How Do You Think We Stay So Happy?*Final Thoughts & Farewells* 10/7 p100

With my last update I left off with me going to WS to meet up with MaryEllen! Wooo hooooo!!

I was so excited to finally meet one of the girls! Truth be told I was starting to slightly lonely!

Once through the glorious, private entrance I stopped to take a few pictures!

Stopped to get myself a grey goose citron slushie, which was gone all too quickly, and moved on again!

Strolling and taking a few pictures and just taking in the fabulousness that is WS!!

Soon I found myself in Mexico!! I ventured inside the pavilion in hopes of a rita from the ditch! But, the line was out the door!! So, I decided to wait and have my very first drink from the ditch with the other ladies!!

I went outside and got a frozen rita from the stand and then went over to the CS for nachos!

It being dinner time at this point, there was no place to sit in the area near the CS so I ended up deciding to move over to the outside of the pavilion and lean on the wall! As luck would have it, as soon as I climbed the stairs of the pavilion one of the few table up there opened up! Woo hoo!!!

I was very much looking forward to the nachos! I love Mexican and there is no good Mexican around my house! Only GROSS stuff that I’ll never eat again! I’ve had the nachos in mexico before and both times they were very good! This time, not so much! It was kind of like everything was kind of just plopped on the dish! It wasn’t spread out or mixed up! So I’d take a bite and get all of one thing, not a good combo! For awhile, while they were still warm, I tried do my best to pick stuff up on the chip in hand. But once they got cool it was too hard to do! Boo!

All the while I was texting Mary Ellen!! She was on her way! Wooooo hooooooo!!!

Once I knew she was nearing WS I quickly finished my rita! Knowing about Mary Ellen’s medicine incident I felt bad consuming an adult beverage in her presence!

Soon Mary Ellen arrived!! It was so nice to finally meet her!!!! We chatted and hit it off right away!

Like Mary Ellen said, she got dinner from the Mexico CS as well and was just as happy with hers as I was with mine!

While we chatted my phone, as Mary Ellen mentioned, rang at least twice with several texts as well!! I believe I may have actually said something about throwing it in lake!!! DD was having some sort of crisis! I can’t remember what exactly, but I believe it had something to do with trying to find something (either for religion class the next day or for the science project she was doing with a classmate over the weekend!) and for some reason she thought that from 800 miles away I could find it! UGH!!!

Soon it was nearing time for Illuminations to start!!! So we went off to find a spot! WS was not very crowded at all and we got a very good spot!

After Illuminations we ventured back toward the International Gateway making a few stops along the way, including the shop in Japan, as Mary Ellen mentioned! Wow!! I’ve been in there numerous times but it’s hard to really explore with 3 little ones in tow so this was an interesting experience!

We continued on, walking and chatting! It was truly lovely!!!

It was getting late and I think we were both getting tired so I took my walk back to the room and Mary Ellen headed toward the front of the park!

I took a few pictures along the way

and soon headed back to my room for a good nights sleep!!!

Thanks for capturing those early morning shots...I purposefully get up early just to have those moments in the morning! I love morning in the World.

Great update! We loved Kouzzina when we went in September and I wish we had an ADR for our upcoming trip but we don't:confused3 How nice to meet these ladies for the first time and feel like old friends! I have had similar Dis-meets and I couldn't agree more!!!

Wow once again what stunning pictures Melissa!! Love the Illuminations shots!! I'm envious of both you and MEK's camera skills!!! Just plain AWESOME!!

What meal did you have at Kouzzina? I'm definitely interested to try it again! It was a fabulous breakfast!!

I think we all just clicked so well that everything went off without a hitch!

Aww, thanks! :lovestruc

Thanks!! :lovestruc I love the drummers! That day was beautiful! It wasn't too hot, the skies were amazingly blue! It was awesome!!!

This is much better...I only had two updates to read (better than the four or five I missed last time :rotfl2::rotfl2:).

Cynthia, you are a gal after my own heart with the coffee drinking. I am the same way--Venti's from Starbucks and then coffee here and there in the office in the a.m. DH still can't figure out how I can drink a Venti at night and sleep.

Those beignets look like something DH would really love. And how sweet of MaryEllen to have them for you, as well as coffee brewing.

Your photos of the Beauty & the Beast topiaries are wonderful.

Melissa, great update.

I keep hearing about this "Rita" and think I'll have to try one in September.

Your pictures are so "sharp" and "colorful". I especially like the Lion King ones and the ones of Illuminations.

PEPE!!! I love my GPS...btw Darth is getting added this week!! I can't wait to choose between Pepe and Darth depending on my mood!!

OOOOH...I think one more next week I'm going to have to walk over to POFQ and get me some of those beignets...look so good!!!!

Hmmm...Kouzzina was so good that I booked another breakfast there!! I can't wait to try another great meal there!!!

