Hello All:

I have been OBSESSED with reading dining reviews that you all have been posting for at least the last year. They are wonderful. Although I've been to WDW over 40 times in my life, I have never thought to do this. I, for the first time, am going to venture to do a dining review. If I'm not to nervous and my newlywed DH does not kill me, I am also going to try to get in some pictures! Woo hoo!

Cast of Characters:

:wave:Me (35) newly wed and disney veteran. I was lucky enough to be raised on Disney and have gone to California, Disneyland Paris, and WDW over 40 times. I am an addict. I will eat just about anything, except steak. I know, weird!

pluto: DH(32) newly wed who thinks I'm nuts! :) This will be only his second trip EVER to WDW. He loves it, and can't wait to hit it all up again. He is a meat and potatoes type of a guy. He is in no way into seafood or anything daring....poor guy!

::MinnieMo DM(67) She has been to WDW so many times, but is not as much of a fan as I am. She always went because she had to. Another very limited eater. She likes things bland, and she is not adventurous!

:donald: DSister (39) She is a Dis veteran as well. She's been there done that. She's a little slower now than usual...was diagnosed with MS 7 years ago. She's like me and will eat ANYTHING! That's my girl!

:sulley: DNephew(12) He's my boy! Will eat and do anything. Not really picky at all. He's going to be probably 6'6' and have a football player's build, so he'll eat his food and whatever else we don't eat! This is his first trip.

:tinker: DNiece(8) She is a tiny little thing! Very picky eater! She won't eat much, which means her brother can eat her food! lol

We are on the basic dining plan. I don't know which snacks or quick service we will be at..that will be a surprise, but here are our table service.

Tutto Italia(dinner)
Kona Cafe(breakfast)
'Ohana(dinner)
Mama Melrose
Les Chefs de France
Raglan Road
Chef Mickeys
Citricos(just dh and I)

Some new ones and some old stand bys...we shall see how it goes...wish me luck! This might be a bumpy ride! lol

Thanks so much, Chocolate Minnie. We are at 12 days out! I think I'm more excited than the kids are!

I'm reading along! We will be there around the same time:goodvibes we leave in 11 days:banana: soooo excited! We are trying Tutto for the first time. Had it on our line up last year but we ended up canceling that one and ate elsewhere.

I will definitely tag along! Looking forward to your reviews! Tell DH that all good Disers must take food porn pics! :upsidedow Mine is so used to it now that he won't even pick up his fork until I have snapped my pics!

I try, and try to tell him, but he just gets embarrassed! I'm going to break him of it if I spend the entire trip trying. Maybe I'll just bribe him with some caramel from Caramel Kuche! :rotfl2:

That may work! :) Seriously though after several 10 day deluxe dining trips I have only had one person even comment on my taking food pics. DH just told him it was for a food blog and he asked if I wanted to take pics of their food as well! :rotfl: No one pays any attention to it, really!

Happy Easter everyone....we made it. It may have been hot, we may have been a bit cranky, and it may have been crowded beyond belief..but we're back and we had a GREAT time. Now to the food...

We arrived on Friday night(4/15) and checked into the All Star Music family suites for the night. We quickly went to bed, since it was probably technically Saturday morning. We woke up the next morning and quickly hit the food court.

Now since I am new...it took me a while before I got good with taking pictures and the such.

Here's what I had:

Chocolate Chip pancakes and bacon(otherwise known as bacon flavored sawdust) and a nesquik chocolate milk.

DH had the big breakfast..you know eggs, sausage, pancakes, bacon and um..coffee..if that's what it's called!

The Good:
The pancakes were delicious, actually. Not too chocolate-y!

The Bad:
The breakfast platter wasn't great, but it was edible...so he claims

The Ugly:
uggggh...the bacon and the coffee. Neither of those were actually palatable...I'm no snob, I pretty much go with the flow...but ulch!

Here's a little helpful tip...don't go in April when it's around the time of Grad Night unless you LOVE teenagers. Now I'm a Dean of Students at a local high school and they dont' bother me...but my hubs on the other hand...lol..let's just say..the All Star wasn't for him...good thing we were all moving to Boardwalk Villas...

More to come, ya'll!

