So I've heard that Patterson has washers and dryers in the individual apartments, is that true? So where is the laundry doesn't int he other apartments? Are they like the quarter machines, or are they free? Are they on the same property as the apartments?

The only housing with in-apartment laundry machines would be the commons which is reserved for international students.

The other 3 complexes have laundry facilities spread throughout, usually within 80-100 yards of your building. They use a pre-paid card. (Each laundry building has a machine that you use to purchase and/or add money to the card. I believe the card cost $5 the first time + whatever money you add to it.)

the washing machine is $1 per load, same with the dryers.

The card itself cost $4.
After that you can add whatever you'd like to it. Me and my roommates share one card and it's working out very well. We just put $2 on our own every time we need to do a load.

I would suggest bringing a lot of socks and underwear. You will be wearing your costume or pajamas most of the time anyway, at least that was my experience. I only did laundry 10 times on my 7 month program.

I could have gotten by with doing less laundry, but when I ran out of underwear it was time to do laundry. You can turn in your dirty costumes, and get clean ones when ever you want so you don't have to worry about washing costumes. I hardly ever turned in my costumes though, since if I did I couldn't be sure that they would have skirts in my size.

but if you use your costume for the whole day.. how can I not want to turn that in ? I mean you sweat [even if you dont notice it] or it can get a ll bit dirty or whatever....EW hahaha. If you turn them, dont you get a new one right away? I also thought you get like 5 costumes soooI could still turn one in and I would have 4 more right? #confused

No time. lol. Especially if some of your costuming locations are not easily accessible from your home base, which mine generally isn't. I work 40,50+ hours a week and generally never have time to run my costumes back (or, hell, even do laundry often enough) so I've learned to deal with sweaty costumes or wear something underneath.

You can wash them yourself, which I did. since you do get 5 costumes at a time and you usually work 5 days, you should be good. I liked to play in the parks before work since I usually didn't work until late afternoon, so I kept a few costumes in my locker to change when I got there since MK costuming is in another buiding and requires you to take a bus to get there.

I did return my shirts sometimes when I didn't have time to wash them, but once I found a skirt that fit me (the sizes were sometimes mismarked, causing them to be too short or too long) I kept it.

It all really depends on where you work, I was only inside so I didn't get too sweaty or wet. And some locations have more than one costume.
