How Do You Think We Stay So Happy?*Final Thoughts & Farewells* 10/7 p100

I love the WS pics! You capture Morocco so nicely and it feels as if I am exploring the world at Disney with you. Wow on having the area to yourself. Btw I also love the belly dancing skirts though am with you in that I could never wear them! My little sister had the whole outfit when she was younger!

The minute you mentioned Germany I was like 'please let there be pics of Karamelle Kuche' and I wasn't disappointed! I can't wait to try that cupcake! popcorn::

I love the backup title but can see why it was not used.

Beautiful update!!! I love Morocco too and your pictures definitely did it justice. Last time my girls and I took pics by the fountain I was all cozied up to one of my dd's, while my other dd took the shot. Just as we were about to say 'cheese' she reaches behind me and scoops water on my back! I was soaked to say the least but the expression on my face was priceless. I love moments like that, and even more so when I see a picture on here and I remember the moment.
I bet you gals had fun thinking up the title the whole trip, that one would have been funny!!! You will have to share some more with us. How awesome that you girls all got together and had such a fun trip. None of my friends understand my obsession with Disney, so I need to plan a trip with some dis-friends someday!!

Hi ladies! I'm subbing in. I followed the link from Cynthia's TR and I have been having so much fun reading all of the updates so far.

I have to say that you all are fabulous picture takers! Every shot has been amazing. The photos of World Showcase are so detailed.

Can't wait for more!

LOL all of sudden I'm glad my computer setup is CLEAR ACROSS THE HOUSE from my sleeping husband LOL!!! :rotfl:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your pictures of Morocco...where in the world is that sitting place and how did I miss it LOL! I would have totally sat down LOL!!!! You took shots of things I didn't even notice!!

That little couch was hidden around one of the many corners in Morocco. It seemed like I just turned a corner and there it was. Crazy. It's almost like it popped out of no where. I think everyone was so busy chatting it up that we missed some stuff.

BTW the bathroom in Marrakesh...very nice and the restaurant is very pretty!! The awesome CM let us look in the restaurant!!!!! :thumbsup2 Going to have to try and eat there some day!

I thought that was so nice. I actually didn't go into the bathroom (which is hard to believe because I think I have been in every other bathroom in all of Disneyworld). :rotfl: The restaurant does look pretty cool inside. Can't believe no one was in there.

Aww the Cave!! I think I enjoyed a nice cool glass of water (a recurring theme LOL) and C was nice enough to share her guacamole with me WHICH WAS AMAZING!! I might have to convince Anita and Marc to make a quick stop and share some with me!!!

If you visit the Cave will you please have a virtual drink for me. There are so many margaritas on that list that I still want to drink. :thumbsup2

Oh the quest of the perfect TR title what fun times will occur on this journey LOL!!!!!

Another FABULOUS update Mary Ellen!! You ROCK!!

Ah, yes......the quest for the perfect title. I hope I can remember all the contenders. Glad you enjoyed the update.

Have an awesome trip. I think you are probably arriving there very soon!

Alright, I'm not as far behind as I had originally feared!! Great update! That 'rita looks awesome!

That rita DID look awesome and its definitely on my "must try" list for my next trip. I can't wait. It's so hot here now I would love to have a delish drink like that.

I love your Morocco pics. I feel like that is a country I always go through too quickly - on our last trip we slowed down enough to buy a fez and explore the shops, but your pictures make me really want to meander through all of those little nooks and alleyways.

Exactly! This is the first time I really nosed around. I knew there was a lot back there because the segway tour took us back there. I'm glad we were moving at a snail's pace so I could see everything.

WOW! Great WS pictures!!! :thumbsup2 Very nicely done!

Thank you! I promise MANY more pix so make sure you check back.

Great update, MEK! As always you got some amazing pictures. Somehow the colors seem so much more vibrant in the pics both you and Melissa take. Love them!!

