Welcome To The Caribbean, Love ~ Updated 5-27 P52

Thanks, Tim! How's Mel doing?
She's feeling pretty good, except her legs are killing her from standing at work. I can't believe we are less than 3 months away! :scared1:

I made a packing list!

Go, TK, it's your Disney trip, go, TK, it's your Disney trip!

And boy are we headed in to some heck of a countdown over here. Ye ole ticker says 1 week, six days, and I say, EEP!!! :scared1: It feels like we've been waiting for this trip for so long.

Excitement is running really high in my house right now. Nemo started a new tradition of talking about Disney every night before bed. We talk about our favorite things or what we're going to do on the trip, or food, or whatever, and it's great. I really love that he's just as excited about it as we are.

So, now that I've got my packing list, broken down by individual person, pretty much squared away, I need to go through our travel size tolietries and see if there's anything we're running low on or that needs to be refilled.

And I'm not trying to pressure myself, but I really, really, really, really, really want new tie dye for the family for this trip. I'm hoping that I'll be able to pull that together this week. I was so excited to see a craft store near us actually has the shirts I use on mega sale, and I'll be stocking up!

So, in short, things are looking up. :thumbsup2
It must be exciting for you that Nemo is so ... ummmm excited! :thumbsup2

I hope you do get those tye-dyes made before you go. :rolleyes1 'Ain't nuttin like a TK party, when a TK parties tye-dyed!' :rolleyes1

(Sorry about that, I was going with the singing theme ;))

You den of enablers you....so I was curious what is this Pirates nail polish you were discussing!! To find out it was OPI (the only brand I use) and of course they have a color I'm in love with...Sparrow me the Drama!! So now I'm on a mission to find someone who sells it where I live (I did find some places)...so you want to guess what I'm doing tonight...OY!!!

TK, so sorry things have been so rough lately. Hopefully things will ease up soon for you.

Yah for the packing list though! That means your nearly there!

LOL...I had to check it out too, and now I want a few of the colors! :rotfl: I really like the crackly silver that you use as a top coat, I'm going to have to go on a search this weekend!

I like the singing theme, and I have to tell you, I have a funny story for you.

My son asks me, out of the blue the other night, is this how DJs wear their hats? And he's got his baseball cap on kind of sideways, and all I could think was, I should ask Tim, is this how you wear your hat? :rotfl2: I said, sure! He was so cute.

From a den of inequity to a den of enablers. I like the colors too, although I'm not sure they're really me. I think if you go to OPI's website you can find places that sell it near you.

Not that I'm enabling or anything.

TK, so sorry things have been so rough lately. Hopefully things will ease up soon for you.

Thank you, hon!

And yes, we are SO close!

LOL...I had to check it out too, and now I want a few of the colors! :rotfl: I really like the crackly silver that you use as a top coat, I'm going to have to go on a search this weekend!

I think the crackly silver looks neat. If you end up getting that, will you post pictures? I'd love to see what it looks like on. :thumbsup2

Jackie, you are in the same boat as me, what is wrong with us this summer? I just cannot seem to get organized!

Apparently it is spilling into my real life, too. I should be packing up my classroom to move, and I cannot seem to get it together. Yesterday the sum total of packing that I did was taking some magnets off the filing cabinets -- notice I said some -- I didn't even manage to take all of them off before I was distracted. I haven't even finished grading all my finals, and grades are due Friday morning. If I don't find some motivation, we may be packing the morning that we leave.

I feel the same way. I get so distracted with house stuff, even while I'm working on other house stuff, I can't remember where I began, where I left off, or where I was in between! I'm confuzzled.

MJS just finished our kitchen floor, and I have asked him not to start anything else before we leave. I just need to get our house semi clean and trip stuff ready. There's not much time, I feel like the White Rabbit! :rotfl2:

Okay, seriously? Have you guys seen this?

The Pirates League

From May 20 - July 2, The Mermaid Transformation Package will be offered, perfect for girls who want to try something a little different than the traditional pirate offerings. The makeover includes vibrant sea-colored makeup, a full-size bottle of O.P.I.'s Pirates of the Caribbean: Mermaid's Tears Nail Lacquer, hair styling, a shimmering hair accessory, rhinestone face gem, Pirates League Sheath and a mini set of O.P.I. Pirates of the Caribbean Nail Lacquer. The package is $29.95 plus tax.

I so want to do this. I can't decide whether or not to take time away from our vacation to do this, and I know it's for "little" kids, but it sounds like so much fun.

Did I ever tell you all about the time that Mom and Nana did the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique? Oh, yes. They got princess makeovers, and my mother said the CM was giggling as she was going through her spiel, because they say, "Okay, princess, do you ever wear makeup at home?" And my mother said, "why, yes, I do." So freakin' cute. I got the best photos of them at tea afterwards, all done up. It was a riot.

Anyway, I think this would be kind of fun. Thoughts?

Also, one more random question for you guys. I have a baby carrier I like to use (THANK YOU, HEIDI!!!!!) but I'm seriously debating whether or not to bring it on the trip. We'll have the stroller and temps are looking to be in the upper 80s to low 90s. I think if I wear Squirt, I'll sweat to death. The only reason I consider it is if Nemo gets flat out exhausted at the end of the night, we could stick him Squirt's stroller and wear Squirt, but on that vein, if we're that tired, we're probably heading back to the resort, and I could carry Squirt.

What do you think?

Yeah as if you needed to restrain yourself from enabling me! Yup found a store that sells it and will be visiting this weekend to see what colors they have! I didn't realize the silver was a top coat...oy is all I have to say!!!

