Requesting a Location?

I don't have any questions on how to request a location, but I want to request so many places!! I NEED TO NARROW THIS DOWN! And I would love any help!
(Just FYI, I've been accepted for attractions and everything, so I'm not just requesting roles out of the blue lol)

1. Jungle Cruise (I LOVE TO TALK and I would love to make a fool of myself)
2. Haunted Mansion (I just love the history of that attraction)
3. Kilimanjaro Safaris (Again, talking, but also because I love to drive and love animals.)
4. Spaceship Earth (My favorite ride... *sigh* and walking for hours on that "conveyor belt")
5. Splash Mountain (Another absolute favorite ride.)

My family is of no help because they're just excited for me to go (which obviously I am too, but I want to be doing something I love for four months).
So if there are any former CPs that have experience OR if there are any CPs starting this fall that are in the same pickle, I'd love to hear from you! Sorry if this is a dumb post. :P

I'm not really sure how to answer this. Did someone tell you that you could pick your location?

I personally would be between the Jungle Cruise and Splash Mountain. I think Splash Mountain is a ride with a ton of magic, one of my top rides at the whole park. :wizard: I also think Jungle Cruise would be top over Kilimanjaro, because you'd have the opportunity to be near the water. I'm sure that you would be sunburned to no end, so it'd be nice to have that nearby. Those are all amazing choices though! :goodvibes

I'm having a hard time narrowing my top attraction down between Jungle Cruise and Kilimanjaro Safaris (Spring 2012 hopeful). I think the Safari would be AMAZING because you get to be so close to some amazing animals every day, but the Jungle Cruise seems like more 'fun' (joking with guests, joking around in general), plus I like the feel of being around water, like what MickeyMouse 98 said.

No, but I know that we are able to put in requests, which may or may not be able to to be honored. But I would at least like to TRY to get a good spot.

Thank you so much MickeyMouse98 and Carly3592!

I think I will probably put in a request for Splash, Kilimanjaro, and Jungle. So at least if they can't honor one spot, there is a little wiggle room if they are at all able to honor my request in general. Thank you again!

I put in like four requests during my interview lol. I said Great Movie Ride (I love the idea of "old hollywood"), Tower of terror because there's some acting involved, haunted mansion for the same reason, and Rock n roller coaster because I'm a pretty big aerosmith fan.

Of those, I'd recommend Killamanjaro.

The CP office places you in a location, not an attraction. It's the actual attractions team that will place you, and they do not have access to your "requests."

For example, you request Jungle Cruise, CP office places you in Adventureland, and then you end up at Tiki Room.

Or... you request Splash Mountain, CP office places you in Frontierland, and then you end up at Big Thunder.

Killamanjaro is it's own area, so if the CP office places you there, that's what you'll get!

My good friends LOVES Haunted Mansion (which is part of the Adventureland/Liberty Square Team). He was placed in that location and was so excited. He showed up for his first day of training (MK Orientation) and found out he was at Pirates of the Caribbean. He was sooo close - but just by chance he was placed in Pirates and not at the Haunted Mansion. As a FT CM, they are cross trained... but as a CP, that is not an option unless you extend your program.

I really appreciate that input! I'm hoping to become a FT CM after the program, so knowing that I could be cross-trained is great!!! I'm going to put in my request today, so again, thank you all soooooo much!!! And hopefully I'll get to meet you all!

Where on earth can you request? I got accepted for attractions fall 2011 and I have read people calling in or talking about plugging what ride they want to work and while I am willing to work anywhere, I would love to work some of the museums. I'm a history major with an art history/curatorial minor and would love to work there since they are under the umbrella of attractions and my favorite part of the parks.

Is the only time to do this during the interview? Because I have no idea where to get the phone number, email or contact...

To make a request, you call the same number you called to schedule your interview (1-800-722-2930) or email wdw.college.recruiting at disney.com.

I think it depends on the location. I know CPs who were cross-trained in Icon (and they hadn't extended).

Two things:

1) I had you the last time I went on GMR in August. :D

2) How hard is it to get cross-trained during CP?

Oh nice! I hope you enjoyed the show :)

It depends on the location, but also depends on operational need. I think it may also help if you are on Advantage (instead of the regular program), because you would be there longer.

You picked such fun rides!! It is a bit hard to narrow them down!! :rotfl:
Anyway, also think about which park you want to work at. In this case- Epcot, AK, or MK? I hear MK CPs often get late shifts whereas AK shifts are usually during the day or morning.

hey im doing fall as well id love to actually talk to u if u have fbook good to get to know friends add me steven finkle

Yeah, it's more likely when you are there longer. Also, it helps if you have two attractions in your area that are very similar. Like Icon has Indiana Jones and American Idol, which are both theater shows. Tons of us were cross trained in both of those.
