What are the benefits of being a campus rep?

So I just completed my second CP about two weeks ago (BYU Spring, it was amazing as always) and I applied for the campus rep position last month when apps were open. I got an email this morning identifying me as a strong candidate for the role and my interview is next Thursday, 5 May, at 10.30am.

Here's the question, though, and I've never really heard anything concrete regarding it. What benefits do reps receive for this position? I've heard so many different things that I'm not sure what is correct and what isn't. So would a campus representative here on the boards care to answer? I'm serious when I say an actual campus rep, I really don't need any more people speculating like all the other CPs have said in the past. I'm going down to WDW in July for a vacation and didn't know if I'd have any benefits from being a rep (ie., still having free admission, discounts, etc.).

Thanks!

Hi I sent you a PM about your question. I am a Campus Rep at my school in Wisconsin!

Is there a reason you unwilling to share this info with the boards? I'm sure others (myself included) would appreciate the information

Campus rep benefits are the same as your College Program benefits, but you can only get the blue pass if you pick up a shift in Florida.

Really? Interesting! When I was a campus rep during spring/fall 2008 we were sent a blue pass and didn't have to work. I guess they've gotten stingy ;)

But seriously, I LOVED being a campus rep. I'm sure the above poster has told you everything you need to know and things may have changed some since I did it, but it was a great experience and i got to talk to people about my college program experience all the time! I even recruited myself to come down for a second CP, haha. You also get some great contacts and it's a good way to stay involved in the company.

What school do you go to? I just applied for campus rep for MATC Milwaukee.

Hi,
I go to school at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I have been a rep for a year and a half and I am graduating in May. I am doing the CP again in August. Being a Campus Rep is really fun, but I think MATC Milwaukee is a e-presentation school, so I do not know much about e-presentation schools. Since you are staying with the company as a rep the networking is there and you can put the Campus Rep role on your resume as well. I wish you luck on your Campus Rep application process.

Thanks so much for the message, I appreciate it! :) My parents have been considering letting me go down in July but only if I could get the same benefits I did as a CP (yeah, they don't want to pay like normal guests do). I'm hoping the interview goes well, I have a really good feeling about it. I recruited via word-of-mouth last year just telling my CP stories, it'll be nice to hopefully actually do it via Disney this time.

I have been wondering this myself! i am an alumni who actually went seasonal but havent been able to complete my hours because i got married! :D lol. I had ALL intents and purposes to go back down but sometimes life is funny that way...I applied REALLY early for the alumni deadline, and won't find anything out until july probably (i am pretty sure that's when the email said they sent me). Good luck on your interview! I am sure you will do great!

Not sure if anyone would have stats on it, but just in case... does anybody know how selective Disney is when it comes to hiring Campus Reps? Is it easier/harder than getting chosen for the CP? I would think that people apply to be a rep for a specific college/region, and if that's the case, does the selectiveness just depend on how many people are applying for the same region as you?

Thanks in advance :)

From what I can tell, it really depends on how many positions are open at your school & how many people apply for those positions. I believe that people who are already reps are considered first. Some of my friends during my second program applied for the rep position at Virginia Tech & were told during their interview that there was only one position open & several people applying for it.
My friends said that when they went to the presentation, there were several reps there, which is what makes me think current reps are considered first, but I'm not 100% sure if that's true or not.

I had the interview this morning! :cool1: My recruiter informed me that I was the strongest candidate of those being considered at my university so this gives me hope!! I'll know by the 13th (next Friday) if I advance to the next step of the process. I'm so nervous!

I applied and am waiting to hear back. My school doesn't have a rep currently. I wonder what that means. As far as I know I am the only one who has done the program lately.

Ahh I go to Marquette!

I got the position!! :) I got the email yesterday. Two friends of mine also got it so we're excited to work together. Our first event is in a couple weeks- fall send-off party. Excitement!

Now, to pick up shifts at Disney (I'm going in July and want to work a few days), I suppose just let my manager know, they'll inform Access Control, I can go get a seasonal ID and then be good to go?

Yay! congratulations! Since the alumni application deadline isn't until June 10th(I jumped the gun and turned mine in a while ago he he) I won't know for a while!

I was accepted as a campus rep, but I ended up turning it down because the my interviewer told me I couldn't be seasonal at WDW at the same time. They didn't make it clear that I could pick up shifts where I was trained. So I turned it down then found out I could still work at BBB too. I ended up staying seasonal cause I'd rather work than set up booths and stuff every week! Oh well :(

So if you are a campus rep, you CAN pick up shifts in the role you did as a CP? I'm considering applying to be a campus rep but I want to be able to still work when I go to Florida...