Okay I'm so with you on the mermaid transformation...it sounds like so much fun and would be something you could do for yourself!! I say go for it, I know I'm considering it LOL!!!

I have no idea about the carrier, I tend to fall in the category if you think you might use it bring it, of course this is leading to some challenges when I'm trying to pack for two weeks LOL!!!!! So I am obviously of no help LOL!

Just an FYI - the crackle, which originally came out as part of the O.P.I. Katy Perry line (obsessed much? I know, I know), isn't hard to use, per se, but you have to be meticulous. The "crackle" won't happen unless the color underneath it is completely, 110% dry. It also works better over flat colors (like the Pirates line) than it does over anything with glitter, something about the consistency of the glitter polishes doesn't quite make the crackle crackle enough.

I so want to do this. I can't decide whether or not to take time away from our vacation to do this, and I know it's for "little" kids, but it sounds like so much fun.

Do it! Oh please do it! Pretty, pretty please! I'd love to do this myself!

I say go for it. I would so go if I were going down during the time they are offering it. Where else can you walk around looking like a mermaid and nobody give it a second thought.

I just saw the Mermaid package somewhere, it looks like it would be so much fun, you should definitely do it! :) I've always wanted to do the BBB :rolleyes1. I would love to walk around with my hair all done up like a princess, with glitter all over me...but I'd feel so stupid!

I think you should bring the baby carrier, just in case! You might not use it at all, but it would be nice to have there!

Thanks for the tip! Is the Katy Perry crackle the black crackle? I love that, I'm kind of obsessed with black nail polish! It would be fun to wear around Halloween, or to MNSSHP! I think the silver crackle is pretty for the summer, I definitely want that and one of the Pirates colors...Planks a Lot is really pretty! I hope I can find some somewhere! :yay:

If it sounds fun, and you have the money, why not? Unless there's other stuff, like a tour, or other something special you've had your eye on you'd rather spend it on. :confused3

What do you think?

ABSOLUTELY, Kat, I think you should do it. I think you deserve it an dit is your trip too!

Can't help on the baby carrier--my baby is 23. ;)

1. DO IT
2. BRING IT

That about sums it up

:rotfl:

Seriously. For 30 bucks I'd be all over it! And on the carrier....they don't take up much space and you might want options. Heck, I used to garden with Evan in the bjorn in 90 degree Chicago summer humidity. Granted, it seemed like he'd fall out half the time, I sweated like a pig BUT he slept like a rock and things got done.

Options are good.

My four cents.

Oh my gosh! When did we get to be three months away??? Wow.
I know! She is due Aug. 13th! I know she will go a little before that though. ::yes::

I like the singing theme, and I have to tell you, I have a funny story for you.

That is so funny! :rotfl:

You can tell him they also wear them backwards! :rotfl2:

It is. ::yes::

If you can't find it, let me know. My local store was fully stocked of all the colors and the crackle was on its way. I'm happy to see if I can pick it up and send it on to you.

If it sounds fun, and you have the money, why not? Unless there's other stuff, like a tour, or other something special you've had your eye on you'd rather spend it on. :confused3

Yeah, like Jack Sparrow.

Oh wait? He's not for sale.

Ahem. Moving on. :rolleyes1

If I could orchestrate a way to do this with you, I so would. I am brain dead as far as scheduling things right now. :lmao:

I have no idea about the carrier, I tend to fall in the category if you think you might use it bring it, of course this is leading to some challenges when I'm trying to pack for two weeks LOL!!!!! So I am obviously of no help LOL!

You're going for two weeks? Did I realize this? WOW!

Do it! Oh please do it! Pretty, pretty please! I'd love to do this myself!

Well.

Just 'cause you said pretty, pretty please.

I think it's worth bringing, just to have the option. If you don't use it, you don't use it.

I think I'm going to pack it.

You know, you make an excellent point. :thumbsup2

You know what, I never feel stupid like that. I love it. I think it comes from having done theater. :lmao: Probably one of the reasons why I love MNSSHP so much, I love getting dressed in costume.

I think you should bring the baby carrier, just in case! You might not use it at all, but it would be nice to have there!

I think you're right. :thumbsup2

If it sounds fun, and you have the money, why not? Unless there's other stuff, like a tour, or other something special you've had your eye on you'd rather spend it on. :confused3

Not really. I've got my souvie shopping fairly planned out, and $30 really isn't too much.

ABSOLUTELY, Kat, I think you should do it. I think you deserve it an dit is your trip too!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Can't help on the baby carrier--my baby is 23. ;)

My mom always called me her baby. Didn't matter how old I was. And when my godfather passed last week, and it was explained to people that I was my parent's daughter as a frame of reference, I would say, "I'm the baby!" :lmao:

1. DO IT
2. BRING IT

My four cents.

You know what? The way you put that makes me think I may even want to use that as an option for around the resort. I'm not necessarily going to want to take the big stroller to the pool area, but the baby carrier is a definite possibility. I'm going to pack it.

I know! She is due Aug. 13th! I know she will go a little before that though. ::yes::

If she goes a few weeks early, our boys could share a birthday. Squirt's is July 26.

That is so funny! :rotfl:

You can tell him they also wear them backwards! :rotfl2:

Wait until I tell him I know a DJ.

Yeah, like Jack Sparrow.

Oh wait? He's not for sale.

Ahem. Moving on. :rolleyes1

I can't say what I'm thinking right now.
