CVS? Did everyone give up on it?

I know the deals haven't been that great, and I've missed several weeks anyway due to *life, but did everyone give up on it? :confused3
IOW I don't see a thread for this week, which makes me kinda sad, even though it would be Friday before I could get there anyway :headache:

I haven't cut back at all. I bought quite a few things this week and spent $2 Oop & got back about $16 in ECB

I go weekly, but I find my own deals..never read the threads....this week I got t.paste for .79 and Hersheys Bliss candy would have been free if they weren't oos:headache: no less than free I had a coupon too...still got enough ECB to go back and get my charcoal briqettes for free....

There are so many couponing websites that do a great job matching up the sales and prices. No offense to the ladies who did an excellent job of maintaining the CVS thread, but it's just easier for me to use IheartCVS or LivingRichWithCoupons to do my matchups and scenarios.

I've been CVSing for several years now. I go at least once a week to pick up something that my family needs and to roll my ECBs.

If you're talking about Flakypuff's (and MaggieW's ) thread, I would imagine that the summer's got the better of them and they're just very busy. I can't even imagine the work that goes into what they do to price match w/ coupons, etc. I do miss the CVS thread though!! :goodvibes

I've cut back on my CVS shopping too..... I did get the Bliss deal (who could resist !!) and the Colgate. I had 2 -$1.00 coupons for Colgate, so they were freebies. Gotta love it ! I did get a bunch of stuff for little $$ or free after the ECB and rolled them into Diet Coke. But lately, there hasn't been a ton at CVS that we've needed . (where the price was good). I kind of find that I've been "shopping the ECB deals" there lately and just getting what was a great deal. :confused3 Gotta watch the pennies where I can!

I was wondering the same thing!!! This is how I found out about CVSing 3 years ago!! Still love it & go weekly (if not bi weekly). I 'm so lucky to have a CVS less than a mile from my house!!! Would be sad to see it not return.

I still go weekly, but my time is much more limited now. I just flip through the flyer and pick out the easy deals to spot. With all the Extreme Couponing hysteria and stuff it just got to be so overwhelming for me. I am competitive in nature and felt like I had to do every deal type of thing. Now I take a much more relaxed approach and just make a quick trip on Sunday mornings (my me time). I do miss a lot of deals, but unless it is something we absolutely need I don't rush out to get it if I missed it.

I still do Rite Aid and CVS every week. If you are looking for a web site with good coupon match ups, I use southernsavers.com.

I haven't been going, but when we g et our quarterly extrabucks in July I'll be looking out for deals. Back in April I managed to get enough toothpaste, shampoo and bodywash to last us through the rest of the year with only $2.10 OOP because of my $16 in ecb and all the sales/coupons.

I just got tired of going and finding the sale items out of stock all the time, so it's not worth the time and gas to continue.

The past two weeks have been very good -- several free items without a lot of work to get them. Hershey's Bliss, toothpaste and toothbrushes this week.

I just let southernsavers tell me what they deals are -- doesn't take much time at all.

This may be slightly off topic and even a dumb question but here goes. Now i've just recently started doing the CVS thing and I am still not quite sure how the ECB work:confused3 I guess my question is How do I go about cashing in my ECB's? and Do I have to only use them towards my next purchase? BTW I did get some toothpaste this week earned 2 ECB:banana:

Love CVS! Just went yesterday and did great.

For the question on ECBs. The ones I earned yesterday, I will use next week when I go. Just remember, you do not get cash back for them as they are "like" a coupon.
Example: If you have a $2 ECB and your total is $1.89, you will not get .11 back.

I used to get upset about that too, but the new me is much more relaxed. I just get rainchecks. CVS has a GREAT raincheck policy and you can use them at any store and they never expire. The nice thing about rainchecks is that they round up when you redeem them. So if the ECB is for $1.89 the raincheck ECB will be $2. And you can still use coupons with your raincheck (so especially worth it for P&G items where there are similar coupons month to month). Also, they are great to redeem when you get the $X/XX coupons. I only seem to get them now during slow weeks, so those rainchecks really come in handy to get my total high enough!

nice to know about the rainchecks...I'll go back today for that Bliss offer....:cool1: I forgot duh- the t.past was free, wasn't it? after ecb and coupon......I have such a good stockpile that I don't go for as much....

This is also why I stopped going. I was never huge into the "CVSing" but I would try to go take advantage of some of their sales.

I also used to get the sale flier at my house. Not anymore; it stopped coming. I could look it up online, but since the store will just be out of all the sale items, I don't bother.

Additionally, they are doing road construction between me and my nearest CVS. Just not worth dealing with.

In addition to them always being out of stock, I was not able to get a raincheck the time I cared enough to ask for one. I was told "we don't give rainchecks for that type of product". (It was toilet paper in that case. :confused3)

Other people on here suggested that I call corporate, but it's not worth it to me. My Walgreens is a much better shopping experience. It's closer, they are rarely out of stock, and it's much easier for me to get to - no road construction!

Hey guys. I have been away at a convention and had no time to check on the DISboards. :scared1: I've been going through withdrawl. ;) But I now have 4 hours to kill in the Cleveland airport, so I thought I would catch up. Sorry I missed being the backup.
