Some great things coming to ABD...

Hi Folks,

I was invited to California to meet with ABD and share ideas regarding some new things planned.

While I'm not yet able to share the details, I think you will excited about them.

I'm sure that none of you will be surprised to learn that the folks from ABD are very familiar with these discussion boards.

We have also been invited to take a "hard hat" preview tour of Aulani this coming Monday.

We will have details, photos and interviews to share.

Looking forward to your hard hat report. I've driven over to Aulani and taken the DVC tour but haven't been inside the main part of the hotel. I've got ressies for the grand opening and can't wait until next month.

Any Idea when you will be able to share - we head off for ADB number 3 in two weeks time, but have been looking at Tauck Bridges for 2012.
They have 2012 dates and prices already listed and some dates fully booked.
I have heard that this years locations and details dont get released until the end of August this year... and as Hawaii isn't top of my list yet.. I wonder if its worth waiting?

I'm not sure of a release date as of yet.

It's my understanding that contracts are still being signed.

It's also my understanding that ABD may be making some positive changes to certain things.

I'm sorry I'm not able to be more helpful in your decision making.

I'm reading some announcements will be made Aug 19th during D23. Now I don't know if that means nothing until that time or the "special" announcement regarding some positive changes.

We also wished to book another ABD (Southwest Splendors) but they will not release the dates and we have to plan our vacations so far in advance that we booked a Tauck Bridges tour for next year. I do wish that ABD would compete on time line like other family tour groups.

This was part of our discussion during our meeting and this thread and post have already been brought to their attention.

It's too bad that business is sent to a competitor for this reason.

It does seem like this is some low-hanging fruit for improvement. My inbox has been flooded with offers over the past few weeks from every tour company except ABD. Tauck, Tauck Bridges, Tompson Family, Classic Journeys, Linbald, and Globus......Most are revealing 2012 dates and offering good discounts if I go ahead and book. The rest are letting me know what's still available for this year, and offering me even bigger discounts on those trips. But from ABD....silence.

Maybe they have had so much response this year that they don't have any openings left and aren't worried about next year either?

Sigh, we always have to plan about a year in advance (which is why DVC works pretty well for us). It'd be great if ABD could release information earlier!

I'm not defending ABD for taking their good ol' sweet time, but other than Costa Rica, Tauck hasn't put up any 2012 Culturious tours yet either. Those look like comparable swaps for several of the ABD adults-only trips.
