I'm in! I'll be there in Oct, too I will be turning 40 less than 2 months after WDW does, so this is kinda my birthday trip without a birthday, too, lol.

How funny how many of my readers seem to share the same birthyear as me! A trip to WDW is the beat way to celebrate a birthday!

I hope that trip to WDW will be a bit less stressful than your last one!

I am sure it can !!! I think they would LOVE to meet someone from Germany but not as much as I will!!!

Great, we will need to talk about plans at some point in the future! I hope we will be "Germanic" enough to impress you and the guys.

I am quite surprised as well! When I started my first PTR I was a bit anxious wether I would find anyone willing to read it. But it looks like this won't be an issue this time. Great to have you here!

Everything is great! We have just been busy, mostly with the new puppy. Send me a PM and I will tell you my FB name if you're on Facebook and you can see pics of Sandy. We have also planned a Disney trip for December (see new PTR in my siggy) and we've been off-again, on-again on the Germany trip this year. Just last week we got an offer for a package again and now we're back to thinking about it for July.

Hi Camille, great to have you here! The balloon picture was a favourite on the TR and Katharina and I like it, too. I think it captures the reason for going to WDW for my 40th: what other place can you still be a child at that much?

I decided to go back and read your older reviews since I just started following your last trip report I've missed out on a lot. I've only read your first trip report but I found it very fun and full of the details that you are known for. I really enjoyed reading about how you came up with your screen name and I found this quite intresting..

So knowing both parks better today then a couple of years ago how do they compare? I can't believe they said the food was worse then McDonald's

The book I was referring to was published in 1993 and talked about how bad the food at DL and WDW was then. I remember that in 1992 Katharina and I were not impressed at all with the fast food sold at DL. And I have been reading WDW online discussions for a very long time and it seems that counter service food only improved at WDW after 2000. I think places like the renovated Sunshine Seasons which opened in 2005 and Flame Tree BBQ which opened in 1998 were examples of improving variety and quality in WDW food.

In 2009 WDW was offering a lot of manages money if they would leave the company voluntarily before they then started to lay off many people on the manager level. One person who took the money before he possibly could have been laid off was the guy responsible for all food services. The story about it was in the Orlando Sentinel here.

I have no idea who is in charge now, so who knows which direction WDW will go in the future...

Hi, just gonna throw my 2 cents in about food in DLP.Really not great the last time I was there. QS burgers and pizzas overpriced and under taste. QS in WDW is far superior IMHO

The quote Kleese had from above was about WDW food being so bad and DLP food being supposedly so good. But things have changed since 1993 quite a lot. I can tell you, QS did not impress us this time in DLP either...

Interestingly, the guy I mentioned above, started his career at DLP before going to WDW. So maybe the food was really great when the parks opened but due to underperforming from the beginning they just had to up their profit margin on the food. I think now people just expect food to be bad at DLP. We had some very nice TS meals however.

Hello and welcome to all readers! I can't believe my first appearance on our PTR is on page four.... But work (again) has been very busy before the trip to Paris and after the trip and on friday I developed a nasty sore throat. I feel better today so I finally caught up with the Disboards.
