The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Great photos of Epcot and Illimuniations. We've not seen Illuminations in years, and your pictures are great.

Illuminations has grown on me since I got the CD. I originally got the CD because I really liked Tapestry of Dreams and it is on the same CD.

I like the power of the orchestra during Illuminations. I like the beginning and the end of Iluminations but someof effect during the middle are just OK. I usually just sit back, maybe even close my eyes and listen to the music.

Thanks for the fountain picture and the evening at Epcot. I don't see Illuminations often, because the others are always ready to go to bed. If I see it, I usually see it alone. I love listening to the CD and 'being' in the crowd of people of all ages, countries, and walks of life gathered around the lagoon watching that event. It seems like I most often see Illuminations in the summer, too, so whenever I think of it, I think of it on a warm summer night.

Hi Pat, great Epcot pictures! I love the twilight time at the parks when the sky is slightly orange. Everything looks so pretty than and you captured some of that in your pictures. :goodvibes

Also, sounds like a fun evening. Katharina and I are planning our days for the October trip at the moment. I am very tempted to spend evenings in Epcot, but am a bit scared about crowds, especially due to F&W... :confused3

Great photos Pat! I want to make sure we see Illuminations this year! We tend to always miss it.

I am so glad you like EPCOT EMH. We are planning to do more EMH this vacation. In the past, we have only done AK and that was the night EMH which they no longer offer.

How was the wait times for the rides?

I love watching the park go from "day" to "night" and the changes in the lights, sounds and general atmosphere.

Monday - Thursday are great in the evenings. Starting Friday afternoon through Sunday it gets a little crazy. Good people watching and drunk spotting but it can get a little too crowded to be relaxing. Good thing though, you can just walk back to the resort or hop somewhere else if you encounter a crowd.

I swear I haven't intentionally been MIA for over a month. Holy cats was I behind!

Speaking of cats, those were some pretty awesome tiger shots and the end of trip #2!

So sorry about the evil crocs. Almost any shoe is evil at WDW if not broken in first.

I really found in the summer EMH emptied out the park a bit. Those going all day long pooped out and went back to their resort or they did not know about EMH. They said Ak EMH had low attendance, I think there were plenty of people there but not a whole lot to do so it seemed really crowded since everyone was concentrated in the "right" side of the park, Dinoland and Asia. I think the amount of people it took to man the areas you could not go into was harder to manage and created a cost situation they wanted to avoid. Now they extend the hours a bit and have the whole staff working the whole time.

The further into EMH you went the less the lines were. I think my Oct Trip I got in line for Soarin' at 3 minutes to midnight and had little to no wait.

WS starts to really thin out later because not too much is open but it is great place to soak in the atmosphere and relax.

I think I was walking along and looked up and WHOA!! and then " I HAVE to get a picture of that.":rotfl2:

They are all lined up and that is what makes it great.

Short of climbing over the fence or waiting until Illuminations was starting and getting it actually going up that was the best angle with no one in the way I could get. I would have waiting but a French pastry and slushie were calling my name. :lmao:

I know the feeling, I get caught up and then everyone gets chatty all over the place all at once.

Cold weather - if you can do it you get great cool tigers. :thumbsup2

I thought I had them broken in somewhat but the extra heat and humidity and then heading to AK and all the heat there did not help one bit.

I kept walking. It was dark but I did walk by Italy to see the wall. This would be coming down soon to reveal Via Naploi.

I make it to Germany.

Now I used the program GB recommended to Glenn and then Glenn used to create his masterpieces. I have a little gap because I had no idea I could really make this into a panorama so easily. The finished product.

i plan to do it again with more pictures to really get the whole mural.

I got those but not the section with the Hidden Mickey or the creepy kids gutting the fish.

By the now open La Hacienda.

Next up inside to ride. Continued next post.

I venture on to Mexico. Very empty in there. I have a whole boat to myself.

I can never get a clear shot of this while I am moving.
IMG_3386.jpg

Now I was alone as far as I can see.

I was a bit naughty. There is a bit more light on those than usual. :ssst:

I do better when I rest the camera on that ledge on the other side.

Back towards Future World and by TT. Single rider line was on the board at 30 min. It was not time yet. It was only 10pm.
Lets head to M:S – orange side

IMG_3406.jpg

I get grouped with first timers. I try to explain what is going to happen. They are nervous but they all survive.
On the way out we see a woman sitting down. Apparently orange was too much for her.

IMG_3407.jpg

I walk by TT. Nope Line still too long. I walk by the boards and Soarin’ in 30 minutes. NEXT!!

Let’s try Captain EO.

Or is it?? I exit and it is 11:58. Do I have time to make a run for it and get in line for Soarin’?
I make it in and one couple comes in behind me. I am 3rd to last in line for Soarin’.

IMG_3436.jpg

As we all approach the concourse I hear a shout out for a single rider. Oooh oooh ( in my best Arnold Horseshack) that would be me. I still score center of row 1. Awesome. I have in my notes French but I have no idea what that means. :rotfl2:

I exit Soarin’ at 12:17am. I make my way out of the park.

IMG_3437.jpg

IMG_3440.jpg

I get to the bus stop at 12:32 and bus is right there. I walk on and I am the last one allowed on the bus standing because I was a party of one.
Make it back to POP by 12:48 and up to the room. I wash the sticky off me and fall into bed.

Wow, you did a lot in those EMHs. We definitely have to give them a try this summer. Love the night shots around the World Showcase. We must do that as well!
