guests seem to feel more entitled, i felt sorry for some of the castmembers................food portions are getting smaller (or the plates are getting bigger).......its hot down there.............i may never stay anywhere but Wilderness Lodge again...........you could sneak an A-bomb in there for all the security guys at the gate would know.............touringplans.com does not know what they are talking about..........the bus and boat drivers were strangely silent on rumor this year...................they should go back to charging for nighttime EMH.......and a Universal note, they greatly underestimated the demand for their product after The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened, it would support a 300 acre park of its own, and i am not a fan......

And I am not renewing. That being said, anyone know where I gan go to check ACCURATE park levels?

There's another site I follow that seems to be MUCH more accurate than touringplans - but I'm not sure if it's ok to post the link. You can PM me if you want the info! :thumbsup2

Totally agree with almost all of it. People suck- could never work with the public anywhere. Security needs to quit wasting our time- they are not fooling any of us. Touring plans was WAAAAY WRONG for our last 5 trips, as well as Disney CM that gave me advice crowds this year. Glad I went with MY instincts. Wilderness Lodge....I wish I knew.lol. Wizarding world we must have caught a perfect day because I have heard HORROR stories- we went in September on a Wednesday, and had NO problem. But even with no crowds, and only a 25 minute line for their main ride in the casle, walking around was tough. It is way too small- they definately underestimated it. I expected more....

I agree about Touring Plans. It used to be far more accurate than it is now. Just goes to show, even algorithms and fancy computer software can't predict human behavior.

People feel more entitled just about everywhere IMHO, not just at WDW......My mom and I were just talking today about how there is less Sweet n' Low in a pack than there used to be......but maybe the package is just smaller.....Florida in mid-June? No thank you, it's hot enough here.....WL? Too lodgey for me, I like palm trees out my window...Security...no incidents or bombs in MK that I know of.....they do a good job.....touringplans predictor guys trained by weatherman IMHO....bring back E-ticket nights, ITA.....boat driver guys :( ....love their rumors. Universal...never been...never want to....not surprising they mis-judged. :teeth: Hope you had a great time!

Agree with all except the Security situation. There are times and we experienced this in May they do very intensive searches.

Also according to many that work security the searches are being watched from someone that you have no idea is watching you. Lots of time its about behavior and body language.

As to the entitlement problem, definitely yes. I cringe everytime I read a thread about a parent that disregards where they as the parent want to stay at Disney and allows a young child to make that decision. In fact this subject was discussed on the Today show. It really is ok, to tell your child No, you can not have that.

And yes I so wish they would go back to E-Ticket nights. :thumbsup2

As to Touringplans crowd levels, is everyone finding it to be more crowded than they are posting or less.

Our experiences recently have been that it much more crowded.

WL? Too lodgey for me,

"Too lodgey" !

Heh. My feelings on the WL are mixed. The lobby is *gorgeous*, breathtaking, even. The grounds are beautiful and the "stream" that turns into the pool is clever.

But, then there are the rooms. Smallish, dark and featuring furniture that looks like it was made out of sticks at an arts and crafts class.

But, lots of folks love it. To each their own.

OP, I'm glad your trip was A-bomb free, and I hope you had a good time. :smickey:

Touring Plans is easily worth the nine bucks per year just for the lines app. That is accurate.

Just curious. What did you find wrong with Touring Plans? We used it in March and found it quite helpful.

I prefer TourGuideMike.com for touring advice. He is an advertiser here on the boards. I have used his advice for 4 trips, and have been happy every time!

Okay, how about too "naturey?" Reminds me too much of camping. Which gives me hives.

Totally :rotfl: about the sticks furniture.

Actually, he's not anymore. There was a big thread on the Theme Parks brd of people who where so disapointed in TGM. The gist was his info/site was outdated. I haven't used him, so I can't say.

Do you think Apps like Mobile magic are changing crowd patterns? Verizon has been advertising the poop out of this App that gives up to the minute wait times. If people who were previously clueless about which park to go to on a certain day find out that DHS has 70 minute wait times on EMH day, the won't go there. They are gonna all go to AK, on the day touring plans said it would be a 6.

I believe that as ticket prices get raised people feel more like they are entitled to having a perfect trip. I've seen it at sporting events also and how much the crowd now boos players that make a mistake.

The more money you pay the more your expectations go up. Just like Disney raising their food prices up made me feel like I'm no longer getting what I'm paying for, so we are eating off-site a whole bunch more. Right now for an 11 day trip coming up I've only made 2 reservations.

i think that's why i didn't enjoy the food last year....
disney seemed to have raised the prices of all my favorite snack foods in line with a DDP snack item....
so things that had only cost $2 in the past, were suddenly $4 and not because they were any bigger or better (in most cases they were smaller).....i could only explain the price increase as having to do with the $4 value of DDP snacks...

i assumed that anyone on the plan wouldn't mind the high price as to them it was only a snack credit....whereas out of pocket it was ridiculously expensive...(for what i was getting)...

we're on the "free" dining plan this year, so it will be interesting if it bothers me less this time...

yes, it was busier than they predicted.......however that can be subjective...but i am someone who does not mind crowds and lines...so...it was just an observation on my part.

I'm glad your trip was A-bomb free, and I hope you had a good time. :smickey:
very good :) comment
