How Do You Think We Stay So Happy?*Final Thoughts & Farewells* 10/7 p100

Well, so far I have a double chin, Cynthia looks the Wicked Witch of the West, and you are making a funny face. :rotfl: I guess we really all are not very good at having our pictures taken. And I haven't even heard from C, so I hope she's not boycotting our TR since I posted two pics of her in the phone booth.

I actually think you look really cute in your cute baby blue, salt on the b@@b, T-shirt!

Honestly, I don't have too many more pictures of all of us. Most of them at the group shots at meals.

:rotfl: I look like I'm snarling at someone! No worries, I just wonder what the heck I was saying!

On another note, I had no idea the Cave had its own website. Pretty cool!

After doing some extensive research (from this link :)), it was the Wild Passion Fruit margarita that I got Kristin. It WAS the first one on the menu, so my memory is not completely shot, apparently!

Great updates, as usual! Love love love love love Epcot, so the more pics, the better!

:rotfl2: No, it appears that your memory is quite intact! Wild Passion fruit? That sounds delightful. I think its now a toss-up between that and the blood orange. I'm going to have to peruse that menu before December. Then I may put my favs into a hat and have someone pick my first rita! How's that for creativity?

Oh, how I wish I were strolling around World Showcase (or even World Showplace) this afternoon. Somehow I'm not sure I'd ever seen the showplace before. Maybe the gate is usually closed? Or I'm just oblivious. :confused3

That character spot in the back of the UK is almost never crowded! :thumbsup2

By the way, La Cava also has a FB page if youre interested. They sometimes post specials and addressed the recent removal of all menu items except chips/salsa/guacamole (not enough ppl were ordering food? :confused3)

You can say that again! I would love to be there RIGHT NOW. I bet its a perfect evening!

And I think that gate is always closed and they probably have been potted plants and trees in front of it. I remember reading a Lurky loo TR where she attended a F&W event there. I didn't have a good sense of where the building was, but now I sure do.

I will definitely be back there next trip, but I'm going to make it look like an accident so Denny will have to pose for a picture. :rolleyes1

Good to know. Sorry I didn't try the crab tostitos before they pulled them from the menu. I heard they were so good!

Ok I Have a December Trip Question If Anyone Would Care to Give Their Opinion.

Dilema - I have VWL booked 12/14 - 12/18 and 1 night at the Jambo house 12/13. It's a studio for me, Denny, and Nick. I wanted to book a one BR but the Denster said to go for the studio and since I feel like this trip is "iffy" I shouldn't borrow points for a 1BR. Once I borrow I am stuck with them Also - I'm not 100% positive Nick can take that much time off from school and its possible he may not go at all.

Flights for my dates are high - $250 high. Which is a lot for me considering the most I have ever paid for a flight to Orlando is $179. I'm serious. 15 trips and that's the ceiling.

So I was thinking if I change my trip to 12/14 - 12/19 (and cancel 12/13) I can fly home on a Monday and save some $. I have $100 credit on SWA, so I basically have to book SWA for at least one leg of the flight. Plus, its safer for me to book SWA in case I have to cancel Nick's flight and take the credit.

I can't get VWL for the last night, so do I
1. Waitlist the last night at VWL and book OKW as a back up.
OR
2. Switch the whole reservation to OKW. Apparently its wide open.

I'm torn. I want to stay at VWL for the holidays, but I have never stayed at OKW and its a bargain point wise. Plus having a bed for Nick instead of a pull out is nice. Plus its being refurbed, so we have a chance of a new room.

Denny says go for OKW, but I just don't know. I want to stay there, but do I want to stay there at Christmas? What's the chance of my wait list coming through. I really don't want to move for the last night.

All opinions are appreciated.

Love all the pictures. EPCOT is rather photogenic, isn't it? Especially during the Flower and Garden festival.

And, yes, Mary Ellen, who wouldn't want to retire to Florida and be the wacky lady driving through EPCOT? :lmao: I feel that way about a number of Disney jobs...I just want to know how you get the greeter job and you just hang out around the entrances and exits, saying hi!

Melissa, awesome picture of the fez stand! :thumbsup2

I love OKW. The refurbed rooms are nice and I love being able to park close to my villa. I understand the pull of VWL at the holidays but you can't beat the value of OKW. I had to save points this last trip...saving for a 2 bedroom at AKV in October. Very happy with my choice.

