ALL DDC GAMERS WELCOME!

I'll start with a quick run through the systems that we have:

I have two "gaming" pc's in my house, with another on the way.
Xbox360 (now just down to one)
PS3
PS2
Wii
2x Nintendo DS
2x Nintendo DSi (maybe one now)

My son is a fantastic Halo player who plays with his friends on my XBL account (though he's currently on restriction until he catches up in math). My daughter is getting into Halo as well and is doing very well in Reach.

My wife and I used to play Counter-Strike (1.3-1.6 then CS:S) competatively and for a time ran the Counter-Strike Team division at Proving Grounds where we managed 300 teams of players, monitored their matches, and watched for cheating. As a HUGE fan of the Half-Life seriies I've played the whole series through repeatedly, I'm currently taking my time through Portal2 while I wait for HL3 to come out.

As Christian gamers, we play we always use the buddy system, where one person always has another person in the room with them to keep them from slipping into inadvertant sin. Jealousy, hatred, cursing, etc. These are things that can be easily picked up when playing online and it's important that we play team games as a team so that we can grow together and not dissolve into bitter battles over meaningless and empty wins. I make sure to remind my kids that if they don't get a certain goal that they were trying to get that they know that it's an imaginary target in an imaginary universe and that it carries no real value in this world.

On the PS3, I play Battlefield Bad Company 2 (bad language in the single player missions, you can turn it off in the multiplayer) and Call of Duty Black Ops (fantastic when you turn off the objectionable content - 95% less blood and no cursing). A couple weeks ago at Miracle League we had the guys from Insomniac Games by to help "buddy" our players and I met some of the guys on their development team who have convinced us to get into the Ratchet and Clank series. T-shirts are coming for my son and myself as well as the possibility of a tour and beta testing! WOOHOO!

XBL: UncleRenty
PSN: UncleRenty
Steam: Rental01

Anyway, whatcha got?

We have

1 original XBOX <---keep for some old favorites that would not play on the 360.
1 XBOX 360
1 Wii
3 DS's

Very limited games mostly family oriented ones. Do nothing online.

Only shooters allowed are the Star Wars BattleFront 1 & 2.

We are addicted to the Lego video games. I'm not done with them until I'm 100% done...and I don't start another until the curent one is finished.

Need to get back and finish Epic Mickey. Tried to be the "Good Guy" the whole time...but I think I screwed up by helping Pete capture all those annoying little bunny's on Mean Street.

We have a Wii with the board so we have a ton of games. All the Lego ones (except Pirates due out soon) and ALL the Ravin Rabbids ones. LOVE THOSE!!
Im also online with Valve/Steam. Play Left for Dead 2, Portal, and Day of Defeat...prattpak
My BIL lives downstairs and has a xbox360 with COD black ops and Home Front. Which is a post apocaliptic game with the game play based out of cities in Colorado. Very cool stuff. If Casa Bonita is the final stage then Im throwing it away!!!

I hear that!

Wii purchase solely for Epic Mickey. DD has Michael Jackson and a few others.

PS3 was for Socom. (Flippin PSN $%#)

PS2 doesn't get used.

DD's DSi is on every other weekend and Wednesdays. Originally bought for Kingdom Hearts, but now she has a collection.

We have a Wii (primarily for Lego games and Super Smash Brothers, also dancing games for DW and DD)
PS2 - currently not hooked up)
X-Box - for when I retreat to the bedroom to escape DW's tv shows
X-Box 360 - (I promised myself I wasn't going to get one, but...well....)
DW has a DS, which I swipe every once in a while to play Pokemon or Professor Layton.

I heart me some item gathering/puzzle games (ie. Zelda, Resident Evils, the old Lucasarts SCUMM games) and RPGs (especially Bioware's offerings). Generally don't care much for sports games (though I love ESPN NFL 2k5 on the xbox) or First Person Shooters (they make me motion sick).

My XBL gamertag is: turkeycreaux (at this time, I only have the Left 4 Dead games, Fable 2, and Brutal Legend to play online. Oh, also Castle Crashers.)
I'll have to do some hunting for my SSBB friend code.

I really need to play Epic Mickey. I got it for my wife but she rarely plays it and I'd really like to get into it.

re: PSN - I totally agree

COD junkie here.....

my XBL tag is dadioIII

see ya'll online!

If you've been like me and not even trying to sign into the Playstation Network while they clean and disinfect, you may not have noticed that they've turned it back on.

You need to download the latest firmware and apply it, then you will be asked to go to the [PSN] icon and sign in. This will force you to change your password. If you are worried that there may be further consequences, Sony has partnered with Debix for free identity theft protection for their customers. linakge. If you run a spam blocker you will probably need to scour your spam box for the activation code.

The "welcome back" package that PSN is offereing for those who were impacted (read: everyone) will be as follows:

Each territory will be offering selected PlayStation entertainment content for free download.Specific details of this content will be announced in each region soon.

All existing PlayStation Network customers will be provided with 30 days free membership in the PlayStation Plus premium service. Current members of PlayStation Plus will receive 30 days free service.

Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity subscribers (in countries where the service is available) will receive 30 days free service.

Additional "Welcome Back" entertainment and service offerings will be rolled out over the coming weeks as the company returns the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services to the quality standard users have grown to enjoy and strive to exceed those exceptions.

Just finished playing through Portal2 with my son last night. WOW that's a great game! We had a BLAST. The end was totally unexpected and hilarious (which, if I'm honest WAS expected, but it was unexpectable in the way it was delivered). I strongly recommend this game to everyone with a heartbeat. Seriously. It's THAT good!

So... who's up for playing the co-op mode with me?

Is there cross platform Co-op? I'd be up for playing with you.

There is between the PS3 version and the PC/Mac. It requires a Steam account and only the PS3 allows that kind of cross-platform integration.

Anyone get Lego POTC yet? (Also Asked on the geek thread)

Not yet - we may get it next month. Just trying to pick a platform. I want it on the PS3 (in my room) but if my son is playing it all the time that'll be an issue.

When I was at Wally World the other night...the only had 1 copy left for X360

I would probably get it for 360...as I HATE the Wii controls.

Agreed. Some games require a standard controller.

I have it. My two kids and I have been loving it. Big fan of the Lego series.

I have a PS3 and 360, PSP, DS, and a Wii in a closet somewhere.

Ha ha I knew there had to be something.
I posted this in the main thread because i hadn't found this thread yet. But here it is

Ok excited and unsure. I know someone can help or at least guide me. I finally got approval from the boss (DW) to upgrade from a ps2 to a ps3. Managed to get the Uncartered 3 bundle 320gb PS3. Now questions I have are do any of you play (probably could have asked this first), and what would you suggest?

I am sure there is a disdad gaming thread (because there is a disdad thread for just about everything) and I will look for it. But if there isn't I figured I would post here.

Thanks in advance.

As for gaming systems we have
Wii
PS3 (In the mail, not here yet)
DS
DSi
2x PS2
Nintendo 64
Nintendo (everyone should have the original)
Sega
and computers
I do have two boys so I am not the only one who plays these :rolleyes1