So going through my photos...I realized I pretty much only took pictures at Table Service meals...my bad..sorry ya'll!

So we went to check in at the BWV's @ 3pm, but the rooms weren't going to be ready until 4.(boo) ;)

We went to the only counter service on BW property, the bakery.

I was tickled pink, due to all the delicious talk on the boards. Only thing is...all the sandwiches are premade and they cannot be altered, much to my mother's chagrin

Here's what we had:

Me--Turkey sandwich, water, and chocolate peanut butter cupcake(are you kidding me..that sucker took me three days to eat...heaven ) Turkey sandwich had swiss, lettuce, tomato, and cranberries. The turkey was okay..the rest of the sandwich was AWESOME. Too bad I didn't get to eat it(more on that in a couple minutes) ;)

DH--Italian sandwich...my husband...a man of so few words says, 'It was good'. He also got a water and a no sugar added cheesecake..which strangely enough we never got...don't know where that little bugger disappeared to! :confused3

DMother---now I love the woman..she's my mother..but she is a pain in the @ss when it comes to food. The woman likes NOTHING...she has bland taste and hated everything that was there...she went for the roast beef...I think...water and chocolate mousse cake...um...yum!

DSister----roast beef sandwich(with blue cheese, carmelized onions and basically all around deliciousness) water and chocolate mouse cake

DNephew---he got the roast beef sandwich toasted, coke, and a chocolate peanut butter cupcake. Now he HATED his sandwich..he doesn't like blue cheese so I switched with him. I am sooo glad I did. Here's a little tip, Dis'ers..if you get the roast beef sandwich here, have them toast it...it makes it soooo much better...warmed blue cheese and the hot onions...the best sandwich I had the whole time!

DNiece---tomato, mozzarella and basil sandwich(she LOVED IT) sprite and a cookie

The good----
OMG..that toasted roast beef sandwich....and the chocolate p'nut butter cup cake

The bad---
according to my mother..everything ;( lol

The ugly---
Nothing really....we sat ON the boardwalk in front of Kouzzina...it was pretty magical!

I'm in! You guys are trying Mama Melrose and Citricos which we've never tried before, so I'm excited to hear what you think! Best of luck!! Can't wait to read more!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Great review so far! I'm 12 days out from my solo dining adventure and I'm impatiently waiting by reading reviews!

Sounds good so far... I've only eaten at the bakery for breakfast (they have great egg croissant sandwiches). Might try lunch (that toasted roast beef sandwich) one day. Thanks for the info!!

Okay...so we stayed at BWV; therefore, I booked many of my meals in Epcot. It is so close and convenient..how could we go wrong?

First dinner was at Tutto Italia. We had a 6:10 ADR. We arrived at 6, and were seated immediately. We were the second table the minute you walked into the restaurant. We weren't even in the main dining room, which was awesome because it was nice and quite. The atmosphere was fab as was everyone who worked there. All very nice servers. To be honest..we had amazing servers..except for France...but that's a story for another day!

So I have no pictures of the meals, but I finally remembered to take pictures when it came to dessert...then I was right on top of it!

Me--Brasato Di Manzo Al Vino Rosso - red wine braised short ribs, mashed potatoes, and vegetables $29....meh..it was okay...I felt like it was standard crockpotted pot roast, of which I am NOT a fan. It was good enough, I suppose. To drink..unsweetened iced tea and water(lots of lemon)

DH---Arrosto Di Vitello In Porchetta - veal roast, mushrooms, potatoes $29...He LOVED IT. He RAVED about it. If I hadn't been there he would have LICKED THE PLATE! He also had water with lemon.

DM---Costata Di Maiale Alla Valdostana - breaded pork chop, stuffed with prociutto ham, and fontina cheese $28....Shockingly, she HATED it. She said there was too much breading and the pork chop was dry..honestly..she's freakin goldie locks and nothing will ever be right...

DSister---Cannelloni al Forno - baked with spinach, ricotta, bechamel and parmesan cheese $25...She LOVED it too. Thought the cheese was amazing and really liked the bechamel sauce. It was just enough food too, not too much and not too little.

DNephew had the same as my husband..and loved it.

