Planning Our Happily Ever After - A Disneymoon PTR! (NEW 7/13 - TR Link!)

Ooohhh, I'd love to be your twin! :yay:

That's what I keep telling myself - it will get done! I know there's not that much left to do, but for some reason if I'm not doing something I feel like I'm wasting time and that I'm forgetting something. I can't wait to just relax when it's all said and done.

It really is the best part of the whole thing. I know that's awful to say after all the time/money that goes into a wedding. But relaxing afterward really is the best part :thumbsup2

Very productive weekend you had! :thumbsup2

I have to give you major kudos. Not only are you getting TONS of stuff done, you have made sure to fill us all in also. :worship:

I can't believe its less than a month away now!! I'm so excited for you! :goodvibes

Love all your song choices! DH & I's first dance was to At Last by Etta James. I just  that song!

Yatschman is good. I ordered the wrong steak (should have had the filet instead of the porterhouse-- I hate bone-in steaks :sad2:), but the side (fries!) were super yummy, as was the bread (those onion rolls!!) DBF loved his steak and chocolate trio dessert. He said the peanut butter one was the best dessert he's ever had.
Our service was good-- I just didn't like that it looked over the pool. I thought that was kind of weird for a signature restaurant. :confused3 That was also during daylight hours though, so maybe if you go later you won't mind as much.

I am absolutely looking forward to the honeymoon more than the wedding. I'm really excited to see my vision for the wedding come together, but my fear of being the center of attention is kind of preventing me from being excited about actually doing the wedding. I'm hoping that the closer we get, the more excited I'll be about it. Until then, I'm just going to keep thinking about being in my happy place. :goodvibes

I feel like I haven't been a very good DISer recently, but I'm really going to try to be better between now and the wedding. There is still so much to update on, and not much time!

Thanks for the review on Yachtsman. :goodvibes Out of all of the places I listed, that is probably the one with the menu that is the most appealing to me. I feel like it's food is a little less...unique? :confused3 I've read some mixed reviews, though, so it's always hard to decide if it will be worth it, you know?

I haven't tried any of those (will try Yachtman in August), but I would suggest Citricos just for the ease of getting there from the Poly.

Mmm, I think any of those choices would be good, but if it were me, I'd go with Yachtsman! It's one of those places I've always wanted to try but have yet to actually go to because I can never fit it in! :cool1:

How exciting! Of those 4 places, the only place I've been is Yachtsman, and it's fabulous. I really want to try Citricos though, and that might be convenient since you'll be at the Poly. Tough choice! I highly recommend Yachtsman though...you won't be disappointed! :thumbsup2

Wow, I can't believe your wedding is so close! It is going to be so strange when this PTR comes to an end because we've been following along on your journey for so long! I'm so happy for you!

Okay, here's my vote for the signature: ARTIST POINT! I know I am biased because that is the only signature dining experience I've ever had, but that place is just so romantic and perfect for a Disneymoon! I just posted my update about our meal there on my TR, so hopefully that might give you an idea what it's like! :)

OMG!
ALL of those are WONDERFUL!!!!
Artist Point we recently had our first dinner at and the food was awesome and the service was great.

Citricos we had a wonderful experience at on our last trip. Food and service rocked!

Yachtsman is our staple. We eat there EVERY trip! We LOVE the waiter Oscar and our food is always scrumptious and we are well taken care of.

Flying Fish is great too! Our last trip the experience was a bit lack-luster, but we were sat in the back and we had our son with us so I think they were taking better care of others? Not sure.

You will have a hard decision on your hand... AP, Citricos and Yachtsman are the ones I would have trouble choosing between, but if Yachtman isn't already booke, BOOK IT! LOL :) We go because the food is wonderful, but we ALWAYS have great service because we ask to have Oscar as our waiter.

Good Luck deciding!

Hi, Courtney!
I just wanted to say hello!! I just found your PTR yesterday and ended up reading the whole thing along with your Engagement Celebration TR!

I have to say that I think we may be twins separated at birth! LOL! I'm from GA too (Barrow/Gwinnett County area to be exact). I also have red, curly hair. And Pooh is my absolute fave too!!

I have so loved reading every detail of your trip! I can't imagine how excited you are!! You've got some really awesome stuff planned! And your wedding is going to be absolutely gorgeous!

I can't wait for more!:thumbsup2

Welcome home! I hope your trip was wonderful! And I hope you'll be doing a TR. I'll definitely follow along. :goodvibes

My aunt made the punch for the second shower, so I'm not sure exactly what it had in it, but I do know that it had orange juice, pineapple, apple juice, club soda, gingerale and sherbert. :thumbsup2[/QUOTE]

Hmmm sounds yummy. I have had something along those lines before, I'll have to see if my mom has a recipe!
And yes, I have started a TR already..nothing exciting in there yet, just an intro! Getting started is daunting, I have 4500+ pics & videos, so editing, sorting, and uploading even a fraction of those is going to take a long long time! I guess I'll just take it one day at a time.

We are heavily weighing our options for next year already too...we are going, that we know for sure, and we went to take our moms with us. We think that we might just dive in head first and buy into DVC (w/ BLT as our home resort)...it's a big financial commitment though so we are still tossing the idea around. It's hard to get into my TR just yet when I am spending my spare time drooling over pictures of the view from BLT's Top of the World Lounge! :cloud9:

I found your trip report last week and have finally read thru E.V.E.R.Y. S.I.N.G.L.E. one of your posts (but not all the in-between stuff). I love the way you did the table of contents so all of your updates are easily accessible (to be honest, I'm a lurker and if there's no table of contents posts I'll skip over the thread).

