My future husband and I will be going on our Honeymoon next September. We are driving about 24 hours from Mass. to get there, plan to stay at Coronado Springs for 7 nights, 6 days. We are most likely going to be doing the Disney Dining Plan, and a honeymoon registry. Was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of things to do, tips for a couple visiting, ect. This is only my second time visiting, and it will be my DH's first visit ever. What places and things are must do's for first timers? Any advice, input, suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

Congratulations!!!!! Ok, this will sound wierd, but I got all teary eyed reading your post becuase I remember being that excited when I went on my honeymoon to Disney! I am so excited for you! I think getting the Dining Plan is a good idea. We didn't on our honeymoon, but we've gotten the Deluxe Dining Plan when we've gone since then and it is definately worth it. I would also make sure to do the photopass... get as many pictures as you can. You can preorder the cd for $99.00. That way you can get plenty of great photos together on your honeymoon! Remember to ask about magic shots!!! I believe the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival will be going on then, too. If you're a bit of a foodie, you shouldn't miss it. This year, we're doing the Dine With An Imagineer. I haven't done that before, but I think (if you're Disney fans) that might be a fun (more adult) thing to do together. I also recommend the Fantasmic Dinner Package. I guess, it really depends what you guys are into. If the weather is good, we also like to do some of the water sports (especially if its a weekend day and the parks are super crowded). You guys could rent speed boats, go parasailing, etc. I would also recommend the HoopDeeDoo review. We'll see the dinner show and then take a carriage ride around FW. Its a fun, "coupley" thing to do. I would also say... take time to smell the roses (if you can). Sometimes, we'll split an ice cream sundae and just people watch, or enjoy all the beautiful things Disney has. Those moments are surprisingly some of our favorite memories.

THank you so much for all the advice. We are planning on the first week in September so I don't know if the festival would be starting yet! We are going to be registering our honeymoon and plan to add the speed boats and parasailing to that. I think it would make a great wedding gift ;) :yay:

I have actually looked into the Hoop Dee Doo show and definitely think I would love to do it! PLus, they have sangria included in their buffet, would is my absolutely favorite!!!!

I truly cannot wait for our honeymoon :) Thank you so much for the congratulations!! We are both so excited to go and enjoy time together. We have been together just over two years and have only had the opportunity to go on one vacation together. We just want to enjoy our time together. While i cannot wait to go on some of the rides, I want a more relaxing Disney stay since this is our one and only honeymoon. I hope to go back again since we have family and some friends who have moved to Florida, and have double excuses to go:thumbsup2

Do you know how many credits from the dining plan the show would cost? I believe i read it was 2 table service credits, but just wanted to double check.:thumbsup2

I can't really remember... I thought it was 2 credits/per person. However...if you use your DP for the HoopDeeDoo, your seats aren't as good. So, last trip we payed OOP for it (it came to $124.00 for both of us) and we were right by the stage... in fact, I actually got pulled up on stage (there is a lot of audience participation at the HoopDeeDoo). It was more fun up close. Unfortunatly, Dine With An Imagineer isn't yet available using the DP, but If you are interested, I'll let you know when we get back, if its worth it ($64.96/pp). Also, forgot to mention it... make sure you let Disney know when you book that you'll be there for your honeymoon!!!! They do a few neat things for you when they know! You will have a great time no matter what!

THANK YOU! That is interesting about the seating thing. Might have to talk to the future hubby about this one. Just to know ahead of time is that with or without tip? Just to get a ball park of what would be OOP for us. We are trying to not pay too much OOP once we have everything booked, but this could change since we are going to be doing the honeymoon registry and just registering for a few other things, in hopes that people will realize that the honeymoon would be a great gift if everyone participated. Sorry if that sounds selfish, but paying for our entire wedding ourselves and all invited pretty much know this, so a few extras on the honeymoon would be nice! We have enough saved to afford it, but I really don't need bath towels or kitchen appliances, so why registry for that kind of stuff?

Forgot one more thing... sorry... I'm just super excited for you guys. We got a book called "The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World" by Susan Veness. It gives you fun stuff to find at WDW that not everyone knows about (although, some info in the book is outdated). It gave us stuff to look for when we were just wandering, or standing in lines. The Hidden Mickeys book is also good for that too. We try to find new things each trip (we call it our "path to enlightenment").

