Disneyworld or Disney World?

Interesting topic!

Well, both of these places are proper nouns so they need to be capitalized:

Walt Disney World
Disneyland
Disney World (abbreviation for Walt Disney World)

The official name of the location in FL is Walt Disney World while the one in California is Disneyland. You could also add "Resort" to both of these.

Now, let's not get into the abbreviations for the attractions. :rotfl:

NikkiBell has it exactly right.

I'm kind of a stickler about these things and I cringe when I see them written wrong for some reason. :scared1:

Like Nikki said, Walt Disney World is written in three separate words while Disneyland is written as one.

An interesting note is that Walt Disney World's working title was Disney World, but after Walt died, Roy added Walt's first name to name of the resort, in tribute.

I am a stickler for this as well. My eyes actually hurt when I see Disneyworld. Of course it also hurts my ears when people ask if I'm going to Disney World or Epcot. Ugh!

I do remember learning about the tribute.
