TouringPlans.com subscription: Worth it?

Does anyone have the subscription to TouringPlans.com with the Lines app? How did you like it? Which plans did you use? I'm trying to figure out if its worth it. I know its only $10 for the year but I don't want to hear "told you so!" from DH :goodvibes He thinks planning out which attractions to see takes away from the fun of discovery and adventure.

Yes, it is definitely worthwhile. The subscription is fairly inexpensive and worth every penny. Their recommended park calendar is very good and there is a lot of great information on the site. Then, once you know which day you're visiting a particular park, you can select a plan that is appropriate for your family, add the date of your visit, and get a plan that already factors in any ride closures and fireworks times. The plans are excellent and will really help you keep lines to a minimum.

Even if you don't use the plans it is still worth the $10 to have the aps that gives you fast pass return times.:thumbsup2

I also like the undercover tourist ap but that one didn't have fast pass times.

Yes, I really like touring plans. I think you get a lot for the money. I use it to help decide which parks to do which days. I have a phone now that I can use lines with so I'm excited to use it on our next trip.
I have spent time making my own touring plan using their info about predicted wait times, might not be accurate, but it sure it fun to play around with.

If anything it just helps me decipher which crowds will be lowest when planning our days for our trips. I did somewhat use the app in WDW on our last trip but mainly to figure out while hopping what the crowd levels were at other parks before going.

Another yes vote here. I've never actually used any of the plans themselves, but the crowd calendar is indispensable, especially now that it has park-specific crowd levels.

For the thousands you're likely investing in your Disney trip, you can't go wrong spending $10 on touringplans.com.

I would say for sure. I love that the Lines app not only gives you FP return times, it also let's you know if the FP are gone for the day.

I think it's great. We've used it for years (both at full price and the discounted rate when we update our UG books) and have always found the info invaluable in planning our vacation. I'd pay for the crowd calendar alone!

I love the plans and subscribe every year that I plan to visit one or more Disney parks. I have teens and usually use the adult highlights touring one day plan for the park I am visiting and simply add attractions that I want to do that they don't list (The only add usually for me is the Animation class at DHS -- a family favorite // And on occasion Dumbo at the MK) and I substract attractions I'm not that crazy about. It makes for mindless easy touring and saves us time in lines. We have the line apps too, but mostly just look at line wait times for fun.

I've been using the plans for the last nine years and wouldn't be caught without one on a high season visit.

I know the 1-year subscription is $10.95 if you don't have the book, but can anyone tell me how much it is if you do own the book? I'm trying to decide if I want to buy the book or not.

If you buy the book, I think the subscription was $7. I like the book and the website/apps, definitely worth it for me!

Outside of using the phone applications, isn't touring plans going to be not as useful when doing ADR's? I only use my phone for calls as I don't have or want a data plan. Just curious as I will be in WDW 12/20-12/27 and plan to use RD at many of the parks.

It's the best bargain out there -- I'd pay more for it if I had to. I don't even use the actual touring plans -- but the crowd calendar and Lines app are absolutely priceless.

Have it and think its great. Reasonable price, nice to know what crowds will be like at certain times of the year, and also like that it recommends parks to do/avoid on certain days. And if you have an iPhone or another smartphone, the Lines app is another plus. Lotsa great recommendations on their site for the parks- get it! :cool1:

How do you all use it the most? Do you plan your schedule based on "best parks" or do you just use the touring plan recommendations?

I just got access and can't help but look at EVERYTHING!
