HELP! Adding person to photo software ?

ok, I hope someone can help me.

I am trying to get a group end of the year picture of my class of kids. Well, there has always been someone sick. I got a great shot today of everyone but one and in my Print Shop 23 I added the boy and have a great photo. but...... it only saves in their software extension (.sig) or .PDF. I can not get these to upload to Walgreens and I even called there and they said no, it would not work.

I really don't want to print at my house -- I don't think my printer has the best quality.

Is there a free photo editing software program that you recommend? That would then save as a jpg?

Check out The GIMP. For Windows it is probably called WinGIMP.

Paint .net is another free image editing utility for Windows that has the kind of features you're looking for.

Here's a work-around to get a .JPG - IF you can display the picture large enough on your monitor (and you are using Windows).

Open the photograph in your editing program and display it as large as your screen will allow. Press the 'ALT' key and the 'PRT SCR' keys at the same time. This should capture an image of the Window of your editing program.

Open the Microsoft PAINT program and press the 'SHIFT' key and the 'INSERT' key. This should paste the image of the editing program Window into the PAINT editing screen.

Then you can select the photo portion of the screen by selecting the 'dotted box' tool which allows you to select a rectangular portion of the image. Once the area you want is inside the dotted box (selected) do a 'Right mouse button' click, select 'Copy To' and save it as a .JPG in the dialog that pops up.

I used the techinque to capture a picture of my browser window and selected the following - Good Luck:

But a SUPER thanks to BStanley for your idea -- I did it in two minutes and now I don't have to re-edit the picture.

I haven't used Gimp for a while but it has in the past been known as simply Gimp, so don't give up if you don't see a WinGimp.