Thanks C! I don't know how much editing Melissa does with hers, but I edit the crap out of mine to give them more color. I have started using the suto modes less and I often forget to readjust the ISO and light balance when I go in and out of doors, so I am constantly adjusting the color. It's fun though. I like it. Its like therapy. ;)

I think Morocco is an easy pavilion to really lose yourself in as you wind around to the back. I've never noticed that sitting area!

Definitely. I love that pavilion. It is definitely one of the prettiest.

It was fun to finally see you guys and meet Cynthia for the first time. That guacamole is good. I think I had it at least two more times that week. :)

I just love how easy to jump right into "real life" conversations with DISers. No awkward moments at all. Well, other than Melissa's salt issue. ;)

I'm glad we found you! That guac was really good. almost as good as the ritas.

I agree - it is very easy to start up a "real life" conversation with people you talk to on a virtual basis. It was just easy for us all to get together and enjoy the moment.

I spilled some of that salt on my pants and it took two washings to get it out. Nasty stuff.

I agree. It is so nice to just meander around in there!

[/COLOR][/B] :)

It really was fun. No body there and no rush at all. Perfect. :thumbsup2

Jen, hurry up and get yourself down there! I know Marc and Anita are ready for you to arrive. I'm wishing this half-day away for you, and then I'm hoping time slows down for your entire trip. :)

I hope Jen is arriving any minute. I am so jealous. It's only been a month, but I am ready to go back!

Wow, those are some great photos! I have never explored Morroco in the WS that much but must do this summer! It looks beautiful.

Thanks for the compliment. I love to take pictures. I am a little obsessed, you might say. Definitely spend some time in Morocco. It's a pretty cool little place.

Great pictures around the World Showcase Mary Ellen! I especially like the lights in Morocco, and of course my favorite fountain. ;)
I LOVE those lights. They are gorgeous! And your fountain....:rotfl: .....the whole time I was there I could not get that picture out of my head.

That would've made a great title for the trip report, but I can understand why you didn't go with it.

When we voted, it almost made the cut, but we thought better.

What a lovely stroll through WS! I love just meandering around there soaking it in and taking pictures. I can't wait to get to Morocco and look at all the sparkly jewellery and and get my henna tattoo! I might have to make my way over to the Cave too....;)

I have never gotten a henna tattoo, but I really want one. Thanks for reminding me to put that on my future list.

And, you MUST visit the Cave. You will NOT regret it. I had heard it was good and it definitely lived up to the hype.

Time is moving so slowly LOL!! Had a quick break between PD sessions, now heading to my last one! Then it's onward to the airport!! WOOOT WOOOT!!!!!

No Worries Now Jen - You are officially on DISNEY TIME!!!!! WOOT!

I do love Morocco- a lot!! I love losing myself back in there, and just drinking in the atmosphere~ and speaking of drinking...

You ladies are cracking me up!! That must have gotten a few snort laughs! :lmao: Isn't the Cave a simply wonderful place to chill out? Gosh, I love it there!

Morocco is simply the best in terms of a relaxing atmosphere.

And drinking.....well, let's just say this was only the beginning. I keep telling Denny how wonderful the Cave was, but I don't think he gets it. Yet!

Great WS pics! I love it back there, especially on school trip days because none of the groups seem to go back that far. I guess the drinks don't make me love it any less, either.

True - you aren't gonna find too many kids back in Morocco. :worship: And the drinks - well - 'nuff said!

The stuff in the caramel shop in Germany looks SO GOOD. I'm not much of a snacker, but that's more because I can't control myself and overeat at lunch and dinner. I loved watching the girl stirring the caramel, and so wanted to just dunk my head right into the bowl. Do you think they would've approved of that?
:rotfl2: Now THAT would have made a great picture! But, remember, you must be a role model for your children. That food did look simply amazing. I was still full from our big breakfast, but had I been hungry - watch out!

