Just got back from vacation a couple days ago. We stayed at Pop Century, and we had breakfast reservations at Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Resort, and it was absolutely fantastic! I had the the Tonga Toast, three words: Best. Breakfast. Ever. After that we all walked down to the pool, and sat around and relaxed for awhile! Very pleasant and peaceful! We didnt swim or anything, I don't want anyone to think we were pool hopping, we just sat by the pool. I really hope we could stay here someday :) I highly recommend everyone to try this once!

We have breakfast reservations for Kona as well. I love their dinner menu and have heard so many great things about the Tonga Toast that I had to book it. I'm glad you had such a great time :goodvibes

The Tonga Toast is THE BEST!!! FYI if you don't want to take the time for a table service breakfast, Captain Hook's (counter service) at the Polynesian also serves Tonga Toast - they have outside seating as well - makes for a nice brekafast!

They also have our 2nd favorite character breakie (with vacation Mickey and Stitch). Served family style so the food is always fresh. Excellent....

Captain Hook's (counter service) at the Polynesian also serves Tonga Toast -

BTW, it's "Captain COOK'S" (as in someone who cooks food.)

Captain HOOK is, well, someone else. ;)

We also love Kona's for breakfast. It is quite delish. The Poly is a very relaxing resort.

Yes this absolutely - Captain Cook's. Our monorail stop on the way to MK. A MUST Do for me.

But---but---Robo, what a wonderful thought! How easy would it be for WDW to transform Capt. Cook's into Capt. Hook's! We would finally have the villain restaurant we have all been agitating for. I'm OK with it being CS (and I love the food as it is; no changes please). Hook and Peter Pan fit well within the general Polynesian theming anyhow, so............. Ah, well, we can dream.

I am not traveling until next Summer, but I am wondering first how early I should make Breakfast reservations at Kona for a 9:00 am Rope Drop (will 7:00 am do it?) at Epcot? And how early to leave for the restaurant in the morning. I think we would drive to the TTC and Monorail first to Poly then to Epcot.

Any thoughts? Thanks! We are looking forward to some Tonga Toast!

After you park at the TTC, I think it'll be faster to just walk to the Poly instead of taking the monorail from the TTC to the Poly stop. And after breakfast, I would just walk to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot.

We are headed to DW next year at Christmas and Kona Cafe is deinfately on our list! I had never heard of the Tonga Toast until recently, but I had my eye on the macadamia pancakes. Now it might be a tough decision as to which one to order!

Tonga Toast = way too sweet. :duck:

At least for my taste.

After you park at the TTC,

1- I think it'll be faster to just walk to the Poly instead of taking the monorail from the TTC to the Poly stop.

2- And after breakfast, I would just walk to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot.

1- I'd say, not so much.
Especially since the monorail exits already on the second floor, just a few feet from the Kona.

2- But THIS I do agree with. As the Resort monorail must make the complete loop around Seven Seas Lagoon (with 3 additional stops) before making it back to the TTC.

Thank for the advice Joe and Robo!

Oh, I know! The macademia nut pancakes looked sooo good as well, It was hard deciding between Tonga Toast and those pancakes!

Tonga Toast is the BOMB, a must have for me on every trip! POly is my fave resort, you cant beat the tropical, laid back feel! Cant wait to be back in Sept!

Before staying at the Poly I was a WDW commando but once we stayed at the Poly we started taking daily pool breaks in the afternoon and what a difference it makes!

Kona Cafe is a "must do" on every trip! We ate breakfast there for the first time in May: DS had the tonga toast and I had the macadamia nut pancakes:cloud9: We love their dinner menu and enjoy the more relaxed feel there as compared to O'Hana's.
