4 Hot Mamas take on the World 9/2011! *UPDATE 8/31* I'm leaving TODAY!!!

Sounds like you are going to have an amazing trip! I love it when people experience Disney for the first time, and girls trips are the BEST!

I say that with love in my heart for my DH, but then again, I'll be planning a girls vacation as soon as we get back from our trip!

I'll be following along!:thumbsup2

:welcome: My first follower, yay! Thanks, Jenneth79... glad to have you along for the ride!

Even though we will not be on any DDP, we decided to have one sit-down TS meal per day. I just made our ADRs online! :woohoo:

lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe

lunch at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater

breakfast at The Crystal Palace

dinner at Boma

Although the BFF is 34, she is a little kid at heart... so the idea was to go to places that were F-U-N! I've been to all of these restaurants before and really like each one.

WCC, Sc-Fi, and CP were mostly chosen for the atmosphere. I was at WCC last October and thought it was a hoot... and the Canyon Skillet was yummy! My sister loves all the Pooh characters, so CP was a no-brainer. Mom has been to Sci-Fi and gave it :thumbsup2. And Boma is my all-time favorite, so that one was my "must pick"!

What about you? What's your favorite restaurant at WDW?

We have never been to WCC, but really enjoyed Sci-Fi, CP, and Boma. We're even going back to CP and Boma for this trip, although we've booked 50s Prime Time I'm having second thoughts about that and thinking I'd like to change it to Sci-Fi.
Your trip sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. Looking forward to following along with your planning :) I've started a PTR for the first time ever myself, but have no idea how to put the link into my signature like you did! lol

:welcome:, MARsMama!

We did 50sPTC on our last trip 2010)... it was fun! Food was good (I had the fried chicken... I think my DH had the pot roast) and the waiters/waitresses were a hoot. Of course, I think most of their antics were lost on my DDs (9 and 7 at the time of our trip). I'm not sure my kids have ever seen an episode of ANY black & white TV show, LOL! We did Sci-Fi on our 2007 trip, so this time I had wanted to try a different place. I do have to say if we were to eat at either one of these places again, my DDs would pick Sci-Fi. They really thought it was cool eating in a "car" under the "night sky"!

As for including the link to your PTR in your signature, it's fairly easy to do! First, get the URL to your post (it should look something like this:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2691269) Then, go into "edit your signature, and type out what you want (title of your PTR, for example). Above, where you can set the font, color, etc... click on the graphic for "insert link" (it looks like a globe with a chain link). Then just paste your URL and you're set! Hope that helps!

Thanks for the help. I gave it a try, not sure if it works yet, but I'll check it out.
I was just worried that 50sPT might be too interactive for me as I'm fairly shy and some of what I read seems like it might make me cringe! lol

It worked! :thumbsup2

I'm trying to remember what all the waiters/waitresses did during our lunch. The only thing I can remember is our waitress telling us to be sure to eat all our veggies or no dessert. And she interacted with the waiter for the table next to us... they were pretending to be siblings. I can't remember what the waiter did, but our waitress was telling her "brother" to stop, and if he didn't she was going back to the kitchen to tattle on him to their "Mom"! So it was a lot of interaction between the waitstaff... not so much with us.

WooHoo...thanks for you help :)

Ok, that doesn't sound so bad then. I thought I read somewhere that someone had to stand in the corner for not eating all their food or having elbows on the table, or something like that. I don't mind interaction as much as being put on the spot or *gasp* singled out!!

You are most welcome :)

I don't recall seeing anything like that while we were at 50sPTC. Not to say that those things don't happen, but I would think the waiter would not make a person do something they wouldn't want to. At least I'd hope so, LOL!

I'm sure you'll have a good meal and a fun time!

Yay on having a girly trip to Disney World! :thumbsup2

Am looking forward to hearing all about the first experiences. Your ADRs sound great - we are also eating dinner at Boma :)

:welcome:, Tanz... thanks for joining!

Boma is one of my all-time favorite restaurants at WDW. It's one of the few places I'd go back to on every trip!

With the laundry done and the weekend winding down, I thought I'd post a little update while waiting for dinner to finish cooking (is it just me, or do the weekends seem to be busier than the weekdays?)

Now that we've decided the dates for our trip, the next step was to determine what parks to visit each day (especially since we are not doing Park Hopper).

I only became aware of crowd calendars last year, however didn't think to utilize them while planning my family's trip. For both our 2007 and 2010 trips we stayed at All-Star Movies... I decided what park to visit each day based on EMHs. I was all about the extra benefits to staying on-site.

However, for this upcoming girls-only trip, we are staying off-site. I've looked at both Touring Plans and Easy WDW... based on the predictions for crowds for the days of our trip, we are visiting:

Epcot on Monday 9/5

HS on Tuesday 9/6

MK on Wednesday 9/7

AK on Thursday 9/8

My next order of business will be to plan out what attractions we want to see and the best times to see them. I think this will be easier said than done, however, since it will be a little difficult to get the 4 of us together. Mom and I live in the same town, but my sister lives about 2 hours away (in one direction) and Helen lives about 3 hours away (in another direction)!

Well, the oven timer just went off... so until next time, I'll ask:

What's your favorite park: MK, AK, Epcot, or HS?

Yay on being able to post your park days in between doing all the cooking etc - I must be the only woman who is really bad at multi-tasking! Am getting better though...

Wow it will be hard for the 4 of you to get together to make plans...hope you manage to find a way around it.

I have not been to any park yet but based on Internet research I would say Epcot is my favourite - this may change after my visit to the World :rotfl: I will let you know if it is suddenly MK, DHS or AK after our trip ;)
