I'm trying to help my ex-sister in law (long story, but we REALLY do get along :lmao: ) plan a trip to WDW. They need BIG TIME budget advice. Here are the specifics:

It's her, her husband, adult daughter and son in law, and 3 younger children (ages 7-13)
Going 3rd week in June
Son in law is military, so will get discounted 4-day passes
Her 13 year old is disabled, so she will need a GAC (I don't know anything about these, so any advice on that would be helpful as well)
I'm pretty sure they'd be willing to stay off property, if that's the most affordable option. Something with a full kitchen would more than likely save them money--I just don't know what places are the best.

Help, please! They really deserve this trip, so I want to help them make it happen in the most affordable way! Thanks!!

Check here for Disney's discounts for military families.

Check Shades of Green for military rates.

You can check the DISabilities forum here on the disboards to learn about the GAC and getting around the parks.

Sometimes it can be less expnsive to stay onsite with a discount than it is to rent a van and pay for parking at the parks. Parking is $15/day. Rental car rates can be pretty hefty in June. But if they are driving to Orlando and they can find a good price, an offsite condo will give them more room to spread out and a full kitchen to make breakfasts and some dinners. Check the Orlando Hotels and Attractions forum to get input on nice, affordable places to stay.

I checked SOG for them and there is no availability. I should have stated that they are driving, so they will have a car.

Bonnet Creek would be great! Check out the Bc thread.

Also...they would be eligible to rent a condo via govarm.com and afvc.com. Should be able to snag one for about $300 for a week. If they see what is open for their dates, they can compare the resorts reviews on tripadvisor.

Hope this helps!

Another option I forgot to mention is vrbo.com, homeaway.com or cyberrentals.com. The can rent a condo, or pool home by private owner. There are literally hundreds of great places to be had for around $500 a week.

If they pick a commun ity, they can check the reviews as well.
