WDW and our postal strike

I called in this morning to pay off my balance. :banana:

But...sad news....the CM tells me that they are aware of our postal strike and as a result they are holding back the mailed out packages. She did say that a decision will be made in approx 2 weeks as to the possibility of send out the documents.

Total bummer.....I love getting that envelope.
 
We leave in a week and while I have recieved my DME package I have not recieved my package from disney with there luggage tags and the package vouchers. Do they still mail out that package? I have not been to disnay since 2008 and they did then but I could have changed since. Maybe it is due to the postage strike like you say too.

But with the strike over, should they not be sending them?? I am confused!!
 


That's odd that the Disney call center agent would say that. I booked a couple of families for Disney last Saturday, and we received all their WDW documents in the office on the Wednesday :confused3
 
I'd call again. Sometimes you get a CM who is misinformed. Did you inform the CM that you spoke with that the Postal Strike had in fact been settled quite some time ago?

Yep...they still give you all the vouchers. Don't know about the luggage tags for this year.

What she said was that there was a note that she was required to inform me of and then went into the whole thing about documents and the mail. I did tell her that the strike had ended a couple of weeks ago....she then said that she didn't know anything other than what was on her screen and apologized. She also said that if I did not receive my documents that the resort conceirge would arrange to provide me with everything.

Perhaps it's just an old message that they hadn't removed from my reservation. That would be really nice. I'll miss that little boost of excitment if I don't get the package.

Hopefully, the DME package will arrive soon too. That's the one that usually comes via UPS.

It contains luggage tags and vouchers for the arcade, boat rental, fishing, mini golf, Planet Hollywood and a some others things (that I can't remember right now).
 
Any chance of undercovertourist.com park tickets not making it to Ontario in the next 2 weeks? Is the post office that screwed up?

I would call Undercovertourist and let them know you haven't received them yet, and explain we just had a postal strike and you're worried you won't receive your tickets in time. I don't know if it's possible, but maybe they can cancel the ones they sent and mail new tickets to your resort? I believe their office is in Florida.

I don't think it's that screwed up.... got an envelope from NY, NY today that was post marked July 5th. Based on what has been in my mail box lately I would say that any old items involved in the strike are still slowly coming through but new items mailed after it ended are coming through as normal. Just my theory. :confused3

How frustrating!:sad2: we are in Calgary-Ab and so many things are delayed for us to. I ordered a few things for our new point and shoot for our upcoming trip, and it's been weeks since it should have been here. I'm just thankful that our trip is still far enough away we should hopefully get all this on time.

Keeping fingers crossed things make it to you, I know there is still a huge delay for us.

My DME package came on Tuesday via UPS. So here's hoping that the other package arrives this week. If it doesn't arrrive I don't think I'll bother calling.....not really worth the long distance phone charge. I'll get everything when I get to the resort.

So in the mean time I'll just be :surfweb:
 
I saw this thread last week but I've been preoccupied and haven't had the chance to post. Anyways, I was pretty concerned about not getting my ME tickets or vouchers, but the great news is that I have both!!! I got my ME tickets last Thursday (14th) and then the Disney coupons/vouchers etc... on Tuesday (19th). Neither one arrived via UPS. One was sent regular mail and one was sent express through USPS. I happen to live in an area that UPS does not deliver to. There was a slight problem with my ME tickets as we switched resorts about a month ago and they had the wrong resort printed on them. I called Disney and they said that they would mail me new ones but that it really doesn't matter because they have it noted on their end. I have to collect my own luggage as I am arriving after 10 but once I check in with ME I will be taken to the correct resort.

That's good to hear.....so based on your time line I might see my resort package on Monday. I've always had my DME via courier and the resort package via USPS.