Anyhow, I just had to post because I have truly enjoyed following your journey over the last year as well your wedding plans, trip to Italy and other Disney adventures (I'm about to read your Nov trip report now). I wish you and Miguel both the happiest life together!!! Congrats on your nuptials and I hope you have a SUPER Disneymoon (and 3 future kids). :hippie:

That's exactly why I was considering Citricos. It's definitely the most convenient of the four. :thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear you liked Yachtsman! I'd say it's currently in first place just because of its menu. The ease of getting to Citricos is appealing too, though!

I read your AP update and now I really want to go there! I really like the sounds of the atmosphere there. It definitely seems like the most romantic of the choices I have. :cloud9: It's so hard to choose just one!

It's so hard to choose between these restaurants! All of them have something about them that sets them apart from the others. I'd say right now I'm debating between Yachtsman and AP.

:welcome: Thanks so much for joining in and for reading! And for all of the sweet comments! :goodvibes

It really is a small world, isn't it?! My father's side of the family lives in Barrow county, so I know the area well!

Hmmm sounds yummy. I have had something along those lines before, I'll have to see if my mom has a recipe!

I need to go find your TR! I have the same problem too when I get back from a trip. It takes me forever just to get the pictures ready. I'm really hoping to stay more on top of it on this trip though and upload my pictures each night.

How exciting you're considering DVC! I've loved everything I've seen of BLT. I like modern design so I think I'd really like staying there. I think that would be a great choice for a home resort! :thumbsup2

:welcome: Thank you so much for taking the time to read! :goodvibes I've been noticing how long my table of contents is getting, but I guess that's what happens when your PTR has been going on for a year! I completely agree about the table of contents - if it's not a thread that I'm already following along with, I normally won't spend too much time in a report if its not well organized!

TRIP SHOPPING

One of my favorite things to do while preparing for an upcoming trip is to go buy all of my toiletries at Target! I know, toiletries aren't exactly exciting items, but while I might buy clothes for the months leading up to a trip, I save the toiletries until the final weeks (or sometimes days). So, making that Target run means that a trip is almost here!

Since I know that the next few weekends are going to be so busy doing all of the last minute stuff for the wedding, I wanted to go ahead and get my Target shopping taken care of. Also, I want to start packing this weekend, so I needed to make sure I have everything I need for my toiletry bag.

So, two hours and $300 later :scared1: I had pretty much everything I need for the trip! I promise I didn't spend all of it on toiletries, though! :lmao:

My plan is to have our honeymoon suitcases completely packed up and ready to go a week before the wedding (at the latest). This means that I can't have anything in there that I need to use throughout the week, or that I'll need at the hotel for the wedding. So, we'll be taking along two sets of bags, and two sets of toiletries, which is why you'll see multiples of some of the same items. Many of these things will be emptied into my clear plastic bottles that I got a while back from the Container Store.

Here's my loot!

I spent so much time placing every bottle to form this nice display, and I looked at the picture and realized it's just a big pile!

Here's some new things I'm excited to try:

I know that so many DISers swear by moleskin, and as someone who is prone to blisters, I thought this was a must have for our trip. Hopefully we'll stay blister free, but if not, at least we'll be covered. :thumbsup2

I thought this will really come in handy! Since I know we'll be spending a lot of time at the pool and two days at the water park, it will be nice to have a suntan lotion that can be applied to wet skin. I'm very fair, and burn really easily so I will be using a lot of this! We can use the regular stuff when we're not in the water. :thumbsup2

And of course, I had to get something to whiten my teeth for the wedding! This is the Target brand, so I hope it works. I have really sensitive teeth and gums so I can't use the Crest White Strips. A few years ago I used a Rembrant product that worked really well and didn't hurt my teeth, but it seems that they don't sell it anymore. :confused3 The Up and Up package looked to be the same thing, so hopefully it will beautify my teeth!

And finally, on to a few more exciting items...

As I mentioned, there will be a lot of time spent at the pool, so I wanted a couple of books to read to pass the time. I got two Emily Giffin books and I'm really excited to read them. I've read both the Something Borrowed and Something Blue books and they're great.

I also found some cute flip flops for the pool!

Since my pool bag that I bought has gold accents, I thought these would be perfect. I am going to wear them to dinner at 'OHana our first night, and then they'll be for the pool.

So, the plan is to start getting a lot of this stuff in the suitcase this weekend. Hopefully, since I'll have an extra day off, that will happen!

As I was reading this latest post and saw those sandals I thought to myself " those will match her pool bag perfectly!" LOL

I have problems with getting blisters as well. Never heard of the moleskin things... Might have to try them out for our september trip.

Buying toiletries is always $ and time consuming... but worth it all in the end.
I hope those white strips work for you! The Up and Up Target brand has many products that we've used and worked as well as other brands. I have super sensitive teeth and I can not use the crest white strips either. You'll have to let me know if they hurt your gums/teeth!

So excited for you that the time is getting so near!!! :) YAY!!!!!! Not much longer!!! :)

Girl, I do the SAME thing! I always go to Target right before trips and load up on everything! Ha. I get so excited. My mom just laughs at me. =] But I'd rather buy little stuff that I don't mind leaving in the hotel room, than bring fullsize and weigh down my bags!

So exciting that it's getting so close! Woohoo! I've always wanted to read those books.. just have never went and actually gotten them! Have to let me know how they are!

I do the same thing, stock up on everything at Target! They have the best selection of travel stuff!

I love those flip flops, they have such cute flip flops at Target! I bought a pair of black glittery ones a few years ago, and I still wear them! :thumbsup2

I love toiletry shopping for a trip, too! I also used to get excited about back-to-school shopping (but that's probably because I'm a dork  )

Good idea to have separate stuff for the honeymoon bags! Makes a lot of sense to be able to completely pack well ahead of the wedding without worrying about rearranging things.
