Just check the mailbox and the Summer 2011 B&H catalog has arrived. Not sure why I still get excited to see an already outdated catalog arrive, but it is fun to page through.

I'm so sad and pathetic. Ours came 2 days ago and I've been all over that rag! I ordered a Fuji fine pix XP 30 (in GREEN!!, DS's Favorite color) for our trip and back yard pool pictures. Happy Mothers day to me!

Thanks for the recommendation Scott! :thumbsup2 I've been trying to find a decent and affordable underwater camera for ages now and I think this one will fit the bill.

We also went with green. I hope it works out well for you. I still need to practice more underwater shots as I have no idea when the picture is taken as I cannot hear the beep or see the display with the glare.

I also forgot, DD loves the B&H catalog and has been bugging me for it. The Winter 2011 is now hers.

Underwater.... That's the main reason I'm getting it... that plus my 12 y.o. DS needs to get more involved with photography and having an underwater , knock around camera is the way to do it!

It's like in the movie "The Jerk" with Steve Martin...

"the new phone books are in! the new phone books are in!"

Oh and ours came today!

Got mine a couple days ago and it's been sitting there taunting me :rotfl2: "Open me....Open me" :scared1:

Got mine and really dislike that nearly everything has a "LOG ON" in place of a price. What are people supposed to do that don't use a computer or aren't online? :sad2:

Lately it seems a lot of companies are assuming everyone is online.

Lately it seems a lot of companies are assuming everyone is online.

I think it has to do more with the retail price fluctuation. If they show a camera body for $1000 and the price jumps up to $1200 as a result of the manufacturer then they will be forced to deal with customers who want the printed catalog price. The same goes for price reductions, granted customers would be happy.

It would be nice if they just printed the MSRP in the catalog and just say check on line for our price. At least you would have ballpark idea on how much something costs.

In both magazines I read, Pop Photo and Shutterbug most add direct you to the web for prices, it is not just B&H.

This log on business is actually a good thing because it allows B and H to keep prices competitive.

Let's say that when the catalog was printed Jan 1st a camera was selling at $1,000. If the price at a competitor drops, let's say 1 month after the catalog is released, then B and H will try to match the LOWER price.

So the prices are fluid, the catalog is set in stone once printed and B and H has a PHONE Number you can call for help, and they are very helpful both in person and on the phone!

Try calling, they won't mind!