So photogenic and since I was there about 4 more times you are stuck seeing even MORE Epcot pictures! ;)

Seriously, that's a great job but I would probably get bored just saying 'hi' and 'bye'. I think I need something with a little more action. :rotfl: That's why I thought driving that cart around would be perfect. You can almost hit people and pretend it was all part of the act. (And with my driving skills it most certainly could happen).

Melissa, awesome picture of the fez stand! :thumbsup2

I hear you on the parking thing, Jill. I forgot to mention that we will have a car, so transportation is not an issue. And despite the fact that I bought an add-on contract, I will never have as many points as I really, truly want. So saving a few at OKW will help with my next trip. Glad to hear the refurb'd rooms are nice. I know I will like the layout of the room, since its the biggest studio. Heck, I know I will like it period. And I have been wanting to try it.

I wanted to show Nicholas VWL (since he's never stayed there), but I can always take him to Artist Point for dinner since I was planning to eat there anyway.

Thanks or sharing your positive feedback.

They should set up a box like they have for Vinylmation trading. Pick a number from 1 to 8, and we'll make you the "mystery margarita"! Or maybe a "spin the wheel" thing.

I'm telling you, I should be working for Disney.

Wish I could help you out, but I"ve not been to either. But I can offer sympathy on the high flight prices- that's really a big chunk!!

A small technical difficulty. Which seems odd as it's not an issue with stuff I upload from my camera, for some reason the photopass pictures uploaded HUGE enen though I hadn't changed my upload settings! I just previewed my update and yowza!

So I need to re-upload them smaller and will get them up tonight.

:goodvibes

Where did you get your shorts? I love the length of them.

Hopefully Melissa will enlighten us. She did have a very cute outfit on that day!

I would totally do that since there are so many ritas I can't make up my mind. Great idea!!!!

I'm telling you, I should be working for Disney.

You should and you will be the first in line to apply if they ever open Disney Bethlehem! ;)

Well, thanks anyway. It's not like its a major crisis. After all, my goal is to get to each DVC resort so since I've already been to VWL, OKW would make sense. We'll see, I still haven't decided.

I wondered what happened. No worries. You'll get it straightened out. When I changed over to my mac everything uploaded really small even though I had not changed the settings. It must have something to do with the source. If I'm not too tired I may start my next update, but I have been wooped today. I was in Costco and getting really grumpy because I didn't feel like being on my feet a second longer. Waaaaaahhhhhhhh!

Well I have the pro account and had it set to the 1mb max best quality option, original size. Which is fine for stuff off my camera. The photopass, even though they've titled them all "4x6" whatever somehow uploaded gargauntan!

I am re-uploading as I type! Seemed far easier to change my default size and re-upload them all, rather than resize one by one lol.

I've not been to either place, but OKW sounds like a logical choice. More bang for the buck & more pros than than VWL. Everything about it seems just what you need the Dec. trip.

BTW, my first time including a quote, hope it turns out right.:confused3

I think I would just save the points and switch the whole ressie to OKW. I don't really like to move, once I'm in a room, unless I am moving off site because I don't have enough points for the whole stay for some reason.

Nice pictures, ladies! All the F&G really makes me want to book in March for our GG with our kids! Interesting that the streetmosphere showed up - they must be trying to up the fun factor at World Showplace!:goodvibes

Walking around I apparently didn’t get my camera out until the cars topiaries and flags, basically the same shots. I did catch this guy though.

The phone booth was hysterical

I’m assuming Melissa is actually talking to someone here

Oh look, it must be Jen! In her very cute hat.

Heading back into the shops was a ton of fun. I have NEVER been back there and in any of them. There was a show of some sort going on so we cut through the shops to get back there. I was tempted by many things, but apparently all I took a picture of was these.

I do recall wishing I drank more tea. I like it but when I drink it, it’s definitely a mug, not a cup. So many darling things though. Not only had I never been in this part of England, I had no idea Tigger and Pooh were back here! It was really fun to do a picture with them and, as Mary Ellen mentioned a darn good thing as it was my only character picture of the trip as well.

Tigger really liked Jen

It was a great way to end our first park visit and we all headed out. Thanks to Jen and Pepe le Pew we were able to get back to POR far more quickly than otherwise. I was pleased to see my luggage had arrived and was really looking forward to seeing more of POR, most importantly, the pool!

Hi ladies! I'm sorry I'm late but May was just too busy.
I used the links to get caught up, but had to skip the chatter.
Can i just say I'm enjoying this trip so much. Sounds like everyone is having a great time. I can't wait to read more.

Mary Ellen on your resort question, the cheap side of me says book OKW. But I do understand the draw of VWL. The perfect place for Christmas decorations. Hard choice.:confused3