Great TR! It's the first I've actually kept up with, so you should feel honored ;)

We do! :goodvibes

Mmmmm I could go for a snack from The Ditch right now....Love the crab tostadas but C informed me that they may not be available anymore  (can get them from San Angel I think.) Good thing I love guacamole....I think it is wise to have something to nibble on while having a few ritas ;).

What?????? I have heard so much about those crab tostadas. Ellen raves about them.

All this talk about the Ditch is really making me crave one of those ritas. How will I ever be able to wait until December?????

I have a few preferred bathrooms in WS....I'll have to look more closely at Morocco :rotfl:

That was actually in the restaurant because we couldn't find the bathroom. So they were kind enough to let us in. I only went in for the pictures. I missed the bathroom, but if Jen says it was nice, I believe her.

Beautiful Morocco pictures and I remember stopping by and looking at all of those plants....some quite bizarre, but neat to look at. I would end up killing them all anyways!! :rotfl2:

Tracy

Me too. That plant would be dead inside a week if I took ownership of it.

I love the WS pics! You capture Morocco so nicely and it feels as if I am exploring the world at Disney with you. Wow on having the area to yourself. Btw I also love the belly dancing skirts though am with you in that I could never wear them! My little sister had the whole outfit when she was younger!

Morocco is a wonderful spot for taking pictures. I've seen some wedding pictures from in there and I knew it was a great place to go. I'm glad it wasn't crowded and no one was in a rush. It was perfect.

They were selling the whole outfit for like $80. Cool if you can wear something like that and needed it for a Halloween party.

The minute you mentioned Germany I was like 'please let there be pics of Karamelle Kuche' and I wasn't disappointed! I can't wait to try that cupcake! popcorn::

That food looked amazing. At the time I was full and very thirsty so all I purchased was water. Looking back, what was I thinking? :sad2:

I love the backup title but can see why it was not used.

It was my personal favorite! :lmao:

I love moments like that, and even more so when I see a picture on here and I remember the moment.

:rotfl: I bet that WAS a shock! I would have screamed. Great photo-op :thumbsup2 to your daughter for thinking of it. It really is fun to remember those special moments.

I bet you gals had fun thinking up the title the whole trip, that one would have been funny!!! You will have to share some more with us. How awesome that you girls all got together and had such a fun trip. None of my friends understand my obsession with Disney, so I need to plan a trip with some dis-friends someday!!

Christine kept adding all the titles to her blackberry. We had at least ten or twelve really good ones by the end of the trip!

Hi ladies! I'm subbing in. I followed the link from Cynthia's TR and I have been having so much fun reading all of the updates so far.

:welcome: Sunset Cliffs! Thanks for coming over to join us. We promise much more craziness and LOTS of food!

I have to say that you all are fabulous picture takers! Every shot has been amazing. The photos of World Showcase are so detailed.

Can't wait for more!

Thanks! I am sort-of obsessed with taking pictures. I got the itch several years ago after seeing some fabulous pictures in different trip reports. I tend to have a bit of ADD, so having pictures to look back on really forces me to see details and experience the moment. It really helps me see the trip in a different light.

While the quality of my shots can’t possibly come close to Mary Ellen and Melissa’s…walk with me!

I was excited to walk this way. Though I’ve eaten at Tangerine, I’ve never really explored..

Morocco!

We took a lot of the same pictures (and hers are better) so I’ll try not to duplicate too much

I was in love with these lamps, too bad they really don’t match my house!

2011FG021.jpg

2011FG022.jpg

I could make this one work…just not sure where

2011FG023.jpg

Mary Ellen, looking for the perfect shot

2011FG025.jpg

2011FG026.jpg

I didn’t take nearly enough pictures in the shops, though I think there some more out there. Though I was tempted to buy a belly dancing scarf, I resisted (not really but they were fun).

I did love the bathroom (and used it) but didn't take a picture of that, or the restaurant, so pretty in there.

Bye Bye Morocco, hello Japan!

