Cars 2 - Two thumbs up from me

I just got home after watching a screener of Cars 2 and I must say that I LOVED it. I enjoyed this one much more than the original. While the original was a racing film, this one is more of an James Bond type film. Even the music was reminiscent of the spy films. I also loved the world travels that the characters make (check my tag). I loved all the characters in the film - even the bad guys! Hehe. :goodvibes

Cool! My 4yo loves spy stuff and he loves Cars so I think he is going to love this! Two more weeks to the Dis Event!

Interesting. I didn't really care for the first Cars. I only watched it once and thought it was a little boring. It's the only Pixar movie that I don't have on DVD. I assumed Cars 2 would be more of the same, but maybe not. Good to know.

That's good to hear...

The first "Cars" movie wasn't really my thing, and the only Pixar film I had no desire to watch a second time. I know some folks here will find that blasphemous, but what can I say ? I just didn't like it all that much.

The second one sounds like it might be a lot more interesting.

We liked the first Cars and my kids CAN NOT WAIT to see the new one. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the info. I loved the first movie. I can't wait to see the next one.

Sweet, looking forward to catching this flick in the theaters.

we spend a lot of time at the movies........this was not on our list...........but i trust your judgement and it is on our list now..........i am a bit behind have not seen Super 8 or Green Lantern yet.

We can not wait to see it. My boys want to go the midnight showing of it :lmao: I am very tempted to take them. However DH has to work and wants us to wait until Saturday.

I say if it is good then we can go twice? :rolleyes1

I forgot to mention that we also saw the Toy Story "Hawaiian Vacation" before the movie started. The short was worth the price of admission alone.

Mike - I completely agree! The Toy Story trailer a wonderful surprise and the movie was excellent. I took my dad, my 17 year old, and my 5 year old and everyone agreed that the plot was so different from the first movie it was hard to compare it. While McQueen was the star of the previous film, Tow Mater is the star of this one and no one is more surprised than he is :goodvibes

There is action and a surprise plot twist like any good spy movie. I was worried that this movie was more for older kids but my 5 year old daughter loved it as much as the rest of us. Everyone was walking out with smiles and talking about what a hit it was. Disney/Pixar knocked it out of the park again, IMHO. There is so much to see visually that I will need to see it more than once. While it is hard to compare the two movies, I definitely like this movie better. My oldest daughter agreed however she said she liked the soundtrack better from the first film.

We watched it in 3d Last night at a premiere too! What a great film! I especially loved the TS3 Short at the front and the deadliest catch cameo...

It was very spy themed but it was sooo good! I even said to my hubby that I'd pay to see it again lol....(that says alot cause we don't go to many movies in theatre lol)

Very well done!

I'd 100% skip Green Lantern and 100% get to Super 8. Just thought I'd save you $10 on watching Green Lantern.

Great to hear the positive reviews, as it is being slammed by the credits right now as Pixar's 1st fail. What do they know?:rotfl:

We are seeing it tomorrow for my son's 6th Birthday Party...can't wait!

Of course saying something wrong about Pixar is blasphemous to some on here, but my kids and I thought the movie was average at best. When my son said "I think they just made the movie to sell the Cars toys in their stores", that kind of says it all. The ONLY thing worth watching was the Toy Story skit.

This is Dreamwork's best shot at winning best animated feature Oscar. Kung Fu Panda 2 was fantastic, and beats out Cars 2 by a mile.

DH & I saw this today- and we both loved it!
I loved all the locations they got to create and thought they were very well done.
The story was better than I expected.
And I give extra points to anything with Michael Caine in it!! :lovestruc

I can't wait for the DVD so I can watch it more times and take in more of thegreat details!

Oh- and Hawaiian Vacation was terrific. :thumbsup2
Unfortunately our "person in the booth" got it all wrong. It started out all green, then went to black, then 2D, then 3D, then 2D, then 3D, then black ,etc. We spent the 1st half of the short watching them try to get it right!!
