The Hero, and His Princess Return DxDDP - Earl of Sandwich (4/21)

We didnt care for Narcoossee's that much...appies and desserts were great but the entrees were just blech

Love Cali Grill but Citricos is soooo much better, have you tried it yet?

We ate at Narcoosees for my 30th B-day, so it holds a special place in my heart. Sorry to hear that you weren't thrilled with the meal. We had a pretty good time, but like any Disney restaurant, it can be a hit one night and a miss another.

I agree with you! A good piece of meat doesn't need to be smothered with sauce!

I so agree! Citricos is awesome. I much prefer it over those two.

We have an ADR for Narcoossee's! I wanted to do one of the signatures with a fireworks view, and after comparing the menus online we picked this one. Your food looks like it was really tasty. I can't wait for this meal. Your dessert in particular looks so good - I'm also a big fan of dark bitter chocolate!

How long did you have to wait to get a window seat?

Welcome Home! Thank you for this awesome review and your husband for all that he does for all of us!
DD LOVED seeing your Tusker House pic with Donald!

No Citricos is on our list of things to do! I think that next trip we will hit it :)

It was ok, and the environment is amazing. After trying a few others, I bet we will be back.

You all have me convinced!

We waited about a half hour, but we were very early for our reservation. We enjoy just relaxing, and soaking everything in, so for us, it was very much worth the wait.

Day 2 (5/29) Caribbean Beach Food Court

Our original plan called for us to sleep in super late, and head over to a later reservation. However, we both were awake and ready to go long before we needed to be, and we were hungry! Included with our deluxe dining plan were refillable mugs, so we decided now was the perfect time to get/use them, and grab a snack!
We walked over to the Old Port Royal, and I chose a delicious cheese Danish, and Joshua chose a chocolate Croissant. I had to dig through several displays of mugs in order to find a pink one, but I found one!!

Josh’s croissant (Josh got Coke in his mug)

“It was great!” He really liked it, and I got one later in the week, because he gave me a bite. It was soft, buttery, and chocolaty. I am not huge on sweet foods, but this was just right!

My Cheese Danish (I got Lemonade with it)

This was very very yummy. I loved how soft, and chewy the pastry was. The cheese was a bit sweet, but very yummy.
Worth the snack credit
Josh – Yea defiantly, it was a great pastry
Beth – Yes, super tasty!

I got the pink mug too! Great minds think alike! ;)

I LOVE those chocolate croissants! Josh definitely made the right choice, oh how I wish I could have one right now...

I got the pink mug too! DH wanted the black one but I told him to get the teal one because my nieces will use them at my pool all summer and they like pink and teal :rotfl2:

I'm here! I love the new resort mugs, I want one!

They are fun! I use mine as my water cup on my desk now :)

I know, writing about it made my mouth water

The new cups look so fun and adorable! I can't wait to get one!

When do you go :cool1:

DH got the blueish teal, which is great, because I steal it some days to take my coffee in :rotfl: He has been using it lately though, which makes me smile

It's a shame Narcoossee's was a bit meh.

Great breakfast choices! I will also be on the hunt for a pink refillable mug in Sept! :rotfl:

Chocolate croissant looks delicious! I'm not usually ready for sweets in the morning, but I might have to make an exception for that ;)

It was good, and I did make an exception later in the trip :lmao:

Day 2 (5/29) Magic Kingdom – Chef Mickey

Seating time: 11 AM

IMG_3266-1.jpg

We arrived about 15 minutes early, and were told to get our photo taken, then to have a seat and wait for our buzzer to go off. As we sat we chatted with a super nice woman who was guiding her family through their first Disney vacation. She had to explain to her young daughter what a honeymoon was LOL.

We were called to our table, where we were told that we had plenty of time to get some breakfast before the characters made it to us, so off to the buffet we went! We were seated in a small room overlooking the Magic Kingdom. The room was very cute, but we were seated at a tiny two top in an archway between the two sections of the room. Stinky table!
I asked for OJ and Coffee, and Josh did the same!

I went straight to the breakfast pizza, one of my favorite Disney foods! I also decided that since this was vacation, I would have a brownie for breakfast!

IMG_3271.jpg

Tatertots also made another appearance here, which is always a bonus for me! They were kinda cold though, so they were not as tasty as the ones that I had gotten earlier in the week. The bacon was also only meh.

The Mickey Waffles were really yummy, I love to smother them in butter. I have a funny habit of eating just the ears though… The hash browns that are under the pizza were not very good. I think I ate a bite or two, and left the rest.

I have no photo of Josh’s plate. If he made it to the table before me at a buffet, you guys are out of luck!

Josh’s take “I enjoyed it”

In this photo, you can see the issue of the little table. By the time we got our plates on there, two coffee mugs, a carafe, the basket that was there and OJ glasses there was no room for autograph books, camera etc. I wish that the table had had another 2-3 inches, and it wouldn’t have been a big deal! We ended up putting some stuff up on the ledge that I am leaning on in the photo.

Characters here included:

Pluto

Goofy

Minnie

Donald – who was very angry when I told him Josh had duck for dinner the night before…
IMG_3290.jpg

And of course, Chef Mickey
IMG_3295.jpg

The characters were sweet, but didn’t really seem like they wanted to be there. They also were left all on their own. There at one point was no staff (waitstaff or “handlers”) in the room with Donald at all. The very overzealous mom at the table behind us was pretty much chasing him around the room, because one of her kids had been getting a plate when he came around. They were also on a very very weird rotation. It took us forever to get to Mickey, and some of the other characters came through more than once, hitting some tables more than once, and skipping others?

Right before Mickey made it to our table our server wished us a happy honeymoon, and brought us a yummy cupcake!

IMG_3294.jpg

Mickey was very sweet, and signed two postcards for us to send a few little ones who will be going to see him soon.

IMG_3297.jpg

I asked before Mickey came around to make sure it was ok, Mickey gave us the thumbs up when he saw they were Mickey post cards!

And then we were on our way!

Cost : $57.98
Credits Used : 2

Worth the Credits?

Josh – “Now that I have been to some other breakfasts, it doesn’t meet up to the others. The food is decent, but compared to the others, not worth the credits” “I like that the characters dance around, and twirl the napkins though”
Beth – Meh, wasn’t nearly as good as the other character breakfasts. I think next trip we will take a break from Chef Mickey, and see if we miss it.

From your description, I think I would agree with your conclusion about Chef Mickey's. It looks like a fun experience every once in awhile but the food didn't look all that stellar. And that table looks so tiny! Too bad, especially for a buffet! ;)

I agree as well. I personally didnt like the breakfast food, quality was awful. But the characters were awesome. Esp donald duck!!!! :) TOO CUTE. I laughed so hard when i read that you told him Josh had duck for dinner the night before. bahahahahahahaha! :lmao:

Sorry you didn't have the best Chef Mickey's experience. I agree that your table is TINY!

That is weird that the characters were out with no handlers and that it was all haphazard. When we went last April everything was very orderly. I didn't think the food was all that wonderful, but the character interaction was great. Sorry it wasn't the same for you!

That picture with you and Minnie is really cute! I love those ears!

Oh and I wholeheartedly support eating brownies for breakfast!
