Hey everyone,
I was able to finally get my hands on the original movie soundtrack for Finding Nemo. It is the most beautiful soundtrack! before that "A bug's Life" was another one I was floored with.

Are there are any of you who also really enjoy the Disney movie scores? are there good MUST own soundtracks that one must own?

Thanks everyone!

I love them too!! Another good one, although it is not a Disney movie, but Disney does use the music, is from Peter Pan 2003. Disney used the music"Flying" in it's 2007 promotion. I also heard it while leaving the fairies the past December. It is a beautiful soundtrack.

Thomas Newman, who composed the score for Finding Nemo, also scored Pixar's Wall-E, so you might want to check that out, too, if you haven't.

I love Michael Giacchino's scores for Pixar (Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up). He just won a much-deserved Oscar for the "Up" score, which is wonderful. Unfortunately, the Up soundtrack is available only as an online download (I got mine from Amazon); as far as I know, there still has not been a hard-copy CD of it released to the public. One treat on the Up soundtrack "album" is the song, "The Spirit of Adventure." A very abbreviated version of it plays at the very very end of the Up movie credits, but there's a longer version on the soundtrack. It is an authentic-sounding, 1930s-style novelty song inspired by the exploits of the Famous Explorer Charles Muntz ("Adventure is out there, it's heading our way, so grab your scarf and goggles, let's fly!"). I read somewhere that Michael Giacchino wrote the lyrics as well as the tune, and all I can say is, he needs to write a musical!

My whole family thinks I'm crazy that I listen to Disney music ALL THE TIME!!!! :)

Right now I listen to The Princess & the Frog.... great CD!!!!!

And I have the 4 parks 1 world... it's park music. LOVE this CD!!!!!!

I absolutely love the score for UP. Everytime I listen to it, I either cry or smile. :lovestruc
And I love the score for Beauty & The Beast - classic!!

I love the Rocketeer by James Horner (of Titanic and Avatar fame - not to mention Star Trek II and III), Tron - Wendy/Wayne Carlos, and The Black Hole - John Barry (James Bond Films and Dances With Wolves)

Waw! great music! thanks for sharing this. That's exactly the kind of soundtrack i was looking for. Absolutely phenomenal my friend! you've got a great taste in music!

The score for "Up" is so amazing. It really complements the movie (perfect emotions for that certain point in the action), and is beautiful to listen to on its own, too.

Oliver & Company,Rescuers Down Under,Beauty & The Beast,The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Tarzan soundtracks are great.

:) Emporer's New Groove...gotta love Eartha Kitt, Tom Jones and Sting.

I'm new to DISboards. heehee

I've always loved and enjoyed Disney movie scores. The music adds so much more emotion to a film. Disney hires the most talented people to ensure their films are the best.
