Dress Barn

Today I went to Dress Barn for the first time in a long time. I have been trying to find a dress with no success but after asking a mom at my daughter's school where she bought the dress she was wearing I decided to swing by. Much to my surprise I found a lot of dresses that fit me very well. I have a large bust (34G) but a smaller waist which is about a size 10 or 12 so often have a hard time finding clothes to fit. I ended up with one that I really liked.

Anyone else shop at Dress Barn? How do their clothes hold up? Do you find them a good value? I actually liked a lot of the clothes. Some of the tops actually fit me and covered by chest where as many other stores the wrap shirts or lower cut shirts don't cover my chest very well.

Do they ever have sales?

I find most of their clothes to be cheaply made and look just plain tacky. Unless I am a farm animal, I refuse to buy anything for myself from a store that has the name barn in the title.

The name "Barn" is part of the reason I have not gone in there in a long time. :rotfl:

I buy a lot of my clothes there. I have a difficult time finding clothes that fit well because of my bust too and I've found that they are one of the few places that design clothes for women who have hips, a waist and a bust. I've found that overall their clothes hold up well. The outfit I have on today is one of my summer staples and I bought it about 4 years ago and it still looks good.

I wait and hit the clearance racks off season and just hold on to stuff. I've gotten some great deals that way.

I shop there often. I'm a plus size and there aren't too many places in my area that sell better quality plus size clothing.
I've got several pairs of shorts that held up for years before they needed to be replaced. And the jeans I bought last winter still look like new.

I have noticed that bottoms and dresses tend to last longer than their shirts but since shirts go in and out of style from year to year, that's ok with me.

I work at a Bank have have to wear suits all the time. Most of my fellow managers shop at Dress Barn. There Jones Wear Suits are great. As for the quality, they sell Calvin Klein , Tahari and several other brands other than there in house brand. Their accesories are great too!! I love this store and so does my 16 yr old DD. Almost all of my clothes come from either Macy's, Ralph Lauren or Dress Barn.

I was actually there today. I bought a couple of dresses (that I will be using on DCL), and a few tops. I find their quality pretty good. They do send out coupons, and I "like" them on Facebook, and they have coupons there.

I went there recently on the recommendation of a friend. I got two adorable sundresses!

I love Dress Barn. Buy tons of work stuff there. They are not crappy clothes, I have had several pieces that I have had for a couple of years.

Maybe their regular wear stuff is lower quality, but their work wear is great.

I like their clothes and find them to be pretty well made. They also have decent clearance sales.
That being said, it took me awhile to get used to the name. I still don't care for the name.

I'm a borderline plus size and have an awful time shopping for clothes that flatter my figure (bigger hips, smaller waist). I went into Dress Barn for the first time on a whim a few months ago and found the perfect skirt and blouse set for an event I was going to attend. I've worn and washed it several times since, and it still looks as good as new. I feel great in it. :wizard:

I first shopped here last month in Johnson City, TN. and picked up a couple of skirts real good price. I am a Coldwater Creek gal and the stuff in Dress Barn was just a nice but at better prices.
