waiting for more...
Next TR may be titled "DISmoms on scooters.... Golden Girls mark 20th trip!"
My camera is all wonky and I have actually lost some pics. Really weird.
LMAO I think there must be a seperate trip report for only those that were in world to see.. like what happens in the world stays in the world.. except for on a secure password protected photo sharing site.. not that I would know anything about that LMAO
This was the first year for me flying in for our annual trip, having moved back to SC this time last year. I am NOT a good flyer, so thanx to my new friend, "Mr Blue Pill" I was able to get on a plane and make it safely to Orlando.
You took viagra?
The Ditch....... there were three DISmoms waiting for us there, and they had quite a head start!!!!!!
on the chocolate milk right LOL
Flying from Minneapolis I got in later than the upgrade queens. I had to leave here around 4 am and when you live half way to the north pole, it is really dark! But as I was pulling out of the cold garage in my nice cool Florida clothes I realized I don't have sun glasses. Where on earth does one get sun glasses at that time in the morning...why of course the gas station.
I find all my designer gear at the local AM/PM lol
There was beverage service on this flight!.
Girl after my own heart!
Soon I was touching down in sunny Orlando. Kara was to fly into the gate next to mine about 5 min after me. So ran to the potty and on the way out but who to I see. ---uuuh lost that photo~
is that going to be the theme of this trip.. every good pics is "lost" lol
We by pass the fruity drink stand and head down to ME. Ummm why is the bus taking so long.
UMM why did you pass on the fruity drink?
We waited for ever for that bus to let us on board. The line for the POP bus was huge and I think 3 came and left while we were still waiting.
See should have had the drink.. never pass us a drink!
waiting for more...
Here!! Can't wait to see what happens on this trip. The suspense is already killing me!
Great start, looking forward to reading more!
Joining in! Can't wait too hear all about your trip!
Running off to read...
Great Start! The Boardwalk is so pretty
Subscribing looking forward to reading your tr
Kara -
I can totally relate to the Menopausal Golden Girl statement. Sometimes I think I am the poster child for menopause gone horribly wrong. OK - so maybe I am exaggerating just a little.
Loved your update and your pictures of all the moms. You guys are a such a fun group. We had a lot of solo time on all girl's trip, too. It was nice, because we all just naturally went different ways at different times.
Looking forward to more.
I can't wait to read about all the fun you mom's deserve!
yikes....already behind. I'm here.
First off, who knew 3 years ago I would get on a plane and go visit people I met on the internet! let alone the DisMoms. I giggle because I had my screen name before I even knew of the DISmoms.
I always think that's so funny!! Like you had a premonition when you were picking your name!
I had met Kara twice, once on a family trip to WDW in '08 and then this spring when I was in Atlanta and I drove up to have dinner with her. The others--nope never met 'em. But now I am sooooo glad I did. Wonderful ladies. We all come from that magical place....New Minnflorialina.
New Minniflorilina...

Got to the Mpls airport and it was still early. I was flying southwest so no upgrade mojo here but I didn't have to pay for bags. It was so early the bar hadn't even opened. I thought that's okay I can have a drink on the plane...ummm no. While on the flight from Msp to Chicago, there was HORRIBLE turbluance. It was to the point where the flight attendants were told to sit down and there would be no beverage service for the flight Yeah not a good thing. But got to Chicago safely. I wasn't switching planes so once the Chicago passenagers got off the plane I was able to move to the 2nd row. There was beverage service on this flight!.
Go Laura!

What is with all the lost pics???
We by pass the fruity drink stand and head down to ME. Ummm why is the bus taking so long.
Yea- I'm with Drea- what do you mean you passed the fruity drink stand????
We waited for ever for that bus to let us on board. The line for the POP bus was huge and I think 3 came and left while we were still waiting. But soon we were on the bus, texting our counter parts.
Yes I nearly cried when we pulled in to BWV. Not like that didn't happen at any other point of the trip.
Why doesnt the slushie stand open at 11 with the rest of WS? . I bet Disney is leaving some good $ on the table not selling for that hour!
Not that we have a problem or anything but FYI the ditch doesn't open at 11 either. Hey, it's vacation!
Looks like there were some unique characters around for Pixar Weekend!
Yeah, like shouldn't it open at 7am when it's noon in France?????
Yeah, like shouldn't it open at 7am when it's noon in France?????
