everyone, to my second trip report!
I think that using this infamous line from one of our favorite Disney rides is appropriate, because at times this trip definitely felt like something from The Twilight Zone.
This was a trip filled with laughter, sweat, surprises, celebrities, arguments, food...and did I mention laughter? I don't think I've ever laughed as hard in my life as I did on this trip. It was interesting, to say the least, but I am thrilled to share it with all of you!
If you are interested in reading the PTR for this trip the link is in my signature. For those of you who don't know, my DH and I were just in Disney in December 2010, but the amazing military discounts gave us the opportunity to not only visit Disney again, but also to check out Universal Orlando and SeaWorld. This was an unusually long trip for us that lasted nine days, from June 8-17. Perhaps the most exciting part of the whole thing was that I surprised my DH by switching our resort reservations from Port Orleans Riverside to Animal Kingdom Lodge!
I have one last disclaimer before I do the oh so important introductions:
DISers should not read this TR if they are: easily frightened by silly stories and jokes, upset by people with crazy senses of humor, or made ill by an excess amount of photographs.
I think that about covers it. Oh wait, one more thing. You know the rules at Disney! No disco dancing in the aisles!
Yours Truly: Joni, 24. I am a high school English teacher from North Carolina! I am perpetually young at heart, and I have a country accent that will make the Beverly Hillbillies blush. I love my family, my dogs, teaching ,and anything Disney! This was my eighth trip to Disney World, which is pretty impressive if you consider my first trip was in 2007!
My Disney Inventory:
Favorite Movie: Three way tie between The Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast
Favorite Character: Simba
Favorite Park: Disney's Hollywood Studios
Favorite Resort: Animal Kingdom Lodge
Favorite Ride: Rock'n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
Favorite Restaurant: Sci Fi Dine in Theater
Favorite Non-Ride Activity: Animation Academy
Mine Truly: John, 25. This is my lifelong Disney trip companion. I'm such a lucky girl because he also just so happens to be my husband! John is a Green Beret in the US Army. He's tougher than GI Joe and covered in tattoos, but he has a giant heart and loves Disney as much as I do. He's my Prince Charming, and "twitterpated" doesn't even begin to cover how he makes me feel. We've been married for three years this Tuesday, and I am so lucky to have such an awesome partner in crime.
John's Disney Inventory:
Favorite Movie: Robinhood and Swiss Family Robinson
Favorite Character: Pretty much any villian, but mostly Scar and Prince John
Favorite Park: Disney's Animal Kingdom
Favorite Resort: Animal Kingdom Lodge
Favorite Ride: Expedition Everest
Favorite Restaurant: Boma
Favorite Non-Ride Activity: Trading Vinylmations
Trust me, you are going to learn a whole lot more about John and me as this trip report progresses. But now you have a basic idea of the two nuts who embarked on this journey! I hope you enjoy my trip report as much as I am sure I will enjoy writing it and reliving my wild ride!
**Before I begin, I have to thank my dear friend, the other Joni, shelbys_mommy! She gave me the idea for the title after reading my insane texts. Don't worry, you'll find out what it means in due time...
Up Next: "I'm Too Excited to Sleep" isn't as cute the following morning...
Tonight's story is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction...