DNeice had children's salad and bow tie pasta. Let me just say that for a little girl who barely eats anything..this kid housed that food. There was nothing left at the end.

Now the desserts:

Tiramisu
009-1.jpg

Now the waiter told me I should try this and that it was sooooo good. I didn't love it. It was too soggy and didn't have enough flavor..and I love me some tiramisu...I was let down!

Cannoli
008-1.jpg
My husband LOVED this. He claimed he won.(This is a game we play based on who chose best for dinner. According to him, he always wins! lol)

Dessert trio:

Everyone else in my family got this. They raved about it. I was going to get this until my waiter talked me out of it, that jerk! lol

The Good:
According to my DH...everything he ate. Also the atmosphere and the servers.

The Bad:
My tiramisu and my short ribs, sadly.

The Ugly:
My mother says the pork...who knew the other white meat would be such a little bugger!

Up next...breakfast at Kona Cafe *sigh*

So I woke the family up BRIGHT and EARLY @ 6:30am. We had an 8:50ADR for the Kona Cafe and we had to make it from Boardwalk to Magic Kingdom and then hop the monorail to the Poly. I knew we needed to leave by 7:30. So dutifully my family was out the door by 7:30 and we went to the bus stop. We hopped a bus within 4 minutes and was to the Magic Kingdom by 7:50. We got to Kona at 8:18 and I figured with it being Easter week, we'd have to wait. (As a side note..we were early to EVERY ADR and never had to wait more that 5 minutes..and sometimes we were an hour early.)

We were seated and I was vibrating with ecstasy in my chair. All I could think was Tonga Toast. Tonga Toast. The rest of my family isn't into breakfast, and therefore my husband and I were paying out of pocket for the entire family to eat here. He LOVES breakfast and I LOVE Tonga Toast...how could we go wrong?!

Me and my mother---Tonga Toast. Delicious...the strawberry compote cuts the sweetness just enough. It gives it a tart, delicious flavor. I also had the liliki(sp) juice. For me...tooo tart/sweet. I would have liked a bit less of it. The banana stuffed french toast was divine. The ham I had really complemented it.

DH--He had a ham and cheese omelet with bacon(ick), biscuit and coffee.

DS--The Somoan - poached eggs with Hollandaise served over smoked pulled pork hash. She didn't love it. She said it lacked flavor. She claimed the pulled pork needed sauce or something. She was underwhelmed. She had coffee.

DNephew---He had chocolate chip pancakes(not on the menu but they did it for him). His gripe....too chocolate-y! Um seriously...are you even my nephew? How can something have too much chocolate?

DNiece had the Kid's fruit and yogurt plate. I was underwhelmed with this. The fruit looked good, but didn't taste too great. Well the strawberries were good.

The Good---

All hail Tonga Toast...I love thee:rotfl:

The Bad---
the Samoan...a big let down

The Ugly---

my family for me waking them up so early! hahhahahaha:rotfl2:

Tonga Toast---

I'm sorry..I took a bit before I took a pic...can you blame me??

Up next....Pecos Bills

Now I know lots of people on the Dis can't stand Pecos Bills, but I am a fan from way back. I was so psyched to have the Taco Salad, but sadly not on the menu anymore...this depressed me, truly!

Everyone in my party got the 1/3lb cheeseburger. It was ok...I am totally NOT a fan of Disney burgers(actually I don't really love red meat). My husband who is a huge carnivore agrees that they were, meh. Also, the fries were SOGGY! Now we all had waters, except my nephew who got a LARGE coke...let's just say unless you're thirsty or planning on sharing it with someone else, no human being should drink that much soda in a sitting!

The best part about the meal was the hot onions and sizzling mushrooms we could put on the burger from the fixings bar! Delish!

Desserts...we got three carrot cakes and two chocolate cakes. The carrot cake, as was the consensus throughout the trip, was way better than the chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was nothing special.

Ooooh...I forgot..my mom actually got the chicken caesar salad! It was good..which is shocking that she liked something! :lmao:

The Good---
Fixin's bar...by far the best

The Bad---
The soggy fries

The Ugly---

The freakin wait in there was ri-dic-u-lous! Everyone and their mother was eating there at the exact same time! Toooo much!
