The McSparklesons are BACK and they are CRUISIN! COMPLETE 10/4

The terminal was great but I can't imagine how crowded it will be for the Dream. They will need to stick to the check in times that are give out or else it will be a ZOO!!!!!

I think our winter is over - should be consistently in the 70's now with an ocassional day in the 60's...... I don't think I could handle coming back to winter after this cruise...... I would revolt.

I stopped by EL after the cruise to have lunch with friends! I was telling Jeff that you had been by there checking out the neighborhood. Another small world episode........ I'm telling you, DCL was the BEST vacation I've ever had!

Hey Girlfriend!!!! You know I love TRs!!!

I've been reading about the check-in times. People have been saying they can't possibly deny you so go whenever you want. The problem with that, is the boarding numbers are being assigned by assigned check-in time, which is determined by online check-in. So now you'll have a million rule breakers milling angrily around and blocking the doorway for the "legit" boarders. :headache::headache:

I'm glad your entry was MAGICal! When you said you were crying, I almost cried. I'm sappy like that too. I am so excited for you and so happy you loved the cruise! Poor Ally - I'll bet she was so relieved - up to the SUPERSTAH moment! :rotfl2:

Well I guess that makes you my new favorite reader!!!! So sweet of you to say!
And I live in Greer out by BMW also..... I used to live off Pelham Rd a long time ago. It really IS a small world, afterall..... you're singing now, aren't you? And cursing me for putting that blasted song in your head!!! BWAHAHAHA!!!!

Kinda like my Disney math that says a Value Resort one time, then a Deluxe Resort next stay, average into a Moderate resort? :confused3

You didn't know that? See JaxJags, it's "Disney Math" and in this case "Disney Calorie Counting"

Now I just need to find that special Disney Math that makes the next trip cheaper so it can come sooner..... :rolleyes1

BTW, I wanna know where my commission is from Disney? I have a good friend who just booked a 4 night on the Dream over Christmas. How awesome is that????
Yes, I am waiting for a check from Disney or my TA. I am responsible for lots of people's trips. Because, you know, I totally thought of going to Disney first. It only got popular after me. ;)
My parents live in Willow Creek. Are you near there? And my sister lives in Sugar Mill.

I just subbed! Followed you over from 999ghostlovers' PTR.
!
I think this is going to be an expensive TR for us. May get us into trouble. WDW trip reports are like gateway drugs. Now we are into the heavy stuff.

I like the Disney math. So if Disney math works then we should be paid time and a half for breaks and lunch breaks at our jobs so we can have a few more Disney trips. Better yet our Christmas gift should be a one week all expense paid trip to Disney, right?:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

That is the best analogy EVER!!! I moved onto the super hard stuff now....the dis mom trip. Lol

Love the Moo video and the Superstar pic!

I also had the Heaven in a Cup stuff. It was delish!

Come to think of it I had Heaven in a cup, plate, bowl, glass, etc..... There was Heaven everywhere I turned on that ship. Why, it was almost "Magic!" ;)

We were on this cruise also and had an AMAZING time!!!! We noticed a lot of fellow Ohioans on the ship too!! I think half the state was there!! Can't wait to read more!!

I love Ohioans, and I still claim to be one (just not in the winter! :scared1:).

I just found out about your TR, subbing. I missed your reports they are so funny.:lmao:

Aww, thank you! The question remains, are they supposed to be funnY?

I just subbed! Followed you over from 999ghostlovers' PTR.

I have never been on a cruise before and really, really, REALLY want to go. As I know absolutely nothing about it, I'm counting on you to teach me everything I need to know, okay:rolleyes1!? No pressure, right?;)
Seriously, I think you're so funny, and I've already learned a thing or two from what I've read so far. I can't wait to keep reading!

Hey, hey! Looks aren't everything! :lmao: No pressure. Stick with me young grasshopper and you shall learn.......

See, here's my take on that. I got to the terminal a few minutes after KristiMc and I got an earlier boarding# (I had the 10-10:30 check in time and she had 10:30-11) so I think they are combining the assigned check in time with what time you actually get there. If you show up at 10am and have a 3pm checkin time, I think you would get a boarding group of maybe 10-15. I can't imagine they would hold you until 3pm...... But you are right about the rule breakers, and with the size of the Dream (40% MORE people than the Magic), they will have to start enforcing it. I think word of mouth will spread and people will learn. Get there during your assigned time or be prepared to wait.

I'm glad your entry was MAGICal! When you said you were crying, I almost cried. I'm sappy like that too. I am so excited for you and so happy you loved the cruise! Poor Ally - I'll bet she was so relieved - up to the SUPERSTAH moment! :rotfl2:

She was scared, not gonna kid you. But I still got to be a superstah about 5 minutes after we boarded..... Yes, I cried a lot on this cruise. So far into the TR I've already cried twice, so keep the tissues handy......

I knew that about you! I think I read somewhere that YOU started the Disney craze! Amazing! Oh, and I just pm'd you......

Um, MY Disney math allows me to book Disney trips, make ADRs, surf DISboards, and write TRs all while working...... :rolleyes1

That is the best analogy EVER!!! I moved onto the super hard stuff now....the dis mom trip. Lol

Girlfriend, you have NO idea......... :rolleyes1

uuuhhh --we call those people that HANG on the entry ways to planes, trains, cruise ships, et. al....gate lice. Man they are annoying

We were on the Magic the week before (19 - 26). Re-booked an Eastern fo next year.

