So it didn't work last year...

I'm going to try again this year! Last year I wanted to do a live trip report on my Ipad. I bought an AT&T simcard off of the web and had it ready to go once we were in the USA. Once we got to WDW, I put the card in and then remembered, I need a wifi connection to get online so I can subscribe to one of their data plans, so we ended up getting a taxi to a place I knew that had wifi. Once we were there, I chose a plan, entered in a credit card number and the address of the hotel and hit submit. It told me that I needed to fill in the address, which I had just done, but I tried it again. No luck that time either. With the cab waiting outside for me, I ended up giving up and we went back to WDW. I didn't get to do my live TR.

We're driving down this time, so we'll have more freedom to go wherever we need to go. Any ideas on what I should do here? Should I try and go directly to an AT&T kiosk/store somewhere? Should I try a different address? It asked for an American address, so I just picked the one I had handy. Have any of you put a different sim card in your Ipad when traveling and if so, how did it work? Thanks for any answers! :goodvibes

The big issue, if I recall correctly, is that AT&T wants a US address associated with your credit card to activate an iPad prepaid plan.

One way around this is to stop by a Walgreens or Grocery Store in Florida and pick up a prepaid credit card, and then register it online with say, your hotels address. Alternatively, any Citizens Bank of Canada prepaid VISA card can also be activated with a US address, and you should be able to pick them up at any Loblaws or Metro store before you head to the states. (it'll show Canada as the country, but you can enter a State and ZIP code no problem. I use one for my Hulu subscription).

I'll have to try the Walgreens route, as Loblaws, Citizen Bank and Metro are all Ontario/Quebec only and I'm in Manitoba. Thanks for the tips! :thumbsup2