I was loving the bonsai trees by the Tori as well

Over in America we hit the shops. Pluto is so cute!

2011FG039.jpg

Fun to catch these guys but man, does that look hot

2011FG044.jpg

Continued in next post

Over in Germany, it was fun watching them make these cookies

2011FG053.jpg

I’ll admit I had been SO looking forward to the caramel shop. Jeff is a huge caramel freak. BUT he really does NOT like Werthers originals and I knew he’d be biased against it knowing it was all Werthers so I refrained from buying him any. But it was still fun to see them make these and the final product

2011FG054.jpg

Thankfully I wasn’t feeling like this yet, though I did grab a big water at the caramel shop and inhaled it.

2011FG056.jpg

Without that water, I might have felt like this

2011FG058.jpg

Heading towards Africa, my kids still can’t believe this was a topiary. I need to figure out my color saturation obviously, I don’t really think about it till I look at Melissa and Mary Ellen's!

2011FG063.jpg

Hello China!

2011FG064.jpg

2011FG065.jpg

Love these guys

2011FG067.jpg

I have NO idea what this is, other than the ugliest topiary ever, designed to give small children nightmares

2011FG070.jpg

Arriving at the Ditch, after almost falling with the BRIGHT to DARK light adjustment, finding Christine, I found this beauty arriving for my enjoyment

2011FG072.jpg

Blood Orange
El Mayor premium silver Tequila, triple sec, a sweet-tart mix of blood orange juice and hibiscus syrup, served on the rocks with a hibiscus Himalayan salt rim

Perfection.

MEK the color saturation of your pictures is wonderful! I have never spent much time in Morroco but now I can see what I missed.:)

I love those belly dance scarves, they jingle nicely. I do have a belly dancing outfit myself. I seem to be collecting foreign clothing lately. I now have a sari couple of kimonos with all the trappings & a chinese dress. I guess I could make a statement in WS! :rotfl:

I want to stick my head into a bucket of that caramel myself. Yummy!
Doris

Cynthia - What are you talking about??????

Your Pictures are gorgeous. You are just not seeing it! They are lovely. Huge difference with your new camera. Good composition. Love them all. I especially love your rita picture because that looks SO DARN GOOD. Blood orange - officially on the list!!!!! And the cookies - YUM!

Great Morocco pictures, it's become one of my favorite places in World Showcase after I spent some time exploring it in November!!:thumbsup2 And the Flower and Garden festival! And the caramel shop, yum!!! :thumbsup2

I love the Ditch!! :lovestruc My DH always gets the Blood Orange margarita, I think I tried it once and wasn't impressed...I really love the classic one they have there, or the glowing blue one, yum! :cool1:

Thank you! And you really should nose around a little more in Morocco. Definitely worth it! Very pretty and so relaxing back there.

I guess you could :rotfl2: I do really like those belly dance scarves. They do look totally cool. I do enjoy looking at all the festive clothing in Morocco and Japan.

I want to stick my head into a bucket of that caramel myself. Yummy!
Doris
:rotfl2: Did you see those cookies that Cynthia just posted. WOW is all I can say. WOW!!!!!!

MEK, beautiful pictures. I absolutely want to explore Morocco this trip, which I've yet to do. I'd also like a little time in WS during the day. I seem to always end up seeing it at night, which has its own appeal, too. Love the Lady and the Tramp topiary. Its usually up by our February trip.

Cynthia, you took some great shots, too. The caramel pix, in particular. YUM! Everything in that place is so good. Can't wait to get back there again. And that margarita looks so delicious.

MaryEllen, your photos are terrific as always. I love Morocco and love spending a lot of time there. The salt on the b**b cracked me up.

Boys, oh boys this is flying! I have a hard enough time staying up to date on trip reports that one person is writing. I really don't have a chance here, do I?:rotfl:

Haven't fully caught up...hope to do that by the weekend, but just a quick note to say that I am loving everything so far!;)

I think the F&G festival add so much to the already beautiful Epcot. Although, I will admit I am looking forward to seeing it decorated for Christmas again. It feels like its been such a long time.

