Tom Hanks says Pixar is working on 'Toy Story 4'

I saw that on MSN last night and am rather excited! I am just wondering what angle pixar will move in for the story line.....?

Am I the only one thinking this is not exactly a good idea?
I just think Toy Story 3 wrapped up the whole series so beautifully, I wouldn't want another sequel to exactly get in on that. Pixar is really into making sequels lately, what with the Toy Story sequels, Cars 2, the new Monsters Inc... I miss the individuality of stories, I'd prefer new stories to sequels and revamps of old ones, despite how beautiful TS3 was.

I'm more excited for Brave, the newest individual Pixar movie than another Toy Story movie.

I second this. As much as I enjoyed Cars 2 (not every Pixar movie needs to make me cry), I love the originality of the stories. As much as these sequels can't really be rushed due to the SLOW process of computer animation, and I'm rather disappointed with hints or announcements of sequels.

I understand exactly what you are saying.

They may haved wrapped it up beautifully, but maybe there will be even bigger and better adventures ahead...............

i enjoy all the sequels, but i do have to agree that the individual animations are gems! i definitely wouldn't want to see a Wall-E sequel. its so beautiful the way it is. i truly love each and every Disney Pixar movie, even the sequels, but lets have more individual movies haha

I saw this article this morning.

Toy Story 4 in 2013??? I don't think so! They clearly don't know how long it takes to make a CIG movie. :sad2:

I'm taking this whole thing with a grain of salt. Right now, I can't see Disney*Pixar doing anymore than toying with the idea. (Sorry for the bad pun! ;) )

And what's this about The Incredibles 2? I thought Monsters Inc was the next sequel.

I kind of hope this isn't true. On the one hand, each time they've announced a Toy Story sequel, I doubted Pixar and was proven wrong. But on the other hand, the third movie really felt like the end for these characters.

Having said that, I'd be totally fine with them making Toy Story shorts until the end of time. The Hawaiian Vacation short in front of Cars 2 was charming and funny.

No no no, Pixar, stop with the sequels! I don't want a Toy Story 4 unless they wait several years and make it as great as the first 3. What I would like are more shorts, maybe some 1/2 hour TV specials, along the lines of "Hawaiian Vacation" - I'd love to keep seeing more of the TS characters and universe, but I think at this point that is best done in a shorter, more "casual" format.

I hope Pixar gets back to more new, original stories soon. I wonder if part of the problem is that Andrew Stanton and Brad Bird are both off doing live-action films.

I hate this idea. I loved all 3 TS movies but enough is enough. The last one wrapped the story up beautifully. It brought us full circle, saying goodbye to Andy and seeing the toys start their new lives with a new owner. Now I want to see more original stories from Pixar.

They are not currently working on an Incredibles 2, but they are doing a second Monsters Inc.

While I love the Toy Story trilogy and enjoyed the short before Cars 2, I would be disappointed if a fourth movie was made. The third was tied up so well! I can't see how that storyline could be carried any higher. Please, Pixar, don't pull a Shrek.

Toy story is one of the best movie ever and the 3rd part of this movie is so emotional i little bit cry while watching its third part....

I'll echo the sentiment that hopefully, Toy Story 4 doesn't come to fruition. I hope, based on the other sequels in the franchise, that a new story would be great, but there's no need. The story was tied up so perfectly in the third film, there's no reason to go back to the well. I'd love to be wrong, but I fear that making a fourth would just be a cash grab with little to no creativity.
