Checking In

Hey Fellow Fall CPers :) I'm planning my trip down and I'll be checking on 8/22. A CPer from last semester suggested the Comfort Inn Sunspree resort because it is apparently across the street from Vista Way, can anyone else confirm this? And also if you suggest this hotel or another one I'm sure any one of us will be grateful.

Yep, I believe it is technically called the Holiday Inn Resort now (or something like that), but it is across from Vista.

I'm checking in the 31st, but am going for several days before just to play. I'm staying at ASMu. I think the Holiday Inn has better prices, but I can't NOT be in a Disney hotel lol.

Looking forward to seeing you down there!

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree before my first CP. It was handy for me, being that close to Vista (and it was a nice hotel).

This may sound stupid, but I'm flying down, and may have to stay the night beforehand. I was looking at the Holiday Inn across the street, but do most people stay there then walk over, or do they drive over?

I won't have a car, so if it's not close enough to walk, I'll have to take a cab, defeating the purpose of staying as close as possible. I could probably find a cheaper place to stay a little further away if I have to take a cab to Vista Way either way...

Or I can get a flight in the morning which should land at 8:45. For people who have done the CP before, is that cutting it too close? I know on the college program website, they recommend not choosing a flight that is set to land after 10:30, so does that mean I'll be ok?

Do Chatham and Patterson fill up so quickly that if I got there near 10, I'd be out of luck?

Well I haven't actually done the CP yet, but I've google mapped the apartment complexes dozens of times, and from what I recall the hotel is literally right across the street so you could walk.

I heard check in is supposed to start at 9, but everyone I've talked to says it starts around an hour early, so if you had a flight that lands at 8:45, you probably wont have much to choose from apartment wise. And I can imagine the day might be even more hectic and busy without an early start.

So, I recommend getting there the night before and staying at the hotel but just take whatever I saw with a grain of salt because I haven't done the program yet.

Who told you that it starts at 8?

I'm driving down, so I don't know anything about hotels really, but I also check in on 8/22 so if you need someone to help you haul suitcases , I'm your gal.

What's your role?

I'm checking in on the 22nd also. But I'm driving. :P
I'm also 8/22 :) What's your role?

I don't think you'll be so late that there would be no apts. but the ones that fill up quick are the 1 and 2 bedrooms, so you could get the complex you want with just a lot of people. I truly do recommend the day before though, just in case something happens to your luggage or a flight delay, or anything, you know?