YAY for Darth! I really need to look into the voice thing. Eat a beignet for me pretty please :goodvibes

All the arrival stories are interesting, too bad about the pillow & blanket. I always freeze my bum off on flights, so I always dress for warmth.
Had I worn a cardigan, I'd have been fine but at the last minute I couldn't find the one I wanted so just went without. Bad call.

O I know that early morning, no coffee headache all too well!! It's not fun! I actually forgot coffee filters this trip too! I know for sure that with the kuerig I don't have any in the house! I bought them in the Screen Door General Store after I got my locker and realized there was none in there!

Cynthia, those benigets look insanely good!! Yummy! What a welcome!!
We bought some at BCM and I think Mary Ellen took them with her so she'd have for Dec but maybe we spaced and left them there? The beignets were insanely good!

Cynthia, I kind of wish you had stayed at the Swolphin... their deals sound so tempting. I think December would be a great time to try out the Boardwalk, because the pool would much less of an issue and, yeah, well..that clown. :lmao:
It was a tempting deal. That's what I'm thinking about BWV. It's either that, or a Treehouse. We will see.

Love the update the breakfasts look so yummy! I'll have to remember to go there if we ever get to stay at BWV!
SUCH a yummy breakfast!

Mmmm those beignets looks so yummy - can't wait to try some!! :cloud9:

Lovely pics of the topiaries - I think Beauty and the Beast is awesome!! :thumbsup2
 BAB and I'd love a beignet right now!!!

Ok I can't do that at night anymore. I don't usually have caffeine past about 11. Mary Ellen is the bomb.

You all take such lovely pictures! You should be photographers and open a cross-country business together! :) I am very ready to have my grey goose slushie in September! This TR is making me crave one! And I think I will have to get my booty over to POFQ for beignets too. How long was the walk from POR?

East Meets West Girls Please Carry On. I am leaving for a soccer tournament in Gettysburg and won't be home until Sunday. I'm not taking my computer. I kept flip flopping back and forth as to whether I wanted to leave Brian alone, but decided to since most of he friends from the public schools have already graduated and are at the beach. Guess he can't get into too much trouble. Not!

Anyway - please carry on with the replies.

Love Everyone's Updates and Pictures.

The Picture of the Drummers is absolutely stunning and incredibly professional looking because of the depth of field it shows. That should be entered. It's great! All the others are good, too. But that is WOW!

So bye for now. Be Back Sunday!

This is such a great trip report! Love the pictures from Flower and Garden!

Wow, those beignets look wonderful! I might have to head over to POFQ and get some this trip.

Oh - BTW - after seeing my double chin in one too many pictures I am seriously considering a neck lift. :lmao: Only I'm not kidding!

I have to agree in that you guys are taking great shots - love the drummer and Lion King topiary as well as the Illumination pics! :thumbsup2

Ditto on the photos! MaryEllen good luck to Brian, may his team win. :cheer2:

I want one of those slushies now but I guess I will just have to wait until Sept.;)

Yummmm, Kouzzina breakfast looks so good! I'll be eating there for breakfast one week from tomorrow! :thumbsup2

I like Christine's idea of starting the day/trip off right with champange  oh and of course the blender in the suitcase!

Tracy, how annoying to have a Chatty Cathy on the plane so early in the morning and then have to have a layover in Detroit :headache:

Ooooh those look powdered sugar-tastic!!! :yay:

Stacked Kouzzina Breakfast - Two Poached Eggs, Kalamata Olive toast, Artichoke Spread and Sweet potato Hash with choice of Bacon or Chicken Sausage - $11.99

Isn't that possibly one of the best breakfasts in Disney? I simply love it. (Although now, it's competing against the Steak and Eggs at Grand Floridian Cafe as well...Disney really does do breakfasts right! :thumbsup2)

Illuminations is my absolute favorite! Gorgeous, gorgeous pictures! (And now the soundtrack is stuck in my head...)

Okay, I really have to figure out how to take fireworks pictures. Those are so good! I just posted on my TR that I didn't take any on the cruise Pirate night because they never turn out. Maybe I should read that owner's manual, eh?

Great pictures, I'm sorry your mexican CS wasn't good though. We ate there last summer and enjoyed it. Melissa - I'm sorry your family couldn't survive without you and had to interrupt your vacation. Hopefully you'll get to do it again without that! At least you know you're needed!?

This TR is so much fun to read, albeit I get a little confused trying to remember who is who! It's just so cool to see how much fun you all are having! It reminds me of what they say on the podcast about the ABD trips - it's nice because you're traveling with people who share a common interest. I SO want to do one of those someday! Right after I win the lottery!

Hope you all have a great holiday weekend!!

MaryEllen, hope the soccer tournament went well, and that Brian was fine at home on his own.

I just found this TR yesterday and I am finally all caught up. I'm really enjoying hearing all of your different stories. I love POR, we stayed there last year in a Mansion room and it was really beautiful there. We actually just came back from our stay at SSR on Sunday and I am already suffering from withdraw so this is helping me a lot.