I love the Ditch!! :lovestruc My DH always gets the Blood Orange margarita, I think I tried it once and wasn't impressed...I really love the classic one they have there, or the glowing blue one, yum! :cool1:

Really? You did not like the blood Orange? You'll never guess which one I had? :rolleyes1 I decided to go big!

I think you can appreciate all the beauty of the World showcase much better in the daylight. Although, you are right - the soft lighting of night time is so appealing. That must be cool to see them start adding the topiaries.

Cynthia, you took some great shots, too. The caramel pix, in particular. YUM! Everything in that place is so good. Can't wait to get back there again. And that margarita looks so delicious.

That caramel is to die for. Never look at those pictures when you are hungry. Never! :rotfl:

You guys are off to a great start!! I'm really enjoying all of your pictures. :goodvibes

Thanks! So glad you are the enjoying the report and the pictures!

MaryEllen, your photos are terrific as always. I love Morocco and love spending a lot of time there. The salt on the b**b cracked me up.

Thank you! And the salt on the ........ I think it was Jen that made that interesting observation.

Boys, oh boys this is flying! I have a hard enough time staying up to date on trip reports that one person is writing. I really don't have a chance here, do I?:rotfl:

It is definitely hard to follow multiple writers. I know I have trouble. I am having trouble keeping up with the links. Just read when you have time. Our posts are almost duplicates, so what you miss in one you will probably read in another. ;)

Haven't fully caught up...hope to do that by the weekend, but just a quick note to say that I am loving everything so far!;)

Glad you are enjoying! Ah - weekends - so great for DISing when there are a million other things we all should be doing.

Great cookie making photos and I have to agree that all the photos are great! Having never been to Disney World I am enjoying seeing different perspectives of the parks.

I’ll admit I had been SO looking forward to the caramel shop. Jeff is a huge caramel freak. BUT he really does NOT like Werthers originals and I knew he’d be biased against it knowing it was all Werthers so I refrained from buying him any. This is me too! :rotfl: I am not a fan of Werthers candies either but I do still want to try almost everything in that shop! The cookie in the picture and the chocolate caramel cupcake are tops on my want-to-try list so far!

You ladies really got some gorgeous shots in Morocco. I love it there so much but my photos never turn out. The angle is always off or there's some random person in the shot ruining it! Yours were all lovely! You are inspiring me for my next trip like crazy!:goodvibes I love the panda topiaries too! Cute!

I love the Ditch!! :lovestruc My DH always gets the Blood Orange margarita, I think I tried it once and wasn't impressed...I really love the classic one they have there, or the glowing blue one, yum! :cool1:

I like the classic a lot as well, haven't tried the glowing blue one :rotfl:

I love the panda topiaries too! Cute!

The cookie LOOKED so good, I just couldn't quite wrap my arms around the combo. Not to mention I was really full from beignets and breakfast. I brought my DH some caramel back from Germany in Jan and he was a bit meh about it so (very different texture and flavor)...between that and the fact that it was werthers, which neither of us are crazy about at all, I didn't try anything. Watch it though, he'll have some next trip and tell me I was crazy not to bring some home for him.

Those Panda's are cool aren't they?

Cynthia - What are you talking about??????

It's better than the old one for sure, though to be fair the old one struggled with the steam and humidity, not sure how this one will do yet. However, the color saturation you and Melissa get is LIGHT years different.

Boys, oh boys this is flying! I have a hard enough time staying up to date on trip reports that one person is writing. I really don't have a chance here, do I?:rotfl:

Doris

You could make a statement in the WS, how fun that you have all of that. I was tempted by the scarf... My husband would totally stick his head in that bucket of caramel, he keeps reminding me I haven't made him any homemade ones recently. :rotfl:
