Shipping Champagne?

My boyfriend and I are big fans of champagne, but don't really want to spend 75 bucks a bottle in WDW for a champagne we get for $35 (at most) in the stores. We will not have a car during our trip, so I was thinking I could place an order with a store we're familiar with and ship it to our resort. Is that allowed? Has anyone had any experience with shipping booze?

Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

I have had items shipped to me while on vacation at Disneyland before, sent right to the Disney resort and they held it for me until I arrived. You could call your hotel to be sure. It should not matter what you are having sent, I would not think, it is your mail after all.

Although I do not even drink, I have heard good things aobut Wallys Wine and Spirits.

Or you can get some "wine diapers" from amazon 3/$10 and bring your own :)

Shipping alcohol might not be allowed legally. But I search and found there are some stores which deliver the alcohol to your place.

As in US you have to follow a number of rules and get the permission legally to get it shipped. Just check with your country laws or either it online and see if they can ship to the place you want them.

It depends on the state.

OP - You know that you can check your champagne on the flight, don't you? Just pack each bottle in a large zip-loc bag and pack carefully in a suitcase or box.

There are several sites that ship wine. I don't have the address/names of them, sorry. I have ordered wine online before and had it delivered, and there are a few "Wine of the Month" clubs that ship, so it is possible. Maybe not be USmail, but FedX or UPS?

There are hundreds of web sites which ship wine. However, they won't ship from out of state where it is prohibited by law, which includes certain zip codes in Florida.

I have checked shipping to the zip at AKL, and it seems to be fine (no 'that's illegal' red flags.

I have considered taking it with us on the plane, but have visions of broken or exploded bottles in the cargo hold. That would just suck. Plus it's probably cheaper to pay for shipping than to pay for extra luggage... and definitely cheaper than just buying it on-site.

I believe someone 21 or older has to sign for it. Would the resort do that, or should I just have it shipped to arrive after we get there?

I've used wegoshop.com to order groceries delivered to our resort- including beer and wine.

Also, my favorite champagne is at Epcot Italy - Rosa Regale - its a red, berry flavored champagne - delicious, its $20 here in stores, in Italy, it was about the same (2 years ago, not sure now!) So I bought a bottle there and took it to our resort!

so there are choices!

I didn't realize wegoshop had alcohol. I will check it out, thanks!

I love Rosa Regale, but my boyfriend doesn't like it at all. Italy in Epcot was the first place I ever tasted it, actually. I'm sure I'll get a glass while there, but a whole bottle would be a bit much for me alone ;)

Okay, I'm confused about wegoshop. I thought it would be like peadpod, where there's certain things you can choose from -- but I can't find anything like that. Would someone please explain to me how it works? Thank you sooooo much!!! :worship:

its been 2 years since I went, but I went online and picked my date, and told them my resort (I think I googled the address)

I think I just put in granola bars and coffee - oh I wanted to special order a birthday cake and Publix has online specialty cakes!!

Then I got an email return from them, that my date and time was accepted, I think I then called and asked about alcohol - and that we'd be in the resort for the delivery - we had to show our Driver's License...

I used the ad from Publix, but you can tell them where you want to shop - I picked publix because their ad is online. I then called them before we left to add an item I forgot (coffee filters)

we ordered beer, dh wanted Sam Adams, I told them to pick a flavor, just not light beer - they picked a flavor that wasnt available here at the time (noble pils) DH loved it! I picked the wine from the ad - and had no problems

You might want to check out Presecos (Italy champagnes) for under $20 this champagne has a light fruity flavor (not sweet) but lacks that yeasty flavor of some of the cheaper champagnes from California (Korbel for instance)

I mentioned Rosa Regale because to buy a whole bottle was cheaper than 2 glasses of champagne - I have a champagne "cork" that preserves the bubbles for at least a week - I got it at the liquor store for about $5 I think - it could be more...