Sounds good!! I planned on getting the latest unofficial guide to disney world also, so two books is it! :) I am getting more and more excited as I read everything on here that I really don't want to have to wait sooo long to go!!:scared1:

I wish I'd known about the honeymoon registry when we got married! That would have been so much better. I would up getting stuff I can't use and feel guilty about throwing away! About paying for the HoopDeeDoo OOP, you still pay for it in advance when you book, so, yes, technically it IS OOP, but when you are actually there its not like you get a check at the end of your meal... so it feels less OOP. The price for the HoopDeeDoo includes the gratuity. The only other Dining experience we've done that also includes gratuity is Cinderella's Royal Table. Here is a link for the 2012 DDP. It tell about the plan and if you scroll down to page 4 it lists all the restaurants with the codes telling all about them. Hope it helps!

Oh my gosh! Thank you so much :) You have been such a big help. I really appreciate it :) I know I thought the registry thing would be awesome. Because of mine and my fiance's circumstances, once we are married we are going to be stay at my parents for about a year or so while saving for a down payment and searching for a house. We don't really want to register for like appliances and stuff because we won't need to use them yet, and if there is anything wrong with them, returning everything would be a lot harder a YEAR from when we receive them. They have so many great things you can register for for the honeymoon. I'm no sure what I am more excited about the wedding or DISNEY!:yay:

I was definately more excited about the honeymoon. For me, the wedding was about everyone else... the honeymoon was about the symbolic start of our marriage and life together. What a better place to make that start than Disney World. In fact, I was just a little irritated (after the fact) that we had to waste a whole day for a wedding that could have been spent at Disney! Of course, we had actually eloped 4 months before the "wedding." So the wedding was just a way for family to feel connected and involved. And even a wedding like ours STILL had drama. UGH! We would have rather been at WDW!!!

I completely agree with you! We are having a very laid back and relaxed wedding compared to most of the other family weddings we have attended. Stinks a little but we are getting married in June, taking a few days away at some place local, then disney is September! So we even have to wait a couple extra months after the wedding to enjoy it!

agreed! I no some people don't "get" the registry, but it really helps with cost if you don't need a ton of traditional type items. That being said, I decided agains the Disney one because I found it to limiting for my needs- just a thought. We did a "wish" one that worked well with our Theme about Disney, Wishing on a star, etc- and it was great- we can put house stuff and honeymoon stuff on it- just a thought (we used www.uponourstar.com).

Also- make sure you have dinner at La Hacienda- amazing food and best margaritas (In Epcot!)

This is really interesting! I never thought to look at something like this. I am checking out the web site right now. How exactly did you coordinate combining the honeymoon and home things?

We took our honeymoon at Disney World in January 2008 and are planning to go back to celebrate our 5 year anniversary next year (2012). We were married in November 2007 so I understand how hard it is to wait for your honeymoon. The first thing we did was get the "Just Married" button that is provided at guest services. You get some special attention from the cast members. Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy your honeymoon to the fullest.

Aww hope you have an amazing time!!

WE OFFICIALLY BOOKED THE HONEYMOON TODAY!! 6 nights/7days at Coronado Springs :):banana:

We are both sooo excited. I have heard, though, that they no longer give out the Just MArried buttons. I found a web site online that can sell them though, but I am not sure if it is a scam or they just have some left over or something. We will see what happens. I did make just married t-shirts for the two of us though ;)

Congrats on both your wedding and booking your honeymoon!!!! I haven't heard anything about no more bottons, I think it's a scam so you buy them their used bottons. If in doubt you can always ask the moms at WDW Moms panel.

I just organized it by categories- "our home", "honeymoon", "gifts", etc- it is super easy!

Really? hmmm that is interesting. I have heard such mixed stories about this one. :confused3 I think I might just buy them online because I would love them, and don't want to risk them not having them when we get there.

I JUST called WDW res. (because I'm a total dork) and asked about the celebration buttons. The girl I spoke with said as far as she knew they were still giving them out. she had heard that they were planning to faze them out eventually but hadn't heard when as of yet. Julie... if you want some "Just Married" Buttons I can try to pick some up for you when I go this Sept. just in case they do faze them out...I know you don't really know me but I just thought I'd offer. When we went for out anniversary it was nice to wear them! Also, worst case... you can always get the bride/groom ears. More annoying to wear (imho), but gets the point across!
