regard to Palo reservations, KEEP CHECKING. For the longest time, there was no availability on our cruise next week, but just the other day, there were some openings on a sea day. Yay for that. I think that as the actual sail date approaches, people firm up their plans and give up reservations that they made awhile ago that no longer fit their schedule.

Good luck!

They only release 50% of Palo reservations online at the 120 day mark, but not all of the other 50% are available when you board. They hold a certain amount for concierge guests and only after they have had the chance to book them, are any of those not used released to everyone else. Be sure to have your name put on the waitlist if you board and find there are no reservations available.

You may find it easier to change the date of your dinner reservation, as there are more days to choose from...but I bet you already thought of that and want to keep the dinner date for a specific reason.

Both on the same day would be OK if you have 8 hours between! AND swim and run the stairs and hit the gym....no napping after brunch...:lmao:

LOL! Well, we got the 8 hours in between covered... can't speak for the rest though. ;)

Yeah, we actually had our dinner res on a different night, but switched today to the night we wanted, but it just happened to be the same day as our Palo brunch. So, I'll see if we can switch our brunch res on board, and I'll keep looking daily to see if a brunch opens up on the day we really want. If not, then we'll just do them both on the same day... and swim, run and excercise in between.... or not. ;)

I am going to go and book my brunch (hopefully) the minute we get on the ship if I can't get the reservation online.

Seriously.

We booked last minute for Alaska and the only dinner we could get was the first night. Well, that was fine, except the brunch that we managed to get was the first morning. Therefore, we had dinner at approximately 8pm and brunch at about 11am the next morning. Ooooffph!

We joked with our server that if they could just provide us with pillows and blankets at Palo, we really had no reason to leave after dinner! :rotfl:

It was not how we would have planned it in an ideal world, but back-to-back Palo is better than no Palo, y'know? :goodvibes

Also, Makayna, you may want to look at switching that dinner if you can. Brunch as take a while (which is fine, it's wonderful, beautiful, and enjoyable). I think if you have brunch and dinner on the same day, a large portion of your entire day is going to go to being in Palo and not doing much else. Just something to think about.

That's kinda how we felt about it too. The only brunch and dinner we could get for our upcoming cruise were on the exact same day! LOL! So, we'd have brunch at 11am and then come back at 8:30 for dinner! I was amazed though when a brunch on the other sea day opened up at the exact time we wanted, so I snatched that up real quick so now, they're on different days, but I feel the same way you do - get what you can. Two B2B Palo ressies are better than no ressies at all! ;)

Oh, I'm sorry. When I read this:

I thought you had brunch and dinner on the same day. I must be mis-reading it. Sorry for any confusion, I was trying to help. :goodvibes

We were going to. But I got it switched. :cool1:

Basically, we wanted dinner on a particular night, but that happened to be the only day that Palo Brunch was available. So, we took it! But, our diligence in checking the site and checking the site and checking the site paid off because a brunch on a different day opened up, so I snatched it. But, we WERE going to have both Brunch and Dinner on the same day. And if we had, we would have LOVED it, even though it wasn't ideal. Again, because two Palo meals in the same day is better than no Palo meals at all. ;)

Ha! Similar situation for us on the same cruise. We have dinner night 4 (which I wanted) and had been hoping for brunch day 3, but got it for day 5 instead. I just keep looking to see if we can switch brunch from that day to day three because otherwise its going to be Palo dinner with souffle, go to sleep stuffed, then 14 hours later brunch at 10:30a ... that's a lot of rich food in for two meals in a row. But we really want to experience both after seeing everybody's pictures on these threads we're just drooling over the buffet, and souffle is something we drive to the far corners of the island for here, so we absolutely have to try it on board when we can walk to it!
You're spot on than 2 Palo meals at imperfect times better than no Palo!

We're also doing dinner on night 4 (at 8:30) and we also wanted that specific night (Formal Night). Sounds like that's a pretty popular choice. ;) I hope another day 3 brunch comes available for you. :)

We have always been able to snag Palo ressies when we board. Just head over to Wavebands straight away. I am a planner so I understand not having the ressies prior to leaving...I know it bothered me. No worries though...bet you will get everything you want! We have never been able to get early dining either and have always been able to change that too upon boarding. :thumbsup2
