DCL/Transportation Question

I know that this board is for College discussions, but I thought that I would spice it up and write about something else (and I'm a college student discussing) haha!! :rotfl: So my grandma and I are going on a cruise soon, and after the cruise is over, our flight doesn't leave from Orlando until 7 pm. We already purchased the Disney transportation to and from the airport, but I was wondering if there would be any way that we could do anything else Disney that day? My parents have a couple of tickets for the water parks that we could use, but I don't know at what time we get off the ship and if there would be enough time to hit the water parks for a day? Any tips or advice would be very appreciated! :goodvibes

You should be able to get off the ship 7:15-9am depending on which breakfast sitting you have (if you decide to go to sit down breakfast that is) and if the ship gets in on time (it normally does, so don't worry about that)

You definitely would have enough time to go to one of the water parks for a decent amount of time.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask me :) I'll answer them as best I can

I agree that you could spend some time in the parks but not if you are using Disney transportation to and from the airport.

I have never been on a Disney cruise and I have never used ship's transportation for any cruise I have been on, but I would assume they would pretty much fill the bus which is going to take some time. Then there is the ride to the airport. You would then have to get from the airport to WDW and then back to the airport.

I would assume you would get to the airport around noon. Needing a one hour check in prior to departure you would have to be back at the airport at 6. So allowing PLENTY of time, it would take one hour to get to a park, which would mean arrival around 1 and one hour to get to the airport, which would mean leaving the park around 5.

I think it would be pretty tight.

Port Cananeral is about an hour or so from WDW and the airport is less than an hour from Port. (all depending on traffic of course)

The buses they use for DCL are used ONLY for DCL on cruise days and a good amount of people use them so they fill up pretty quickly.

If you get onto the bus by 9am you'd be at the airport likely at 10am-ish.

The only thing you'd have to worry about would be your luggage but if it's set up with the disney transportation, I'm pretty sure they keep in for you until your flight.

And since MCO is a major airport it should be easy to get a taxi to WDW. From MCO to WDW is about 20-30 minutes.

Thanks so much for all of the tips! I'm still not sure what we are going to do yet (we may not hurry off the ship and just hang out at the airport for a few hours). I guess we could take the DCL bus to the airport and drop off luggage and take a taxi or bus to and from the water parks. Thanks so much guys and any other ideas would be great too! :)

You may not hurry but the CM will hurry you off ;) they want everyone off by at the very very very latest 10am since they start boarding again at noon-ish.