Love your tr so far - looking forward to seeing how the rest of your trip turns out!:thumbsup2

Joining in!!! Just found your TR and see that you live in Greenville. Well I live about 30 miles from there. As a matter of fact, we're heading to Greenville tomorrow for the "Southeast Travel Show".

Can't wait to hear more about your trip. We're getting ready for our Dream Cruise in June, so reading all these TR's is getting me more excited!!

I'll chime in too on the boarding times....I could have sworn I had clicked the 10-10:30 time but when I went to fill in some more info only 3 or 4 days out from our cruise, it was no longer there and I only had 1:00 or later to choose from. So, of course, I clicked the 1:00...and we arrived at port around 10:30. (Remember me saying I'm a rebel without a cause? Watch out, here I come?!:lmao:) Yeah, well, we were handed a 23 boarding number. So...what time you click on the online check-in DOES matter.....But, we did have some pixie dust that I'll explain in our TR I'm gonna start this weekend.:)

Oh and the Supastah pic literally had me LOL'ing!!! Love it!! (And also the hangar shirt pics...I wish you had told me this is a new trend because I know I played "hide-the-hangar strap" numerous times throughout one day only to NOW find out I could have saved the effort and been a Supastah too!!!;):thumbsup2:rotfl2:)

I wanted to get the smaller bars, but couldn't get the design sized right, so it was to everyone's benefit that I had to get the big bars!

I'm so glad you got the big ones...We ate them the day we got back- chocolate is supposed to help prevent depression.;)

RE: Boarding - it seems like what I read - it is kind of up to the CMs to see what you signed up for and when you did the online check in. :confused3

I have the tissues ready!

Number 23? How long did it take you to get on? I'm going to do our best to not be early I guess. We are boarding in LA, which is using the same system. I signed up for 11:30-12 So we didn't have to rush our family members giving us a ride.

Maybe you and Kara started a new trend and visible hanger straps will be in vogue for next year! :goodvibes

Now THAT is funny!

Ewww, gate lice, I like that!:cool1:

Ookie......

We were on the Magic the week before (19 - 26). Re-booked an Eastern fo next year.

Love your tr so far - looking forward to seeing how the rest of your trip turns out!:thumbsup2

I am looking at booking a 6 night Western in March next year, but I REALLY like the Eastern itinerary. It's the first two days at sea that I just LOVE!

Let me guess... Anderson? We are actually in Greer, but I tend to do all my shopping in Spartanburg, I guess because I lived there for about 10 years before moving to Florida. It's not as crowded as Greenville.....

It's tough being a trendsetter..... but I guess someone has to do it. So when people were pointing at me all day, it's because they were saying, "ooooh, now THAT is the look I want," right?

That stupid chocolate had to be CARRIED on board so it didn't melt or get crushed in a bag. And it was HEAVY!!!! At least the booze was in the rolling carry on, but noooooooo, Kara got the CARRY carry on with the umpteen chocolate bars!!!!

I'm going to remember that one! :rotfl2:

Tammie, I am dying to hear about YOUR cruise!!!! Here's the funny thing about those check in times, too. If you have an 1130-12 check in time, that still means you are going to get there before anyone boards, right? Since they don't even start until sometime around then (I think it was about 11:50 for us). So if you get there at 11:45, you still just get to mill around with everyone else, and then hop into the OK Corral. So really the 10-1030 is kind of a silly time, because that means you really wait the longest. We waited about 2 hours before we walked the plank...... you should only have about an hour to wait, right? So the moral of this story is..... if you want to spend less time in the terminal, sign up for a LATE check in......

Yes! I'm going to try to show off all my hanger ribbons next time!;)

I think you're right - I'm going to push for noonish. Maybe we'll have a late breakfast at Tom's and then just snack a little for lunch on the ship.

You'll have to tune into my TR I'm starting this evening or tomorrow morning to find out....;):)

Okay, you're twisting my arm - be sure to post a link!:goodvibes

I think most people who arrive at the terminal super early are first time cruisers who don't know what to expect. If (WHEN) I do it again, I will shoot for a 12-1 check in time and then hope to board right when rooms are ready, drop our stuff off, maybe unpack if we have any luggage there, then get to a quick lunch around 2 or so...... All we did this time was eat right at noon when we got there, and then explore the ship from 1-1:30 and then race to see our cabin...... then we explored a bit more. But really, with two sea days right off the bat, I would relax more the first day..... NEXT time! ;)

Great report! It was great Sunday afternoon reading!!!! Is there more to it? I couldn't find the end...

It's a work in progress! Check back often as I promise to update frequently! :)

Oh, oh, do YOU look like the mailman, too????????

My dad had a fun day at the masters yesterday because a neighbor gave him tickets. That is some neighborhood y'all live in!

We do enjoy it..... but if you like this neighborhood, you should see where we lived in FL....... I call it a retirement village for families because it was so active with something going on all the time! I gained 15 lbs in 3 years there because of all the, er, um, "festivities!" ;)

For those of you wondering, 999ghostslover's parents live about 4 houses down the street from me..... we just discovered this last week! How "Small World" is THAT?????