That's what I think! Hmmm, I'm beginning to think someone has a problem.....last year I was circling the Moosehead cart waiting for it
to open, this year the Grey
Goose/slushy cart.
The difference is that last year you banged on the door and this year you ripped the door OFF! Dang hormones!
Continental/United. Continental is the BIG carrier at Newark airport. But it used to be you upgraded online when you checked in- and for less. The first year I did it (when I went with just Loni) it was $49!!!!! Things change CONSTANTLY now because they merged with United, so who knows what's next? I will say that the breakfast was the BEST one I have had in first class- very yummy!
HI! The stick kids were a big hit- bartenders remembered us the next year with them!
Not that bartenders don't remember us without them...
I miss my DISmoms!!!!!!
I miss them too!!!! Well, except for the ones I see/talk to every day. Kind of hard to miss them.
For the third year in a row, I laughed, laughed, and laughed...... We also cried, and we had a lot of "Me" time......
Let's just say, at least in my case, nerves (I'm a very nervous flyer!), alcohol, premenopausal stress, and maybe a little touch of something, caused us all to need a little private time here and there.......
And when I was texting Cammie during the trip, I told her we were "a bunch of hormonal, menopausal golden girls!"
Speak for yourself!!
Cammie quickly brought to my attention that we are "just a few years away from ECVs!"
I hope not!
Next TR may be titled "DISmoms on scooters.... Golden Girls mark 20th trip!"
I think we have a few more Ditch trips to write about before THAT TR gets written!!
My camera is all wonky and I have actually lost some pics. Really weird.
What is with the lost pics?
But let me do the honors here......
Princess Ellen.... our fearless leader and holder of the DVC points..... but that's not the ONLY reason we love her......
What are the other reasons??? Now that you've made me feel old and incontinent, I really need to hear the good stuff!
Princess Lonnie..... despite that fact that she is tall, thin and has a great rack (yes, I really went there!!!!), I love her anyway and feel like I've known her forever!!!! And she taught me about tea with mint to keep me regular.....
Yea- my girl Lonnie DOES have a great rack- and she is so wise in the ways of thunder tea....
And of course, the original McSparkleson.... It's ME!!!! And just for the record ladies, I hold some I'm Too Sexy photos for every one of you so be careful what you post this year!!!!!
HEY! Don't forget who holds the KTTW for the cruise!!!
Princess Joan..... there is no mascara that she can't beat... at least not this trip!!! Love you girlie!!!!
I LOVE Joan! She is the best crier- although I was right there with her at the Walt movie...hmmm...maybe I am hormonally challenged, too....
Princess Evie.... So glad to have met you this year!!!!! Again, I feel like I've known you forever, you are sooooo funny and you added so much to our group!
I feel that way, too!! But I guess I've known her for 15 years, so maybe that's why...We need to get her a screen name so she can comment!!
And Princess Laura.... I guess I really have known you forever, at least in DIS land! We first officially met 3 years ago (almost to the day!) and then again a few months before this trip!
LOVED meeting Laura!!
This was the first year for me flying in for our annual trip, having moved back to SC this time last year. I am NOT a good flyer, so thanx to my new friend, "Mr Blue Pill" I was able to get on a plane and make it safely to Orlando.
I stepped off the plane and Laura was waiting for me, luggage cart at the ready, just in case I over self medicated. Not to mention, those luggage carts would have helped a bit making our way back to BWV a couple nights!!!
My flight was smooth and I was sooooo happy to be so close to my happy place! After living in Jacksonville, FL, for 3 years, and going to WDW every 6-8 weeks, I was seriously jonesing for the World!!!!
Like Laura said, our wait for DME seemed to take forever, and then once on the bus, we sat there forever waiting to fill the bus so we could be on our way.
Before long we were pulling into Boardwalk, racing THRU the lobby and on to the International Gateway of Epcot.... after all, we had some DISmoms to meet!!!!!!
Glad to see you had your priorities straight!
I will be back with my sister and her family, and my parents, to celebrate my parent's 50th anniversary, so I knew I would be upgrading to an annual pass (sorry, Ellen, you don't get credit for this one! ) so I got that all squared away and then Laura and I were on a beeline for........
The Ditch....... there were three DISmoms waiting for us there, and they had quite a head start!!!!!!
Not THAT big...was it???
